Located on a quarter acre of land, tucked into a corner of a hay field, surrounded by fields, forests, and hedgerows, there is a house, cabin, woodworking shop, and a few outbuildings. We have plenty of lawn space if you want to play ball or just lay on the grass! We have a fire-pit, a spot to spread a blanket under a big White Pine or relax in a hammock in the shade of the two Balsam firs. The campsite has an electrical cord available for you phone/computer charging needs. There is a kitchen table and a few chairs for you and your family to enjoy outdoor meals and drinks. We have just built a brand new composting toilet equipped with a little sink (we provide hand towels, toilet paper and soap) and outdoor shower with COLD running water. We are working on having hot water available - please be patient with us! We ask not to smoke on the property (no tobacco, cigarettes, marijuana or vaping), please go for a walk on the road if you need to have a smoke. Clean up and pack all your garbage. We have a very social outdoor cat that would likely spend days with you. He is very, very interested in food and can not control himself, just be aware that he might steal and chew through bags. We specifically provided a plastic bin for you to cat-proof all your food. PLEASE NOTE: There is an ongoing fire ban on Manitoulin Island - no open fires or fireworks. Camp stoves are allowed.

We live in a beautiful area nestled in the woods just seconds away from amenities, half a kilometer off Highway 17. It is very private here. We are homesteaders and love our land. We grow our own food, our own herbs and our own chickens. If you're here during the right time, you might see a few chicks running around . In our town we have a small grocery store, a convenience store with gas and we have an LCBO You can park in the driveway with you RV or on the lawn with your tent. You will have access to electricity and water. You can also use the bathroom and shower. You must provide your own extension cord and water hose I do have some here if need be but I am not sure they would be long enough. There is a beautiful Lake just down the street. Another half a kilometer away for you to go. Kayaking, swimming or just sightseeing. There is also a spot for you to climb the mountain. The marina here in town is absolutely beautiful and they have a lookout for you to climb. I believe it's 132 steps. This is the highlight of our little town.

Came in very late after a World Series Game. We set up quietly with prior permission and got some well needed rest. Very quiet and peaceful. Washroom and parking were great. Highly recommend this host and will be back again on my travels. Here is a picture of the washroom and parking, I do not think there was one posted.

Weekend Trip to Point Grondine Park

We caught PG in its infancy and what a treat. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The sites a huge. The put in at the lake is exceptional, with a fabulous dock and small sandy beach for easy access for canoes and kayaks. The birding was also amazing. The river was fun to paddle, but the many beaver are hard at work, and that's just nature. We look forward to seeing the next stages of development.

The camp site is located on the left side of an open grass area along a mixed cedar and spruce stand of trees. Close walk to toilet and shower facilities

The campground/resort is very cozy with cabins & a trailer scattered throughout the property. The Chickadee campsite was wonderful - right next to the woods, with its own private path to the river (a lovely spot for morning coffee in the sun). Also close to the (very clean and un-smelly) outhouse/vault toilet, shower, and water tap. Good mix of sun and shade. And power! Access to the beach across the street was incredible! Also within walking distance of the town. Deanne was a warm and welcoming host. Really felt at home here. Honestly couldn't have asked for anything more! :)

Weekend Trip to Fieldview

We loved camping at Anastasia’s land. The property itself was very beautiful and had a space under the shades for our campsite. The ground was level and perfect to pitch our tent. Even though we came late, Anastasia waited to check us in and gave us a detailed tour of the property. The washroom with hot water and electric supply was exactly what we needed after a long day of exploring the island. Review will be incomplete without mentioning Koshak who made sure to keep us entertained 😸 Overall this was one of the best places we have camped at. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a campsite in Manitoulin. Thank you Anastasia for your hospitality!

The Chickadee Rest campsite was lovely, we lucked out and had the area to ourselves. We enjoyed being surrounded by trees with access to the creek from our campsite. The shower was clean with plenty of hot water and the owners are working on building a washroom beside the shower. The campground is across the street from a large, beautiful beach. The town is small but there is a great fish and chip restaurant within easy walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay, and the owners were kind and welcoming.

I spent two nights here and really enjoyed my stay. Hosts were excellent with communication and very welcoming upon my arrival. Site is very well clean and well-maintained and backs up to the Mindemoya River, with a nicely cleared path, providing access down to the river if you so desire. The entire camping area was mowed and hook ups were easy to use, with trash and recycling receptacles right at my site. The hosts are the newest generation to manage and operate this business which has been in the family for several generations. In addition to the camping site, there are cabin sites, as well. They are modernizing and upgrading and doing a good job of it, from what I could see. The shower area was clean and modern with good hot water and good water pressure. Chickadee’s Rest and the other two similar sites were adjacent to, but separate from the cabin areas, giving a safe, peaceful feel. Fulford’s is within probably 100 meters or less from the boardwalk at the Providence Bay Beach. When I arrived, they shared with me that it was a great place to watch the sunset over the bay. It is also walking distance to pretty much everything in Providence Bay. I found it to be a right central location for my time exploring various areas of Manitoulin Island. House went above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating to me, and if I ever return to the island, you can be certain that I will plan to stay with them again.
