KUR-Cow Farm was once known as Barnwell Farm. Coffee was extensively grown throughout the Kuranda/Myola region in the early 1890's until frosts wiped out large numbers crops in the early 1900's. Robert William Warren purchased portions of the land at Barnwell in the 1890s and established a coffee plantation on the property which was named "Downtown Farm." Dairy cattle were bought to Barnwell by William Henry Barnwell in 1936 and by 1939 he had managed to successfully establish for a dairy farmer and was advertising for a dairy hand with remuneration of 25 shillings per week and keep. Dairy cattle remained on the property until some point following World War II. It has been said that William Henry Barnwell was one of the earliest cattle farmers in the Myola and Kuranda areas to carry Droughtmaster cattle. He was well regarded as a 'cattle man' in the Myola area. Opening to public in August 2018, Barnwell Farm now welcome visitors daily from all over the world. Offering its guests an interactive, Australia cattle experience with a little adventure thrown in also and exquisite cuisine. Our accommodation consist of 2 cabins sleep 2 adult and 2 children, the room is not interconnect but fence with our private court yard for dinning. Price include Petting Zoo entry for 2 adult and 2 children. Guided Horse riding and ATV tour is available daily and minimum age is 4 years old for horse riding and 6 years old for ATV. Lunch is available on Saturday and Sunday. Sunset Wagyu BBQ offer daily.

Weekend Trip to Archerview Farmstay-Wild River Camp

Unfortunately Jacob wants to charge me for a rotting sliding door that's officially given way as the shed we hired is full of mould and rotten, half smashed furniture with black grime and dead insects everywhere The shade sail will keep you awake all night banging as that's also rotten and collapsing. The oven is very dangerous rusty relic and has exposed wires and fault that woudnt stop igniting. There's exposed wires, ceiling insulating is falling down and the place shorts when you switch the lights on. Jacobs land does need a lot of work doing to it and is very noisy with dogs barking constantly. The creek was nice and we also enjoyed the fire. It is a very hard place to find even with Jacob's and Googles directions.

The Bush Camp had everything you could need. The bedroom has a bed as well as a single mattress, the kitchen has a fridge, stove and any utensils you'll need. All you really need to bring is chairs. Will definitely be booking again.

Jacob got a really nice place. Not too far from nearest town Ravenshoe but still feels like away from the whole world. No phone reception, which was really nice and relaxing. The beautiful river is just 1-2 minutes walk away. The shed got a small room with bed as well. Kitchen was well equipped. We had fun and enjoyed every second of our stay.

Weekend Trip to 3 Bares Retreat

A very welcoming place where the owners Steve and Jacq are absolutely lovely. We stayed in the on-site caravan which was very clean and comfortable. On the outdoor porch we had our own fridge, sink, bbq and a lovely view of the rainforest. There’s also a fully equiped common kitchen area and very clean toilets and showers. It was our little puppy Poppy’s first trip away and she was barking at most sounds but Jacq was so lovely to reassure us that we were far enough away from others not to disturb them. Poppy also enjoyed a dip in the river which is a 2 min walk from the caravan. We felt very comfortable and safe with the clothing being optional even though we didn’t have ours off. We will definitely be back. Thank you for creating a safe space for all.

Wow ‘s experience at Kurcow farm stay. Amazing scenes from morning to evening . Great escape journey from city and work life , walk distance to the nature of rainforest and wildlife( horse , cows, ponny, goats….) . Amazing hosts Ken and Helen are very welcome for our visit. Spent a couple of nights at Kur-Cow over the holidays. The hosts Ken and Helen was so kind and very accommodating. Kids got to do a few activities, they had an absolute blast . Good place to disconnect from my busy lifestyle.
