Quiet, majestic back to nature spot!
This is a place to get away from a busy life.
With close proximity to Winchell Lake, this land is ideal for fishing, hiking or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery.
We have 4 campsites available for tent or RV/trailer campers. If you're bringing an RV, we have two power outlets and water available. You will be parking on a field and the site requires levelling.
Electricity and firewood are both available for purchase (see extras below). Please add this to your reservation at the time of booking.
Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome. Potable water, picnic table, and outhouse are all available.
We have cows, goats, chickens, horses and dogs and cats on the property that
generally love people. :) I have only one dog and typically allow dogs to run off leash. We do have to be careful that it doesn't turn to a dog gang as this happened once and they took down one of my goats. The goats Hon and Chewy are okay but it took months for poor Hon to heal. I also worry about the chickens and the cats so please keep and eye on your dogs!
Lots of treed areas for private camping, horseback riding hiking and walking!
Bird watching is big around here as we are on a bird migratory path.
We are just above Winchell Lake and less than 10 km from Water Valley Golf Course and Saloon.
Please recognize that you are visiting a Ranch not a campsite. We are sharing our piece of heaven with you and you are helping to support our animals and their heaven.
Chickens are "True" Free Range and hand fed every morning. Eggs are $10 a dozen to pay for their feed. :)
Every spring the rain tends to cause ruts and washes out some of the road on the way to the back forty where the meadow is. We gather rocks on the property to fill the ditches but the early part of the year the roads can be bumpy. Please ask the conditions of the road when you book if you have concerns. Thanks!

Pik & Pak Fresh Vegetables is a 30-second walk from the property and is open 24/7. They offer fresh lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, microgreens, beets, apples, oranges, pears, potatoes, peppers, eggs, honey, gelato, pies, pizzas, chips, salsa, and much more. Great store! Local goodness!
There are 2 parks with tennis, paddleball, basketball, golf frisbee, badminton, horseshoes, gym, swings, and slides. Mini golf is across the road, and there are lots of walking trails and a burger and fries stand a 12-minute walk down the beach.
The Property
If you thought the village sounds amazing, check out the property! It is 1 acre and very private, with a 7-foot fence around 3/4 of the property and an open field at the back with horses. There are over 6 outdoor sitting areas, including decks, grass, a sandy beach, and beautiful flowers and trees. You'll enjoy the sight of squirrels, birds, wildlife, and the horses out back.

• 20’ Yurt: Fully equipped with 2 king-size mattresses, chairs, nightstands, water, and snacks.
• 420 Trailer: A fully powered 44’ 5th wheel trailer, fully stocked and converted into a 420 trailer with a blackout living room with tapestries, curtains, black light, and a stereo. The trailer has 1 bedroom, a couch, a day bed, a big full kitchen, and a bathroom with electricity and warm water. Note that there is no indoor toilet; the outdoor kitchen has hot water, and there is an outhouse out back.

Laura was an outstanding host. Not only did she invite us for Christmas dinner, but she showed my friend the true meaning of a Canadian Christmas. Her ranch is beautiful, with great walking trails through the trees. I’m excited to camp here come summer and spring time, what a beautiful place.

I rented The Beekeepers Inn for a weekend getaway for my wife and I and we're pleasantly surprised by the level of care that the owners put into the property along with the many amenities they also included! I had such a wonderful stay at Beekeepers Inn. From the moment I arrived, Eugena made me feel at home. She is such a welcoming and lovely host, and you can tell how much care she puts into every detail. We had a great time Glamping here with our two little boys! It was the perfect way to camp in comfort (and warmth) with them. The cabins/tents and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The Secret Sanctuary was an absolutely amazing place to visit. We were in awe of the land and the accommodations the entire time we were there. Our "tent" was outfitted with beautiful furniture, including lovely flooring and accents. More than I ever could have imagined, even for "glamping". Everything inside and out was clean and organized.
The outside shower was next level, what a truly amazing experience. Compost toilets are genius and I LOVED that there was a hand washing station outside of the washrooms.
We got lucky enough to have their dogs around a fair amount, and even got to see the Llama.
There is a fully outfitted outdoor play area, with forts, and swings, and slides, a sand pit, trampoline, and climbing area. The kids never wanted to leave. Denika even let us play inside with her daughter after checking out her store at the main property.
The communication was great, getting add-ons such as firewood and a generator/power pack thing was a breeze.
It is clear that this family cares deeply about their property, their guests, and the land. We are very lucky to have had this experience and cannot wait to go back.

