Unfortunately the campsite was very difficult
To find because the directions listed on the app do not match the posted road signs in any way. We were unable to find the campsite in the dark and continued on to Gascoyne Junction to camp for 2 nights as we didn’t feel it was safe to continue with the number of Roos that were on the road while we were travelling. We were actually on the correct road, but because nothing we saw matched the given directions, we doubted ourselves and turned around.

We were unable to find the camp as the directions provided were inaccurate and unhelpful. We were travelling at night and the roads used as part of the directions were unmarked although there were other signs, they were not used as part of the directions. We travelled 4km down a dirt road looking for the campsite before turning around. We looked again two days later in the daylights and the first campsite sign is at 4.6km. This is unhelpful and the host did not respond when we contacted them.
Updated directions could be:
131km on Carnarvon-Mullewa road
Turn left at the Kennedy Range Loop sign, follow dirt road, taking the right hand fork. Continue for 4.6km then follow the sign for the camp.
Alternatively, more Winnemia Campsite signs from the main road....

We had a great stay here! If you are looking for somewhere remote and not afraid to get a little dusty this place was incredible to explore. The facilities were good with flushing toilets and a shower. We camped right next to the 'shed' which had some interesting things to look at inside. There was no clear indication of where the campsites were, so a map or some information at the campsite would be helpful. A short walk around the fence leads you down to a beautiful riverbed with scattered spots for swimming and endless gums and paperbarks for shade. This spot is ideal for 4WD enthusiasts as it is located just before the Kennedy Range NP off road track, only suitable for 4WD with high clearance and starts off with a fun river crossing! The sunsets through the trees for as far as the eye can see was breathtaking.
