My son and I bicycled the OTET and stayed at Turkey Hollow Campground on Day 4 of our ride. We came off trail onto Routes 92 to 83 to 102 (which is a gravel road). Route 102 from this direction is kind of tough, but shorter, steeper, and more direct to the campground. There is also a switchback going to the campground once you leave 102. We met our friendly host, Matt, upon arrival. Once you are there, the tent camping area is fabulous! Spacious flat area, soft green grass, tall trees provide shade, picnic tables, fire pits, port-a-potty near the barn, and barn kittens to play with! The water was good, with no sulfur smell we had encountered at other campsites (we are used to municipal water). The showers are quite interesting and definitely make for funny memories of staying here - in a good way - you just have to have a sense of humor. He also has two nice cabins with woodstoves, if tent camping is not your thing. Leaving the next morning, we followed Matt’s directions of turning right out of his driveway and followed Route 102 to 58 – all paved and down hill – to the traffic light across from Walmart. We cut through the parking lot and used the Amish Access Road back to the trail. We made a quick stop at Jitters Coffee House before crossing at the traffic light – great muffins and coffee! Happy and safe pedaling!!
Loved the scenic layout.!! Quite peaceful !! Close to a town if u forgot anything. Firepit was clean and nice picnic table For camping needs.

Take the north route due to road surfaces. If riding a bicycle fully-loaded.. Restraing the same down the ballast road is hike-a-bike downhill. Bikepackers had no problem. Great getaway all the same though.

Very comfortable site. Fun animals. Would recommend and stay at Turkey Hollow again.
We absolutely loved this place! It was beautiful, peaceful, and truly felt like a real experience in nature. We especially loved that it wasn’t the typical campground packed with RVs. We really felt connected to nature and enjoyed every part of our stay.
If you’re someone who truly enjoys being outdoors and having an authentic nature experience, this is the perfect place. Please keep it just the way it is—no RVs! We will definitely be coming back. It was also very easy to find.

It was a beautiful area and it was nice to walk around the grounds. But the campsites were pretty close together and it sounded like there was some kind of racing going on not too far in the distance late at night. It was decent, but I would not pay $60 for it again. Next time I’ll book at Mohican state park before it fills up
My family had a great time this weekend with the family at Kermits bottom! Weather wasnt always happy..but it was beautiful! An outdoor sink (with hot water), electric, and a decently sized pavilion when the weather didnt permit. Lovely town (check out the farmers markets!!) We would love to visit again!
Awesome atmosphere !! Very laid back quite peaceful. If ur coming outta state loved the easy wood access. The Town is just 5 min anything u might need if its food u want or even something u night have forgot to bring !!

Super peaceful and cozy campsite.
Taking the northern road to get here is recommended as it's wider and easier to drive on.
Facilities include well water, restrooms, and electricity. No showers, but wiping down works just fine. It has everything you need.
Local kids play nearby, and a friendly little kitten even came over to greet me. It's nice to chat with other campers, talk with the locals, or just hang out with the cat.
Be sure to check out Jitter Coffee House in Millersburg nearby, too!
P.S. On the evening of August 4th, fireflies were dancing in the air (^_^)
After a ling day with lits of hills southbound on the OTET we hesitated going up one more big hill (about 300ft) but I’m so glad we did! Matt met us at the entrance and we asked him if he could help us down the long gravel driveway to the cabins. He was so nice he even offered to help us ladies back up in the morning. It rained the night we were there but we were cozy in the perfectly dry and well ventilated cabin. Simple, but perfect for us! The property was beautiful and Matt was so nice.

Overall overpriced for a place in the woods. Nobody tells you when you pay an extra 5 dollars for electric that there only 2 places close to the oulets and you would need a lot of extension cords to get electric for the other places. Little pond was disgusted green and ith have of it covered with some kind brown layer No way I would put my big toe in that water will never use hicamp campgrounds again advertising sure not correct

Rustic Camping in Turkey Hollow
Just not my idea of camping. Way too noisy. I think there’s a raceway nearby and you could hear the cars racing Friday evening and people partying till 3 am in the group camping area. Sites were ok but not much privacy when the campground was full. Owner was also cutting logs for about 4 hours straight when I arrived. I get that it’s a working farm but I expected cows mooing and roosters crowing instead of chainsaws for 4 friggin hours!

Turkey Hollow is a rustic, quiet spot on the woods. We enjoyed our stay. Matt is a great host with a helpful, friendly attitude. We were surprised by the primitive showers, but the real back woodsy feel made up for it. Thank you, Matt!
I loved this camping trip as it was my family’s first ever camping experience together.

Beautiful setting, not bike friendly at all!
Would not recommend to any sane biker. Also, cameras everywhere with no where to change privately. Pond seemed unswimmable (just fyi in mid-July).
Excellent to camp! We brought a tent and spent a night. Matt's communication is excellent. We had power for a small fan and to charge our phones, water nearby and wood for our fire. Would highly recommend!
My Fiancé and I had a wonderful time tent camping. Property is beautiful.

Matt is a great owner, very nice to talk to. We had pretty heavy rains both nights we were there and he offered for us to move over to his cabins the second night. That was so helpful! The cabins and the 4x4 sites have an especially pretty view! Highly recommend if you have a vehicle that can handle the off road sites.

Well kempt campsites, two spots to get water, an electrical box, a clean restroom and just a quick detour off the bike path? What more could I ask for. A+
And there is a Walmart right by for restocking.
Definitely a must stay if you’re doing the OTET like myself.

Nice place to camp. Would go back. Dog friendly and had clean portapotty
If you are on a bike pulling a trailer recognize that you will have to ride up a very step gravel road for a mile! THEN to get to the camp site you will have to drop down into a steep valley. It is beautiful but NOT worth the effort on a bike. When I asked questions of the host regarding these details I did not get useful information to make my decision.

The campground itself is lovely. Not a lot of privacy, but it's beautiful, warm showers, plenty of places to charge phones, etc. However, if you're coming by bike, the "driveway" (the part once you're on the property) is long, steep and filled with large loose gravel. I was not able to ride up or down it. Not ideal for those on a bike.
Unfortunately we weren't able to stay. The one site with electricity that we were able to access in our camper van was not level. I agree with host that having 4 WD is almost a must
Turkey Hollow was fun! Our campsite was beautiful, the firewood was nearby, and we paid a little extra for electricity to charge our bikes. We came up the tall hill. I might recommend driving to this location rather than biking. Thanks again!!
