Our 2.5 acre property is located just outside the small village of Millbank. The large lawn area is great for camping, campfires, playing games and relaxing while watching the horse and buggies of the local Amish and Mennonites go ambling by in a manner that speaks to a time gone by. We have now added a Bunkie that can be booked for a more comfortable camping experience. The Perth Harvest Pathway section of the G2G rail trail is quite literally in the backyard. for hiking , bird watching and biking. We have an outdoor shower and large sink in a shed attached to the rear of our garage. It is easy to identify as it has a large white x on the door. We also have a few camping items such as a grill and a few cooking pots and pans in the small shed near the G2G trail

Being avid hikers ourselves, we realize that there are not a lot of accommodations just off the Bruce Trail. So our main goal is to assist hikers as they explore the Bruce Trail. Whether you are doing the ‘end-to-end ‘ in one go (Bravo!), or doing a more relaxed multi day hike, our little bunkie will be a welcome place to lay your head at the end of the day. Our forest bunkie is nestled in the woods, a few minutes walk off the trail, and conveniently located approximately at the half way point of the Caledon Hills section. You truly feel like you are one with nature here. At night you may hear the coyotes howling in the distance or hear the local raccoons out on their nightly stroll.
You have complete privacy at the bunkie. However, if you need assistance our home isn’t too far away. Please note that it is an off-grid bunkie…which means no electricity! We do have lamps available in the bunkie, however bringing your own headlamp or flashlight is recommended. There is a cute, private outhouse w/ washbasin. We have an outdoor shower a little ways away from the bunkie site, with hot water. There is a double bed in the loft. The pull out couch on the main level also can be converted to a double bed. There is no running water at bunkie, however we will have some potable water provided. You will be met upon arrival.
PLEASE NOTE:
*There is a strict NO fire rule anywhere on the property.
*There is a hill (w/some forest stairs) that you will have to navigate to get to bunkie site.
Mono Mills is 6 minutes away w/ Starbucks, Tim Hortons, gas stations, pizza. Hockley Village is 7 minutes away, with the must visit Hockley Valley General Store. Orangeville is 15 mins away for all food and supplies you may need.
We can assist w/ Bruce Trail (Caledon Hills Section) pick ups/ drop offs if we are available.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

The Pine Bunkie at Tiny Farm is a two-storey, off-grid, solar-powered pine bunkie on a small, beautiful five-acre hobby farm outside St. Marys, Ontario. It sleeps two comfortably, and it's the kind of place made for good books and evenings around the campfire.
The main floor has a sitting area, a small kitchen with a fridge, sink, and coffee maker, and a BBQ outside for cooking. The loft above, reached by a ladder that's part of the charm, holds a queen bed with east-facing windows. Leave the window open and let the sound of birdsong be the first thing you hear in the morning.
Outside, a fire pit with red Muskoka chairs looks out over fields and a hedgerow that hums with birds and butterflies all summer. Your first fire is on us. When you're ready for more, the Kinsmen sell firewood right at Broken Rail Brewery, seven minutes down the road and a perfectly good excuse for a pint.
The bunkie has a composting toilet in a private outhouse. Full instructions are posted inside. Guests tell us they stop thinking about it after the first hour.
The horses love the attention of new friends. The chickens roam freely and will find you on their own schedule. The dogs are friendly and will definitely visit you. The pace is slow. That's the point.
Seven minutes away (a 15-minute walk through the field), Broken Rail Brewery pours excellent beer. We may see you there. The village of St. Marys has a sweet main street, proper coffee shops, and the kind of afternoon stroll that costs nothing. The Quarry, a stunning natural limestone swimming hole, is one of southwestern Ontario's best-kept secrets and entirely yours to discover.
Open from the May long weekend through September, when the hedgerow is full and the fire pit earns its keep.

My partner and I are so glad we chose the Bunkie for our anniversary trip this year. Despite being fairly independent anyway, we extend our gratitude to Val for providing just enough resources and amenities to make our trip worry-free. The site is perfectly secluded and a great spot for birders! Being visited by the dogs and horses was a lovely highlight of our stay as well. The St. Mary’s and Stratford area have plenty to offer for both nature enthusiasts and city folk alike. It was a difficult departure but a memory made for life! Thanks again Val for letting us enjoy a couple days of peace on the farm. ❤️

Weekend Trip to Pine the Sky
We had a great stay. We booked our two night stay rather last minute, and decided to enjoy a little glamping for a change of pace. It was nice to come back at the end of our day hiking and doing outdoor photography and being able to enjoy a relaxing shower and relax on the couch, away from the bugs for a short while. We usually are out tent camping, so this was a treat. Joan was a fabulous host and she made sure that our stay was perfect and she checked on us throughout our stay as well, as her two dogs did (whom I’m convinced only liked us for the liver dog treats we had on hand. 😝). Once, our dog got used to her two dogs, our dog was comfortable roaming off leash with Joan’s dogs.
We both highly recommend this place!

