Overview

About

Embark on an adventure to Turtle Group National Park, a remote oasis where the wild beauty of Tropical North Queensland awaits. Here, nature enthusiasts can immerse themselves in birdwatching, explore untouched beaches, and camp amid the serenity of the park's islands. With no defined campgrounds, visitors must be self-sufficient, carrying in all necessities and leaving no trace behind.

When to go

The best time to visit Turtle Group National Park is during the cooler, less humid months from April to September. Summer brings higher temperatures and humidity, making the winter months more comfortable for exploration and camping.

Know before you go

  • Carry drinking water and a comprehensive first-aid kit as there are no facilities on the islands.
  • Be crocwise—crocodiles can be present, and caution is advised in and around the water.
  • Protect against marine stingers by wearing a full-body lycra suit when in the water.
  • Remember, domestic animals are not allowed within the national park.
  • Check the Bureau of Meteorology for weather forecasts before your visit.
