We live in a little off-grid cabin deep in the Yalakom Valley in a small community of rustic-living and friendly folks. Please note that this property is located 40 km outside of Lillooet. Part of the road is a dirt road and a bit bumpy, best for cars that don't mind roughing it a little bit. You also lose service 5 minutes outside of Lillooet. The property is surrounded by private lots. You can explore ours down to the river or you can drive to other locations like the Horsehoe (a great swim spot), Carpenter Lake (great for swimming, too), Lac La Mere (good for fishing), Carol Lake, and much more.
This is a somewhat rustic and rugged spot- if you are looking for fancy glamping this is not the space for you! Vancouverites, you've been warned!

To the West the flowing waters of Saraswati and beyond the "Labyrinth" of bluffs known as Juniper Ridge rises to the alpine. To the North primary old growth forest housing a web of game trails connecting Birkenhead lake Provincial Park. This land was horse logged in the 50's, a few elder mother trees remain standing. Our ranch is on Gun Lake Road, close to Tyax Lake, 30 minutes from Gold Bridge and Bralorne. It is about 2 hours west of Lillooet or north of Pemberton (6 hours from Vancouver) on a remote road with paved and gravel sections and no cell service.
There is no cell service or TV at our location. Wi‑Fi is usually available but cannot be guaranteed due to weather and other natural factors outside our control. We have access to a landline if urgent calls need to be made.
You are responsible for leaving the cabin/your room and the area around it clean and free of food and garbage. Each guest is responsible for cleaning the cabins when they leave, such as doing the laundry, washing all dishes. At the end of your stay, please bring all garbage to the main house so we do not attract critters and bears.
We live in a true wilderness environment. The cabin water system uses filtered creek water and, though not common, there is always the possibility for water pressure to fluctuate.
Weather and other variables can change quickly in the mountains. We expect guests to approach challenges with a positive, solution‑oriented mindset and to be respectful of nature, other guests and our team. We are experienced in dealing with nature’s challenges and will find a solution together.

A perfect site for camping! Thanks to Carmen for her welcome, and to her friendly dog Molly for her company at dinner and who garded at night. The chalet for the toilets is very nice and clean. A hot shower would have been nice but we were warned before our arrival that it didn't work.

Weekend Trip to Deep Mountain Sea Cabin
Great spot in a quiet, peaceful location with beautiful views to wake up to. We planned to do more but ended up mostly chilling around the cabin (highly recommend the outside daybed!) and walking my dog to the river. Ren was really accommodating for my reactive dog, left the lights on for us as we were arriving late and provided some yummy home grown vegetables. Would love to stay again!

We loved the camping there! The two hosts were super nice people and we ended up chatting quite a while while they showed us around. The campsite is very nice too: the pit toilet has a water bucket to wash hands and soap. Each campsite has a picknick table. There was only one other guest that night, so it was relatively privat. Would absolutely recommend.

Carmen’s campsite, HayLmore, is amazing.
There is a washroom with a flush toilet and sink which is kept clean. Behind the bathroom building is a double sink, for dishes, dish soap included. Can and plastic recycling as well as a place for garbage- please keep garbage to a minimum as it’s a regular size garbage bin and there are other campers.
We stayed a ponderosa which to me is the most private spot, and I’ll definitely stay there again.
We had a 20’ pick-up with slider camper.
Molly (the dog) keeps to herself these days as she’s getting a little older, but she still loves pets.
Carmen sells her eggs, tomatoes (or veggies of the season too).

We had such an amazing time at Anderson Lake! The Yurt was cozy and comfortable, the outdoor kitchen made cooking so easy and scenic, and the property was absolutely breathtaking! It is totally worth the drive and such a cool way to experience the area! Absolutely book the sauna, and bring your paddle boards if you can! Can’t wait to come back next year! :)

Amazing, quiet place. Carmen was very responsive. Wasroom was impecable and dish washing station was very useful. Potable water was available too. The shower was not available yet, but we drove to Pemberton and showered in the rec centre for $4.50 each. We heard generators at night, but was not a problem for us (I always use earplugs for sleeping anyway, and my husband is a very good sleeper).
We had a few little walks to the creek. We saw salmon swimming upstream.
We went to Birkenhead lake a few times,, it’s like a 20 min drive. Totally worth it, it was not too busy and the beach was sandy.
We loved the place, We will definitely come back.

This was a little piece of paradise, tucked away in a quiet area with incredible mountain views. The campsites are similarly spaced to a provincial park, so don’t assume total privacy while there. My neighbors were quiet so it was no issue.
The dog was the best hostess, greeting everyone when they arrived and, of course, inspecting every meal to be sure it was suitable. :D
Carmen and Dale were so kind and flexible. Their farm is a delight, and they’ve made a high quality campground out of their land. Extremely clean bathroom and great cleaning station. (The shower is NOT hooked up, so don’t go expecting it.)
I can’t wait to go back and continue exploring!

Carmen's campsite near D'Arcy, BC was a real find. It's a little off the beaten path which is actually a good thing. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the property itself was well laid out and inviting. The icing on the cake was as we were heading west back to Vancouver and seeing the views of the mountains from that perspective. We'd highly recommend Carmen's land.

Weekend Trip to Lake Glamping with Beach and Sauna
We had a wonderful stay at Anderson Lake. The yurts are beautiful, spotless, and well organized. It’s the perfect place for a peaceful getaway, and the lake itself is absolutely stunning.
A few important tips before you go:
• You must have an off-road vehicle — ideally 4WD or AWD. A sedan will not make it.
• After navigating the rough road, you’ll park and then hike down a narrow path to your yurt. Carrying luggage, coolers, and gear can be challenging, as we had to make multiple trips.
• The lake is about a 5–6 minute hike down from the yurts.
• There are only two yurts on site. If the other one isn’t booked, you’ll be alone in the forest and campground — which might feel too isolated for some.
Overall, it’s a beautiful and unique experience with plenty of hiking involved. Just be prepared for the physical effort, and you’ll have an unforgettable stay

It was a very quiet and peaceful place. The porta-potties were odorless and very clean, and clean water was always available.
The campsite was large and open enough to fit over 5 tents, and I enjoyed seeing the stars very clearly at night.
If I get the chance, I would love to come back with a group of friends to share this experience. Thank you DOUG for providing such a pleasant place to stay.

What a fantastic glamping spot! We had a great time and were so happy that our dogs could be off-leash and enjoy the semi-private beach. The lake is crystal clear and the whole vibe is incredibly tranquil. The site is well-maintained, the dry pit is clean, and the outdoor shower with hot water was a highlight. The solar power for basic lighting worked perfectly.
For future improvements, a portable fan would be a huge help, especially on hot summer nights, as it got a bit too warm inside the yurt. We also found that cooking inside wasn't realistic; the detached kitchen on the other yurt is a smart design.
Be warned about the roads! An AWD vehicle is a must from either D'Arcy or Lilooet, as some slopes are steep. The beach is a short walk away, but it's a 70m altitude change, which is tough with gear like a paddleboard. Lastly, be prepared for biting flies, which are naturally occurring and not a reflection of cleanliness.

We had a fantastic time at Carmen’s. It was very close to Anderson lake which was great for paddleboarding and swimming. Also about an hour from Joffre lake (now needs reservations). The camp was private and quiet.
