Minutes from Northumberland Strait and beautiful Big Island BeachSite has access to River for Kayak or canoe launch which leads into Merigomish Harbour. Walking distance to convenience store and NSLC outlet. Easy drive to Cape George ( The Mini Trail ) and close to New Glasgow or Antigonish. We have beautiful orchards and blueberry fields, if you are here in July or August you can probably pick blueberries for breakfast. There is excellent biking and hiking nearby. The site has beautiful views of the surrounding area and very peaceful and quiet. You will have access to drinking water but no bathroom facilities. We are located between New Glasgow and Antigonish along the beautiful shore road called Route 245. Also, 10 minutes from TCH heading to Cape

This 5 acre private campsite is located right off highway 316 very close to Tor Bay Provincial Park, which offers a lovely beach and trails. Basin Brook Camp features a driveway quickly leading to a flat area suitable for a trailer or tents. The property overlooks a wilderness area with stunning sunsets and quiet moonlit nights. It has a cleared area in which blackberries, raspberries and blueberries grow. At the back of this cleared area is a marked trail leading to the shoreline on Gammons Basin. Along one side of the campsite land is Basin Brook, which is a tidal stream that can be accessed easily by the road. Deer have been seen on the property, and moose, otters and seabirds nearby. Basin Brook Camp is quiet and secluded with no neighbours in sight.
Please note that this is a drive on and off site so a trailer would need to be backed in. There is no room to turn around.

From the moment we arrived at Chris’s land we felt very welcomed. Chris was onsite to greet us and show us the camping area. The camp is a work in progress so no high-tech fancy camping facilities, but if your aim is to lay back, relax and leave the daily grind behind this is your place. The campsites are along the shore and at low tide a great walk. Our site enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and after a full day of exploring the area we took our camp chairs to the shoreline to watch the magnificent sunset over the water. The camp is 30 mins from groceries and gas. Chris allows dogs to roam off leash and our pup loved the freedom. Chris and his mom Gail check in with you daily to talk and answer your questions and they go out if their way to help make your stay comfortable.
We booked for one night and immediately booked a second night. We ended up spending 5 nights. Thank you Chris and Gail

It is a beautiful place on the edge of the ocean! Definitely worth stopping on your eastern shore road trip. We had 3 tents and all found flat spots. Burn ban was in effect but no big deal because the night sky was lit up. Minimal light pollution here.

We had an amazing camping experience here! The spot was peaceful and surrounded by nature, with direct access to the water. The off-leash area for our dog was a huge bonus; she had the time of her life running free and playing by the shore. Chris was incredibly thoughtful and friendly, making us feel truly welcome. A beautiful, quiet escape we’ll definitely return to.

Cora and Dave were great hosts! Both were very friendly and accommodating. Their campground suited us very well, with our 25ft motorhome. There were very large RVs there as well. Its a smaller campground (and they have cottages as well), which suited us very much. They have a brand new salt water pool, a small playground and tons of manicured lawn to play on. They have fully serviced lots to great spots to pitch a tent - so something for everyone. Its on the water as well, so strolling on the beach is great fun at low tide. Grab the canoe and catch some mackerel off the point out front - great fun as well!! We are active people, so we enjoyed the short walk or cycle into Georgetown (2k) and beyond (Montague 20k). We will be back!!

This was one of our favorite spots we've camped, it was extremely peaceful, you have a lot of privacy, the site is right on the lake and you can here the loons at night. Our dog loved roaming around here and there is a lot of good fishing in the area. There's a nice beach right up the road and the town has a grocery store with everything you need. Jason messaged extremely detailed instructions, which are very helpful in entering the correct path-make sure to read these over. Jason was very kind and helpful and responsive throughout our stay. If you have the chance I definitely recommend coming here, we loved it and if we didn't have a ferry to catch we would have loved to stay longer, it's a little piece of paradise.

Oaks Park is a beautiful, well-maintained, and wildly romantic overnight spot surrounded by nature. The host, Alan, is extremely friendly and helpful. A sea eagle has its nest nearby. It was raining heavily when we arrived. However, the site is easily accessible, even with two-wheel drive.
