Surrounded by a beautiful forest of mature Black Walnut and Cedar trees, our site is a wildlife haven. In the evenings, bats come out to dance in the sky, adding a touch of magic to your stay.
For those looking to explore, there’s plenty to do nearby. You can enjoy great fishing, hike the local trails, bike along scenic routes, or even take a boat ride on our 13 ft Boston whaler. If you’re feeling adventurous, we can point you to horseback riding, golfing, or treetop trekking just a short drive away.

Ben Howe (Blue Hills in Gaelic) is a state-of-the-art carriage driving facility in beautiful southern Ontario. Conveniently located 45 minutes north of Toronto and 30 minutes from Pearson International Airport, it offers the best of both worlds — rural charm with urban accessibility.
Visitors may book farm stays, where they can participate in the daily operations of the farm, take riding or carriage driving lessons, enjoy our pool, explore 76 acres of managed forest with over 5 km of hiking and riding trails, and discover the heritage of the local surroundings.
Primitive camping is not available at this time but is planned for the future. We have one full-service RV site, or you can stay in our spacious, fully equipped Thor Magnitude Class C motorhome. You can also book our modern two-bedroom apartment located above the carriage house, which is filled with historic carriages!

This four-season cottage on Mitchell Lake allows offers wonderful views of the lake from the living room. Enjoy your morning coffee to the sound of loons or watch the beautiful sunset before roasting marshmallows at the fire pit.
The cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. If you are working remotely the cottage has great WIFI. You will love the 100 feet of waterfront including water toys! The cottage also features a firepit, wood-burning stove, BBQ, and heat & AC.
Lakeside you will enjoy canoeing, paddle-boating and kayaking. You can relax on the screened-in porch while watching kids play. In the winter, enjoy snowshoeing with the snowshoes that are provided!
Located only 1.5-2 hours from Toronto (depending on traffic). The cottage is a 12-minute drive from beautiful Balsam Lake Provincial Park, which has scenic hiking trails, a beautiful and clean beach with swimming, picnic areas, and a kids playground.
Traveling with small children? Let us know! Our cottage is very family-friendly with lots of toys, books, games, a sandbox, kid's life jackets, mini Muskoka chairs, and a mini picnic table. We also have two pack n’ plays, a portable high chair (lobster chair), and bed rails available for guest use upon request

Mitchell Lake is known for its peaceful atmosphere, gorgeous sunsets, and fishing, however, it is a weedy lake. It is fantastic for wading or playing in the shallow water by the dock, canoeing, paddle boating, relaxing on floaties, etc., however, it is not ideal for distance swimming. We recommend that guests bring water shoes or crocs.

I went up with my boyfriend and our dog and it was an absolutely fantastic time! The motorhome was awesome. Very roomy, the ac was a lovely touch for the hotter days, bed was very comfortable and the tv with a huge stack of movies was a nice touch. Beautiful place with great views of the sunset, good for fishing, and relaxing. The host was very kind, friendly and accommodating. Totally went above and beyond giving us fresh veggies from their garden and recommending things to do. We loved this place, would definitely recommend and plan on going back up!
