A tranquil sanctuary of peace and solitude to soothe the soul, Simcoe Island is a bird watcher paradise, so close to the city of Kingston yet a world where time has stopped. Accommodations are a 16’ x 20’ prospector wall tent, set up with queen size deluxe air mattress, bunk bed and single cots for extra guests. We have a food prep table, dishes, frying pan and cooking pot, a small microwave, single induction cooktop, small bar fridge and a kettle and coffee maker. You can eat your meals at the picnic table inside the tent or at the outside picnic table. There is a kerosene heater for cooler nights and a wood pellet stove which will heat the tent during the winter months. An outdoor dishwashing station is available with on demand hot water. We have a basic dug privy. There are bicycles available to use to explore the island and there are 3 kayaks and 2 canoes for paddling in the sheltered channel and the lake. Fishing generally is good. Ferry toll is $10 for a return trip and the ferry from downtown Kingston to Wolfe Island is free. Linens and sleeping bags are available if requested . FALL and WINTER CAMPING at Windpsalm: Kerosene and/or wood pellets costs will be discussed prior to or upon guests arrival during the fall and winter months. The pellet stove's fan tends to be a bit noisy but it does a good job of making the tent warm and comfortable. Fen stayed in the tent in February when the overnight temperatures were -25C and the inside temperature on the back wall was 18C. Fen's grandchildren are also regular winter campers at Windpsalm. We can also provide a few sets of snowshoes and if requested a popup ice fishing hut. In the event that the snow is too deep for your vehicle, we will transport our guests to the tent in our farm John Deere Gator.

You can eat your meals at the picnic table inside the tent or at the outside picnic table. There is a kerosene heater for cooler nights and a wood pellet stove which will heat the tent during the winter months. An outdoor dishwashing station is available with on demand hot water. We have a basic dug privy. There are bicycles available to use to explore the island and there are 3 kayaks and 2 canoes for paddling in the sheltered channel and the lake. Fishing generally is good. Ferry toll is $10 for a return trip and the ferry from downtown Kingston to Wolfe Island is free. Linens and sleeping bags are available if requested . FALL and WINTER CAMPING at Windpsalm: Kerosene and/or wood pellets costs will be discussed prior to or upon guests arrival during the fall and winter months. The pellet stove's fan tends to be a bit noisy but it does a good job of making the tent warm and comfortable. Fen stayed in the tent in February when the overnight temperatures were -25C and the inside temperature on the back wall was 18C. Fen's grandchildren are also regular winter campers at Windpsalm. We can also provide a few sets of snowshoes and if requested a popup ice fishing hut. In the event that the snow is too deep for your vehicle, we will transport our guests to the tent in our farm John Deere Gator.

Totally off-grid, (no electricity or running water), this Bunkie is nestled deep inside a juglans forest (black walnut), within 74 acres of a certified organic fruit and nut farm located on the historic Rideau Canal. Enjoy the peace and quiet as you explore the trails found throughout the farm. Birds and wildlife abound on the property and often provide great photo opportunities. If you want tours of the farm orchards, they can be arranged with owner, Dorothy! There are beautiful views of the Brass Point Swinging Bridge on the canal and a tranquil private bay with herons, swans, ducks and geese where you can sit and rest. This site is located within a short drive to many of eastern Ontario’s tourist destinations. Hike Rock Dundar or Frontenac Provincial Park and experience their magnificent vistas. Visit the Opinicon Resort at Chaffey’s Lock for an ice cream. See the Thousand Islands on a Gananoque boat cruise, experience a sunset ceremony at Old Fort Henry, hop on the Kingston Trolley and tour the many historic sites in the Limestone City. There is so much to see and do. We invite you to enjoy nature’s beauty relaxing in a hammock, roasting marshmallows over a crackling campfire or just chilling as you escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. As mentioned already, this is an Off-grid site with no power. Potable water and basic necessities are provided. Pets are welcome but please clean up after your fur baby. Learn more about this land:Our property just north of the St. Lawrence River has three grassy campsites that can hold up to five guests each. We have sheep, chickens, ducks, and a miniature donkey, who we look after now that we are retired from our dairy farm. It’s a relaxing environment where you can build a campfire and explore nearby riverfront attractions like Morrisburg Beach. On-leash pets are welcome.  Rest of description: There is a firepit for campfires, a gazebo for shade, and a seating area on the lawn with wooden furniture. RVs up to 45 feet long can be accommodated on a pull-in site that will require leveling. Electrical and water hookups are available; generators are not allowed.  The property is less than 15 km from the towns of Iroquois and Morrisburg, where you can find restaurants and stores and check out the St. Lawrence River. Thousand Islands National Park is about an hour south, but closer to the property, there are parks, golf courses, and other outdoor attractions such as Two Creeks Forest Conservation Area, Iroquois Beach, and Morrisburg Beach.

Learn more about this land: Enjoy our scenic property outside Smiths Falls, where we have one campsite that can accommodate tents or RVs for up to 10 guests. A creek runs through our unspoiled paradise, and you can cross the private bridge to explore the creek banks. Pets are welcome. The Rideau River flows just south of our property, providing outdoor activities and waterfront attractions.   Campfires are allowed on the property. There are no toilets or water. For RVs, the pull-in space can accommodate vehicles up to 42 feet long on a grassy surface. Camping on Paul's property for the night was breathtaking. Being able to camp in a quiet, secluded area backing onto a beautiful creek was exactly what I needed. Paul was super friendly and welcoming. He showed us where the site was and even offered the cabin for us to sleep in. Plenty of wood was provided. I highly recommend this place - it's perfect! I'm definitely going back again.

This is the second time we stayed at Black Maple Farm, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The site is clean, well-organized, and very pleasant, and our toddler absolutely loved helping feed and care for the animals. The hosts are warm, helpful, and lovely to chat with. I highly recommend this campsite- we will certainly be back next summer!

My family and I stayed in one of the bell tents at Agape Gardens. It was super clean and very well decorated. It was so inviting and cosy. Jennie smudged the tent prior to us arriving which is such an honour to have done. Jennie and her beautiful family welcomed us with a tour of the property, which we found to be extremely well looked after. From the brimming gardens, healthy live stock, well established hiking trail, to the multiple options of sites to camp at, we were very impressed. We felt at home immediately and wished we could’ve stayed longer. We also met her neighbours who were also very friendly people and jumped to help us fix some toys we had with us. We will most definitely visit this special place again. An easy 5 star review. Many thanks Jennie and Jeremy.

Lovely spot- very relaxing, amazing view, friendly hosts. we loved the bell tent, although we were there on the first night of October, so it got a bit chilly in the evening- luckily there were extra blankets. We were only there for one night, so didn’t get a chance to try out all of the extras but definitely would book more time on a return visit.

The campsite is beautiful, well maintained and has great privacy for each campsite. Jennie and Jeremy were very welcoming and quick to respond if you need anything! You will definitely have a relax time here with the beautiful views. The sauna and cold plunge are also great plus! During the night, the weather would drop low even inside the tent so definitely need to dress warm! Would love to be back soon!

Another amazing stay at this serene country paradise! Kelly and her family are wonderful hosts; they gave us all the privacy we wanted, but were certainly there if we needed anything. On the other hand, Sasha (the dog), Lucy (the cat), and the chickens (ruled over by a noisy but amusing black rooster), visited regularly, adding whimsey and comfort to the visit! We look forward to our next visit; it's starting to feel like family!
