Experience Nature on Our 400-Acre Sheep Farm in WA’s Great Southern Region Escape to our expansive 400-acre sheep farm, just 5 km south of Mount Barker. Perfectly positioned along the highway yet tucked away in a serene setting, this property offers an ideal retreat for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Choose from a variety of stunning landscapes for your campsite: open, grassy paddocks where you can soak in the sun or shaded bush areas that invite you to unwind amidst the trees. The farm is ideally located for a perfect mix of hiking, winery visits, and beach days. You'll have easy access to the stunning Stirling Ranges and Porongurup National Park, along with renowned wine regions featuring numerous wineries to explore. And when you’re ready for some sun and surf, amazing beaches are just a short drive away, providing the ideal spot for relaxation and seaside adventures. With nearby attractions in Albany (54 km) and Denmark (43 km), you can explore the beauty of the Great Southern region while having a comfortable base to return to. Please note that we cannot provide facilities such as power, water, or toilets, ensuring a truly off-grid, authentic camping experience for those who want to connect with nature. Whether you prefer pitching a tent, parking your camper, or setting up a caravan, our farm offers a peaceful escape with wide open spaces and stunning views. Additionally, we have sheep on the property. While they are generally shy and tend to avoid interaction, they can get curious from time to time. They are well managed, but please be aware that we cannot take responsibility for any damage that may be caused by the sheep. This is part of the farm’s charm and adds to the rural experience. Please also note that the driveway is located directly off Albany Highway, in a slightly tricky spot. The gate is approximately 18 meters from the highway, so we recommend taking extra care when entering or exiting the property. This is the perfect spot for self-sufficient campers who value serenity and the chance to disconnect from modern amenities while enjoying the beauty of the Great Southern Region.     We loved camping at Normies! It's well located for exploring the area and the night skies and sunsets were amazing. It was so lovely to be secluded and self sufficient. Stef was flexible and great to communicate with too.

    Perfect location to explore Mount Barker, Porongurup and Stirling Range National Park, and only 30min drive down to Albany. Great outlook from camp, with no one else in sight.

    The best little retreat amongst nature! We stayed here for 6 nights as our base in and around Albany and it was perfect. Having all the Sheep around is awesome. Waking up to them surrounding our camp! We were also insanely fortunate to experience an Aurora on our stay, and i believe this spot made it an epic show for us. Definitely recommend 🤌🏻

    Good spot under the stars for New Year. We found it easily as our host pin dropped the location in a message. Probably be a better spot autumn or winter when not so dry.

    Google took us to the wrong gate and although we double checked the property address to that on the sign at the gate, we ended up setting up camp in the wrong spot. Stefanie however was terribly kind and allowed us to stay and save having to pack up and move. Although we loved our spot, we did go and look at the proper camp and it is fantastic. And all close enough for day trips to the popular tourist spots. Camp gate a few hundred metres North of the gate Google took us to and look for the timber signs that says "Camp".

    Staying on this 400 acre property was amazing so peaceful & quiet. We had morning & evening visits from the sheep 🐑. The sweeping views in the distance of the Stirling Ranges were amazing.

    Lovely peaceful location with great outlook. Entry is difficult to locate. It is 300m south of Yerriminup Rd. A second turn into a water tank is approx. 70m further south.

    I recently stayed at Normies campsite, and it was fantastic! The huge open field gave us the freedom to pitch our tent wherever we wanted, which made it feel really relaxed and flexible. The views were incredible – we were surrounded by lovely rolling hills, and we could even see Mount Barker in the distance, which made for some beautiful sunsets. It was peaceful, spacious, and perfect for anyone looking to escape and enjoy the outdoors. I’d definitely recommend Normies for a laid-back camping experience!
