This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Here is what the land offers: -Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023 -Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table -Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The farm is a 100-acre working livestock and organic mixed produce farm with picturesque views, miles of wooded trails, and a beautiful little fish pond. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. A beautiful and accessible but secluded spot! Great for a relaxed car camping experience. The host was helpful and responsive. Fire pit and provided chairs/picnic tables were all in excellent condition. Bathroom also excellent and clean. 10 / 10 would camp again!

Wonderful setup and lovely location. Up on a hill surrounded by trees giving lots of privacy. Great clean and cozy outhouse/washroom facility. Lots of seating provided with brand new picnic tables for adults and kids. I am an avid kayaker and the Black River is just steps away. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to be back again.

Enjoy the view from your site. Site by the pond while you enjoy your morning. Relax in the evening with the serene water.

Weekend Trip to The Farm

Elana and family were wonderful hosts! I booked a few days just to “get away” and reset, and this was a perfect spot to do so. The animals (mini donkeys, oh my goodness!, the goat who welcomed me alongside Elana, the ducks that swam around the pond…) and the “Enchanted Forest” were highlights. I would have stayed longer (much longer!) if I could, and hope to be back next year… maybe to see baby donkeys or Highland cows? :) Thanks so much for a lovely weekend.

Woody and Elana were the kindest and most welcoming hosts, their camping area was absolutely stunning with the peaceful sounds of nature and animals. Their home and farm was the cutest and they have fresh eggs for sale which were amazing too! If you’re considering where to go camping I would wholeheartedly recommend camping here! Thank you both so much for the experience and welcoming ambiance!

Weekend Trip to The Farm

We had an amazing time, reflecting and relaxing. We stayed by the water and it was really beautiful listening to the water. The farm tour was awesome, I even got the help feed the pigs 🐷 which was really a highlight for me as they are one of my favourite animals. The donkey is the cute and so good looking and very well mannered. Frenchie and dumpling and the other goats are free range and super friendly! So many animals all well behaved! The cows were beautiful! Everything was beautiful and brings you back to earth! I would recommend this place anyone who loves animals and nature! If you don't like nature this place isn't for you, as you can meditate and reflect on your life to become one with nature. The family is super knowledgeable and very welcoming. I feel like they welcomed my partner and our dog in as apart of there family for the weekend! Just remember to bring a camping toilet and a table. This place deserves a 10 star rating out of 5!!!! Thank you for allowing us to have a beautiful weekend! And experience this amazing experience 💖🫶

This place is amazing. Nice flat spot to setup camper. Although there was a fire band on the fire pit look amazing with lots of gravel and stone around. Hopefully next next we can use it. The outhouse was amazing so clean and fresh with the pine shavings for the toilet. Made it smell nice.

We had a great time camping on Kristina’s land! The property is beautiful and has lots of space. We also really enjoyed having the outhouse with the hand wash station, which was very clean. I’d definitely recommend this site and would for sure come back in the future!

3 nights at Off Grid Dark Sky River Retreat

This is my second time camping here and it will likley not be my last! Absolutely love the complete privacy, and on site bathroom thats been always stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and soap for hand washing. My family/friends adore this spot and so do our dogs :). We even brought a telescope this year to look at the planets and starts as the sky is so clear and beautiful! Thanks to the host once again for everything! ♡