Weekend Trip to Bruce Trail Bunkie
MJ was an amazing host! She was very welcoming and very helpful during our stay. The bunkie was very clean and spacious as well had everything we needed. The bunkie was very close to the trail as well the land on which it was had a great view and was very well kept. It was accesible for us despite not driving which makes it ideal for anyone looking to get away from the city without the stress or driving or renting a car. We loved our stay and would do it again.

Weekend Trip to Forest Bunkie on Bruce Trail
I had a great experience booking Twila and Gren’s Forest Bunkie. Communication was friendly, stay instructions were clear, and the hosts met me when I arrived to guide me to the secluded bunkie location on their forested property.
For anyone who appreciates their own retreat into natural spaces, as well as the comforts of amenities such as a shower, enclosed outhouse, and roofed accommodations, this is a perfect spot! There were thoughtful touches inside the bunkie, for example, non-slip strips on the loft ladder and a rule about outdoor and indoor footwear to ensure the bunkie floors stay grit-free. Just ask first to find out what’s there if you’re thinking of packing it yourself, such as towels, warm blankets, and large coffee/tea mugs (I’m a fan!). The bunkie was cozy, and the location is peaceful. It was an ideal space to connect to the sights and sounds of nature.
A note to fellow hikers: I was lucky enough to have good weather the day I arrived, so in the late afternoon, I hiked a short distance along a tree-lined trail (the trailhead is by the bunkie) that led off the property to a section of the Bruce Trail, where I continued hiking and then doubled back before dark. For any BT through-hikers, I’d highly recommend booking a stay here during the Caledon Hills portion.

Val's Pine Bunkie is charmingly cozy with lots of little extras. Just bring your food and drink!
Everything you need for a comfortable getaway you will find in this little bunkie.
Val and family were great hosts. Max the dog came for a visit and made fast friends with our Bear dog.
We had a relaxing and peaceful stay. Lots to do in the area as well. St Mary's is a charming little town with lots of walking trails and a beautiful dog park and the river.

Joan is a very friendly and helpful host, definitely recommend a visit!
There's a small town nearby with an awesome coffee shop (Valley espresso), and other stores if you need a last minute supply run.

Joan was a great host, and the site was cute and well set up! Felt like we were in our own personal forest while also having everything that we needed nearby. Loved that there was a phone charging port, and the “Camp Cupboard” had some games, floaties, and cooking supplies. There were also some kayaks and canoes available! Would come back again.

We had an amazing weekend staying at the Strawberry Fields bunkie. Even though it rained the whole day, our host was so helpful and awesome. She even let us borrow her huge tarp, which made a total difference and let us spend the day relaxing among the pines with a cozy campfire.
We also went on nice hikes to nearby Hogg's Falls and McGowan Falls. Even though we didn't end up using the river much, the wonderful family bonding time made this a truly five-star experience. Highly recommended!

Joan was an absolutely wonderful host, so warm, welcoming, and incredibly hospitable. She went well above and beyond what you’d expect from a host, from lending us spray for our dog to sharing great local recommendations. She truly made us feel like family!
The property is beautiful, and we would have loved to explore more of it and spend some time by the river. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes were **HORRIBLE** while we were there! 😂 But that’s nature and definitely not a reflection of the property or Joan.

Weekend Trip to Chapelwood Chalet
My girlfriend and I came here to spend our 4 year anniversary. It was an amazing choice, it had a variety of beautiful trails, that were also well marked. The Chalet itself looks even prettier in person. He also kept you well stocked with so many amenities. If your looking to get away from your busy life for a bit, this is the place to be.

Weekend Trip to Bruce Trail Bunkie
MJ was an excellent and host, and made communication easy in preparation for my trip. The bunkie provided a lovely, private getaway. It was stocked with many supplies, cookware and other necessities! The outhouse was exceptionally well kept. It is very close to many access points of the Bruce trail, making a very convenient location wise. Overall a wonderful visit!

1 night at Pine the Sky
Joan's Bunkie In The Woods is a gem for those wanting a camping experience without any setup. Joan is super nice and her Bunkie provides a clean, comfortable place to sleep surrounded by trees, yet just a few short steps from your vehicle. Use of the outdoor shower is highly recommended!

1 night at Cottonwood Manor
I rode from Guelph to stay a night and finish the G2G trail. Great place to stay! The shower worked great as well.
They have a few chairs available in the bunkie which is great to use by the fire. An easy walk to town to get dinner at Anna Mae's Bakery and Restaurant!
The owners are very kind and helpful as well!
I will be back!

Your phone is still have access to Internet but the place is so peaceful that you are mentally disconnected from chaos out there in the world.

2 nights at Forest Bunkie on Bruce Trail

Weekend Trip to Bruce Trail Bunkie
We had a wonderful time at Bruce Trails! The bunkie is beautifully secluded from the main property, and we truly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, stunning views, and being immersed in nature. The birdsong, the breeze, and the overall atmosphere made our stay even more special.
I was a bit apprehensive about sleeping in the loft bed at first, but it turned out to be surprisingly comfortable!
The only minor issue we encountered was with the outhouse bathroom. It felt a little dusty, and there were a few spider webs that could have been cleaned. Other than that, everything was great.
The property had all the basic amenities we needed, including water, a grill, a campfire, firewood, and butane gas. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and we really enjoyed our stay!
