We really enjoyed our time here. It was peaceful and had everything we needed to rest. Lots of wildlife to see! Elk, deer, and all manner of little critters. Even the horses and cows came over to say, “Hi!” 10/10 would stay again!
Had a job in fort McLeod and found this spot for my RV. Was very comfortable. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Accommodating and friendly hosts. I'd definitely recommend this place to others
Even though you are parking in there side yard you feel like you are all alone. It's nice to have a bathhouse with super hot water. Conner and the whole family were super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Made you feel right at home
Conner was a great host. Communications were quick and efficient. He checked in on us regularly during our trip, answered all of our questions and provided suggestions on things to see and do.
We enjoyed the dogs, the cats, the horses and all of the birds including owls and falcons. Access to the three piece bathroom was a nice bonus.
The ranch was easy to find and the hosts were all extremely welcoming (human and fur alike!). Marvin and Connor both made sure to introduce themselves, show us around, and make sure we had everything we needed. The camping area is nicely shaded and protected from the wind, so it's easy to enjoy your stay no matter the weather. Definitely would stay here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Blue Rein Ranch. It was very peaceful and beautiful. Just what we needed after 5 long days of traveling from Alaska.
Conner was a wonderful host and made us feel like family.
We look forward to going back and staying longer next time.
We loved spending time at this range. The animals are friendly, the location of the camping spot in the grass is nice as well. There were quite some ants but they did not get into our van so no issues.
The evening with his family around the campfire was one to remember.
Thanks Connor for being such a great host!
Easily 5 stars. It's a family run ranch, and they were so incredibly friendly from the moment we got there. They go on with their day to day things, but you're free to wander the property. It was a great stepping stone for our trip to Waterton. And Nova the dog is super friendly. He even came on an evening stroll with us and our dog. Peaceful and quiet at night. Thanks for having us!
Site is pretty basic with non-potable water and only 15 amp power but kind and welcoming hosts… human and four-legged. If you love dogs or animals of all kinds, you will enjoy your stay.
Great experience., the host was awesome and being around all the animals was very peaceful. It’s a therapy ranch too. I would definitely come back for another stay when we are in the area.
After a few miles on gravel roads through open farmland, the ranch drive dips into a protected farmstead. I loved my campsite under the trees, and the chance to sit around a campfire talking with welcoming hosts. I appreciated access to a warm shower and use of refrigerator until I could restock my ice chest. This is no fancy RV resort, It is a warm and very casual introduction to rural Alberta.
The best hip camp experience we’ve had so far! Lovely ranch doing amazing work to help people. Our little boy loved meeting all the animals, the dogs are so sweet and will be your biggest welcome party!
Conner gave me a horse riding lesson which was awesome and we had a campsite with the family and some great chats. Highly recommend!
I stayed one night at Conner’s HipCamp. It was a nice change from the RV camping I had been doing. I loved the quiet and staying at the Ranch. Rangler and Rosie were very friendly and kept me company. Conner was a great host and I even though I did not use the hydro/water it was available if needed.
We had an amazing stay At the ranch! The hosts were wonderful, friendly and full of great advice. My daughter even took a riding lesson. We had a gorgeous sunset. The views and animals were great. The site was perfect and the Bathroom clean. We would definitely love to come back.
What a great spot! Not only is the ranch itself lovely but they’ve put a real effort into creating a lovely spot for Hip Campers to sit by a fire ring. Hot shower? Yes! And when I had a power emergency they were incredibly helpful.
Conner came out to greet us and point to the camping area. We could only stay one night but it was easy, level parking. The treed setting is wonderful and we felt protected from some of the winds frim a passing storm. We couldn't use the large fire pit provided due to the rainy night, but it is a very nice feature to have. We also enjoyed our conversation with Marcus (Conner's brother) and he showed us some his vehicle rebuilds. We had looked up the ranches' Facebook site and saw great reviews for their packaged grass fed steaks,...so we asked if we could buy some. In fact, we enjoyed two of them for dinner tonight at our next campground, and they were delicious! It was another fun Hipcamp experience!
This is everything you would expect from a ranch experience and more. Conner was welcoming and made sure we were set up. The next morning we had a session with horse riding for our granddaughter. It was very apparent that Conner knew what he was doing and how to work with animals and children. We enjoyed our time at Blue Rein Ranch and will come again. The only issue we had was a circuit breaker blew. The family insured it was looked into immediately.
Home away from home! What a beautiful place with such a welcoming family! I couldn’t recommend more! The ranch is lovely with everything you could need! We enjoyed our stay so much we never wanted to leave! My daughter became best friends with the dogs such lovely temperament! We also got the pleasure of purchasing some of the grass fed beef which was AMAZING! We will definitely keep in contact with this lovely family they are now going to be friends for life! ❤️
A great place to come with your family or retreat on your own and soak up the land and the love from all the animals. Our host was awesome, as was everyone on the property - they genuinely care about the well-being of all beings. Great for stargazing at night too. Very peaceful. Check out their grass fed and grass finished beef, and we also did horse riding and ranch tour. Highly recommend!
So this was my very first Hipcamp experience. Where to start…do you love dogs? Good! So do I! And let me tell you they have the most amazing dogs. They stayed with us by the fire for most of the night. It made me miss my three dogs a little less. The owners of the Blue Rein Ranch we awesome and hospitable. Making sure we had everything we needed before leaving us to enjoy the peacefulness of this place. There was a lot to see, like the dogs (duh!) but also horses, including baby ones and chickens. They provided us with power and water (not potable, but water to clean dishes) and also an indoor bathroom with a shower. Thank you Blue Rein Ranch for making this experience amazing. A must stay at place if you are headed that way.
Blue Rein Ranch is a really fun experience. Stopped here with our family and dog on our summer road trip— Marvin and family were such accommodating hosts, checking on us, joining us for fireside conversation and even offering a horseback riding lesson for our daughters during our stay. Bonus for having a real bathroom for use in the bunkhouse. Would definitely recommend Blue Rein for anyone camping in the area!
The family is awesome. Their bunk house with a shower and washroom was a very nice to have. The family also provided firewood for the fire pit. The family came out to join us at the fire. They were so nice and it was awesome to hear about their farm.
I highly recommend this ranch. It well worth the visit
Great little spot nestled amongst some fir trees with a fire pit. Directions are easy to find. Host is more than accommodating and prompt with messages. Horses, cows and a lone rooster walking around
Camping at the ranch of Marvin was a wonderful experience! We loved every minute of their hospitality. It was nice and quiet, they made a camp fire and the next day we did a horseride on their beautiful terrain. Staying here is a really nice way of seeing Alberta!
