Fifthwind farm is located high on a hilltop in Northumberland county. Our farm is only 10 minutes north of Cobourg yet feels tranquil and remote. The view is spectacular…on a clear day New York State is visible. Our Bunkie is fully insulated and cozy on cold winter nights. The Northumberland Forest is quite close and it offers many cross-country ski trails. Because of the cold weather, our outdoor shower it’s not operable during the winter months. The Bunkie does not have running water, but water is provided, and the sink can still be used. There is a large bonfire area on our farm, (a little bit away from the Bunkie) also a play area for kids including zip line, boat structure, sand box, swing, above ground pool and trampoline; gorgeous circular organic garden with seating area and a small orchard. The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river. Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area. All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals. There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!! PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices. ***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this. We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests. This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience. Historical Significance of the property When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place. It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

The bunkie features a queen mattress, 4 windows and if desired, the mattress can be rolled up to accommodate a centre table for card playing. There is no hydro, indoor water or heat in the bunkie. If you need to charge your cell phone, consider having a portable solar phone charger or a portable power bank as there is NO hydro on the property. ** NOTE - be sure to enter the full address in your GPS for accurate directions. Outdoor amenities include: propane barbeque, firepit, countertop for food prep, cast iron frying pan and pot, plates, bowls, mugs, and flatware. A serene retreat awaits in North Kawartha. With over 300 private acres, there is an abundance of bush and waterways to explore. Whether you are looking for a waterfront campsite or a cabin with a large deck overlooking a small lake, you will surely enjoy the opportunity to experience our little slice of paradise. The cabin is a 12 minute walk in on groomed trails. Atvs can be accommodated for getting to and from the sites and further trail exploring if you’re looking for adventure. Hammock campers are able to hike the trails and choose their own backcountry site. Tent sites have been cleared in exceptional spots that are easily accessible by foot, ATV or jeep. Valet for your supplies is available, and you can enjoy the enchanting walk in the bush to your spot. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. We can accommodate!

2 nights at Forest Time Retreat

We had an amazing 2 night experience . Forest Time Retreat is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The hosts are amazing people. They have thought of everything that you could possibly need for your stay at the bunkie. A fully equipped outdoor kitchen with BBQs, wood burning stove, fire pit, wood shed full of wood, sink with jugs of non-potable water for washing, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery +++, an outdoor shower, clean "outhouse ", exterior solar lights and more. All in a quiet wooded area. Other sites are well spaced out and well set up. We are already planning to return.

The Loft was such an great experience. Ann and Brian were amazing and accommodating! The place is clean, has everything you’d need and all instructions are clear and everything is as advertised. Would definitely come again (maybe to try their other accommodation). Also, we’ve got a visit from one of their dogs and he was one of the best trained (and cutest) dogs ever! Thanks for a great experience! :)

Words are not enough to describe this place. The cabin is in middle of woods and there is stream running just behind the cabin. If you want a place in nature but not far from city look no further. Kristin and her husband are extremely friendly and amazing host.

We had the most incredible romantic getaway at this absolutely gorgeous property! From the moment we arrived, the entire place felt like a peaceful, serene sanctuary. Our hosts were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Here are a few highlights from our trip: Ultimate Relaxation: Having both the jacuzzi and sauna included in the price was an amazing bonus and made our evenings incredibly relaxing. Great Amenities: We loved spending time lounging by the beautiful open pool and even tiering ourselves out with a few fun games on the badminton court. A Special Furry Friend: A massive shoutout to the show stealer, Koda! He is such a friendly, energetic, and lovable dog who brought a huge smile to our faces every time we saw him. Everything about this stay was flawless. We are already missing the tranquility and might just have to come back and visit again soon! Ann & Brian, you guys are the best.

One of our absolute favourite places to Hipcamp. It’s a truly one‑of‑a‑kind experience these hosts think of everything. From the funky outdoor shower to the clever dish‑washing setup, the perfect coffee in the A‑frame, endless firewood, gorgeous hiking spots, and the hot tub, pool, and sauna… it’s hard to imagine a better way to spend an extra‑special weekend. Villa Vida Loca is perfection! My partner and I absolutely love camping and exploring new places, but this spot has completely stolen our hearts, it is the only place we find ourselves constantly wanting and planning to visit again and again. We loved our first stay in October so much that we had to come back in June, and it was even better. Ann and Brian are incredible hosts who truly excel at everything they do. The property is mesmerizingly clean, incredibly organized, and the attention to detail is stunning. They have thought of everything you could possibly imagine or need: a remarkably comfortable cabin, a great shower and sink setup, a comfortable restroom, a hot tub, a sauna, and a beautiful lake with warm, crystal-clear water. If you have a dog, this is the absolute perfect place to go! Ann and Brian truly love dogs and will treat yours so incredibly well. Plus, your pup will even have a built-in buddy, sweet Koda. Brian made sure we were perfectly comfortable and had everything we needed throughout our stay. We are definitely planning a trip number three! 10/10 stars!

A great place to relax in nature! The spa and sauna have a beautiful view of the trees, and the bonfire pit was perfect for cooking. They also have basic BBQ gear. Highly recommend if you want some quality downtime in the woods!