Weekend Trip to The Secret Sanctuary
A huge thank you to Denika, Nic and Veona for their incredible hospitality and spirit. We stayed at Aspen glamping site - total magic. Secluded and special - tent was spacious and so comfortable. Add to that yummy breakfast and paddleboarding and you’ve got special memories that will never fade. All the other amenities were close at hand making the experience easy. We added yoga session with Sophia which was so fabulous. Not to mention their two dogs and sweet lama - Bowdie! He’s adorable. Thank you Secret Sanctuary for the lovely experience. We will be back.

Our family of 5 (kids 8, 6 and 5 years old) had the most amazing glamping experience! The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The entire property was so clean and well-organized, which made for a stress-free stay.
What truly made this trip unforgettable was the abundance of kid-friendly activities. Our children absolutely loved feeding the pigs and visiting the chicken pen and the llama. The trampoline and two fantastic play structures kept them entertained for hours, and the ropes courses were a huge hit. There was so much to do that we never heard a single 'I'm bored!'
We are already talking about our next visit. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Geodesic Dome At Sylvan Lake AB
A great glamping experience! The hosts were great, check in and out was easy. The dome was spacious, clean and many amenities were provided (coffee maker - kureig pods, sheets and comforter for the bed, fan, indoor seating, hair dryer). There was still ample room for us to set up a small table to wash dishes or play cards inside. The domes were located across from the bathrooms, which wasn't very loud. The RV park is located next to train tracks (fenced) which worried us, but the train never ran early morning or during the night. We only saw it go by mid-afternoon. We had a large rain and thunderstorm one night, which was loud, but the dome was pretty leak proof. Just a little condensation along the edge at the floor, and a small leak near the door. Which we reported and the hosts said they would have it resealed. Overall, we had an excellent stay and want to stay again next year.

The space is very clean, cozy, comfortable, peaceful. We enjoyed our privacy, the camp is safe & family friendly. It was our first camping experience and Denika was a huge helper, she answered all our questions even sometimes wasn’t really related to our booking. The camp is great choice if you want to experience of being camping but very suitable for families especially if you have little ones.
Denika’s family -all- were so welcoming and supportive. Her adorable girls are so sweet and great friends if you’ve little ones 🥰 We loved their quick response to change the compost toilet, refilling the water & ….etc
Their Homemade Breakfast is a must try, we couldn’t resist reordering it twice😋 Yoga session was relaxing.
We enjoyed the sandy beaches at Pigeon lake, Ma-Mo lake, hiking and we rent a water paddle. The Nature Shower was our daily treat after barbecuing and playing.
Everything is near by and accessible (15 mins) grocery, clothing, gas station, …. so don’t overpack.

2 nights at The Secret Sanctuary
My daughter and I did a girl’s trip here at Secret Sanctuary and it didn’t disappoint. My daughter loved all the animals, especially the llama. I loved the tranquility and beauty around us. We enjoyed little jaunts to Twin Lakes, Village at Pigeon Lake, and went for pedicures by someone recommended by Denika. Had a great time!

2 nights at Geodesic Dome At Sylvan Lake AB
Really better than expected! The bathrooms had paid $2 showers, bathrooms kept very clean for a campsite. The dome itself was very spacious, lots of great extra amenities provided such as a fan, heater, lamps, coffee, cups, cutlery, beach towels, and more! We brought a galaxy light which made for the most beautiful evenings! A few spiders, so be prepared to make some 8 leg friends, but this is expected as it is very much a large tent in nature. Such a wonderful time overall!

2 nights at Rough Diamond Ranch Alberta
Lovely views, lots of room for the dogs to run in the pastures. Laura and her team were all very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend!
