Collin’s Wood is a very special place indeed. The land was bought by my grandfather years ago when he moved to Canada from England and wanted to chase his log cabin dream. Our main cabin my family built from trees on the land, entirely by hand. We have photos of the trees being cut and the bark being peeled off. Since then, we’ve made many changes out there, we now have a guest cabin that used to be a Teacheridge (back when teachers would live in a one room building beside the school), eventually it was turned into a cafe and now it sits on our land as a guest cabin. This place is so magical. With a quarter section of land I grew up running through the forest with my friends and learning about what the land has to offer. My parents have spent every spare weekend out there making this paradise into what it is today. All the buildings were created by my family through labour and love. We’ve hosted weddings, and family reunions. We hope you appreciate how special this place is. Come see for yourself!

Located on 160 acres of rolling parkland east of Winfield, Alberta, Hidden Springs is a place to stay, play, and connect.Whether you’re seeking quiet time by yourself, or space to reconnect with friends and family, the Guesthouse is furnished to make you feel at home. Get cozy in front of the wood stove, spread a personal project out across the dining room table, settle into a puzzle or game, read on the deck, spend a day cooking, or watch the weather roll in across the valley.The Guesthouse is made up of two self-contained suites (upper and lower) connected by exterior stairs. The upper suite features a full kitchen (including stove, fridge, microwave and water cooler), a spacious living room, wood stove, and a large deck overlooking the valley. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway, surrounded by gardens and trees, with three acres to explore. Horse lovers are welcome, and bed and bale accommodations can be provided.
This one-bedroom private cabin is tucked away in a lush, green setting. Wake up to the sounds of birdsong and the horses neighing in the fields. Help yourself to Saskatoon berries, rhubarb, or apples when they're in season. Fresh-laid eggs will soon be available upon request.
We're just a few minutes from town and easy to find. Google Maps can be a bit confusing, as it lists the wrong postal code and town. Don't worry—the map pin will guide you to the right place.
We have two driveways separated by a white fence. Please use the second driveway, drive past the shop, and you'll see a building on the right. Feel free to pull up to the little porch—we aren't protective of the grass! The green door is your entrance. We'll leave the door unlocked on check-in days, and you'll find the key inside.

What a wonderful getaway! As someone camping solo for the first time they had everything i needed which made this mini getaway such a breeze. The area had endless trails to explore and so many options to enjoy. If you needed something Pat & Geri were close by to meet your needs. Cant get over the amount of options they have for anyone to enjoy! A hidden gem! Looking forward to returning!

Pat and Geri were wonderful hosts, the yurt was clean and comfortable. I have now stayed at their lovely property twice (once camping, and now this time in the yurt) and I will be back again! My friends have also all stayed at some point or another, and have all had excellent experiences. It truly is a retreat!

We had the best time staying here! My husband, my cat, and I loved every minute. The treehouse is so charming and cozy, and it's even cuter in person. You can tell a lot of thought went into all the little details—they really make the place feel special.

Weekend Trip to Collinswood Retreat
The yurt was a perfect mix of camping and glamping. I needed a weekend away that didn’t require all the work that usually goes with it and this was exactly that. Geri and Pat provided wood and the site had a bbq, plates, cutlery, some pots and pans, and a battery to charge my phone, and the yurt was so comfortable. My dogs and I got to explore the network of trails on the beautiful property and I loved that the yurt was secluded in the forest. I brought my own camping chair just for my own comfort but there are chairs and a picnic table. The outhouse was clean and didn’t smell. A tornado touched down north of the property (near Rocky Mountain House) and they made sure to message me to let me know that that was happening and that I could shelter with them if I need to. Just amazing hosts! I will be coming back!

Glamping at the Secret Sanctuary was lovely. A plethora of mosquitoes made it difficult to be outside much, but the yurt itself and other amenities were lovely and well-kept. The hosts were kind and responsive, and the property was fun to explore.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Hidden Springs, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The property is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and the perfect place to relax and unwind while still offering plenty of activities for the whole family.
Barbara is an exceptional host who truly goes above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome. She thought of every little detail to ensure we had a comfortable stay. When the mosquitoes became active in the evening, she proactively provided mosquito coils, and knowing we wanted to watch the World Cup, she even offered us her personal laptop so we wouldn’t miss the match. Her kindness, generosity, and genuine care for her guests made our stay even more memorable.
A special mention goes to her friendly dog, Fox, who quickly became a favorite with our kids. Fox spent time playing with them, and they absolutely loved every moment. The trampoline was another huge hit, keeping the kids entertained for hours.
One of the highlights of our stay was the sauna experience. It was incredibly relaxing and the perfect way to end the day. If you’re planning to stay at Hidden Springs, I highly recommend booking the sauna—it is absolutely worth it and adds a special touch to the overall experience.
We left Hidden Springs feeling refreshed and already talking about coming back. Thank you, Barbara, for your outstanding hospitality and for creating such a warm, welcoming place for families to enjoy. We highly recommend Hidden Springs.

What a beautiful relaxing spot!! The Happy Hut was the perfect size for me as a solo traveler and the bed was super comfortable. The outdoor bath was amazing, it took a while to fill to a comfortable level but that’s expected! Bathing in nature is a must! The bathroom was close by and very welcoming for an outdoor bathroom. No harsh smells and very clean.
The Happy Hut wasn’t as private as I thought however this actually worked out for me in the end, as a solo female traveler it was comforting to know I wasn’t completely isolated in the woods! Very much enjoyed my relaxed evening sitting by a fire and soaking up nature.

Weekend Trip to Collinswood Retreat
My experience at the yurt was exceptional. It was the perfect blend of camping and amenities. The barbecue, utensils, provided firewood (and axe), along with the roominess of the Yurt made for a carefree comfortable. The yurt is in a secluded clearing in the wood so you feel like there is nobody else around yet the area has a lot of trails in case you need to walk somewhere. The hosts were very friendly and I would definitely recommend this rental.

We absolutely loved camping here. Pat and Geri were so lovely and welcoming. On our first night we booked another weekend coming up. It’s our new favourite spot.
We spent a lot of time walking some of the trails and taking in nature.
They were also kind enough to lend us a hand when our car didn’t start as we were leaving. 10/10!

4 nights at Collinswood Retreat
This was the best possible place to spend a rainy long weekend with my dogs! Spent hours wandering the trails right there on the property and retreated back to the cozy cabin when the rain picked up. Loved sitting under the covered deck with a book and seeing the sunrise over the river valley, and the outdoor shower had an excellent view (and hot water). Made good use of the sauna and THOROUGHLY enjoyed my massage (do it, trust me!). The cabin was adorable, bed was very comfortable, and the blackout curtains meant I was able to sleep in past sunrise.

Weekend Trip to Hidden Springs Retreat & Guesthouse
My boyfriend and I had a very last minute booking but Barb was very kind and accommodating. We were lucky enough to have the whole space to ourselves well except for Barb’s dog, Fox, who is just the most affectionate and behaved companion out there. I would recommend booking the sauna it was very relaxing and for 2hrs it is quite worth the price, Barb even offered to let us shower in her house after if we wanted. The beds were very comfortable and provided plenty of warmth during the night. Overall it is a great site to book with lots of field and plenty of things to do.
