Enjoy your morning coffee to the sound of loons or watch the beautiful sunset before roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. The cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. If you are working remotely the cottage has great WIFI. You will love the 100 feet of waterfront including water toys! The cottage also features a firepit, wood-burning stove, BBQ, and heat & AC. Lakeside you will enjoy canoeing, paddle-boating and kayaking. You can relax on the screened-in porch while watching kids play. In the winter, enjoy snowshoeing with the snowshoes that are provided! Located only 1.5-2 hours from Toronto (depending on traffic). The cottage is a 12-minute drive from beautiful Balsam Lake Provincial Park, which has scenic hiking trails, a beautiful and clean beach with swimming, picnic areas, and a kids playground. Traveling with small children? Let us know! Our cottage is very family-friendly with lots of toys, books, games, a sandbox, kid's life jackets, mini Muskoka chairs, and a mini picnic table. We also have two pack n’ plays, a portable high chair (lobster chair), and bed rails available for guest use upon request This is a great place to make memories and share moments together that will last a lifetime! It is fantastic for wading or playing in the shallow water by the dock, canoeing, paddle boating, relaxing on floaties, etc., however, it is not ideal for distance swimming. The Birch

We had a wonderful time at Andrews' cottage. The setting is beautiful with a gorgeous waterfront view. There is a firepit right at the waterfront which is a great place to enjoy the sunset. The cottage itself was clean, well stocked with games, well decorated, and comfortable. My younger children loved playing with all of the toys both inside and outside which kept them busy for hours. I should also add that there was excellent communication with emails outlining suggested activities in the area; letting me know that the cottage would be available an hour or two earlier than expected on the day of check in, and I also appreciated the provision of a provincial park pass to use at the Balsam Lake park. Overall, would highly recommend this cottage to any family looking for a cottage getaway.

The Birch

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Birch Kawartha. The location was super easy to find, and very close to fuel, a convenience store and a small town. The cottage offered lots of outdoor fun, including a play area for young kids, and outdoor games. The waterfront offered a beautiful dock, water toys, kayaks, a canoe and even a paddle boat. For the nature lover there are lots of beautiful birds and you might even spot a beaver or two! There is a picnic table for outdoor eating, a hammock in the shade to relax in, and a great deck off of the cottage that also offers a screened in porch for your morning coffee. Inside, is a brilliant and rustic cottage space. The 3 generously sized bedrooms, including a bunk room also offer ample storage and the most comfy mattresses. There is a lot to do indoors too, including a guitar, kids play nook, crafts and games, as well as a wood burning fire to cozy up to on those cooler, damp evenings. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to cook and prepare all meals, or if you prefer to grill your meals over the bbq, or even the bonfire, these are both included as well! The cherry on top was the lovely host! I highly recommend this stay as a truly fun peaceful and relaxing getaway.
