Pitka Bay Resort, established in 1981, is located just 10 km from Fort St. James on the shores of Stuart Lake—known as Nak’albun in the Carrier language—one of British Columbia’s largest natural lakes. This self-catering resort offers a combined 17 RV and tent sites with a range of hook ups as well as a 15-room lodge, with every unit boasting stunning lake views. Guests can enjoy year-round outdoor activities, including boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, and hunting, with winter bringing access to a ski hill featuring 18 powder-filled runs. The resort’s marina provides access to the 300 km Stuart-Trembleur-Takla lake route, ideal for jet boating and renowned for its pristine wilderness and sports fishing opportunities. The area is rich in Indigenous culture and history, with centuries-old pictographs and nearby heritage sites and museums.
