Our property is located in the heart of Condingup on a 3-acre lifestyle block. You will have a spacious area to pull up to with trees and bushes surrounding you. We are close to the most pristine beaches surrounding this area, national park and more....... We allow pets but only on approval so please check with us before you bring it along. The beaches are of the sort seldom seen. Out and about one can look for miles and see nothing but nature, free of the bustling Esperance crowds. Take a look at some of our local photographs....

Our property is located in the small community of Condingup township and offers a large grassy campsite in a peaceful location. We are not a farm but are a hobby farm where 2 acres is available for campers. NO toilet and Shower amenities are on our sites so please make sure you have these to camp. Earth friendly products for gray water disposal if it is not contained. We sell fresh farm eggs for $5 and offer fresh fruit/ veggies in season as well. The local township has a community oval, new tennis court, lawn bowls, playground and a local tavern with great food and plenty of friendly locals. There is also a small grocery shop with most necessities. (Advise to stock up in town-Cheaper) The Cape Le Grand National Park is a 30-minute drive and has plenty of walking tracks and stunning beaches. Stunning Wharton Bay is only a 15-20 minute drive and if you get lucky you may spot/swim with some dolphins. The area also offers a winery, great fishing, rock climbing, 4WD and amazing snorkeling. We are only a 25/-minute drive from Esperance. Please note if you bring a pet, it must be friendly towards other animals on our property and supervised at all times thanks. Campfires are permitted in the designated area and only outside of fire restrictions. Pets are welcome but please ensure they are under your control and must be friendly towards other animals. The property has sheep, ducks, chooks, cats and friendly dogs. A great sturdy kennel is available if you need to leave your pet while you go adventuring. Mark, our permanent camper, has offered to sit for you if necessary. The camp area is approximately 2 acres. The property has ring lock fencing and is secure. ***************************************Please NOTE: There is only Telstra Phone reception in Condingup. Please plan accordingly. Powered sites have a 12.00 fee to provide a generator mostly for charging, etc for 1 to 2 hours approximately. This is a service that must be scheduled to be convenient to all parties (other campers considered)Thank You.

This site has a grassy area, sandy in summer. Flat Terraine surrounded by trees and bush. Just a typical hobby farm vibe. A water tank close by and wood available for the pit fire over in a pile by veggie garden. It will need splitting. Plenty of pine cones to help start the fire. Been like a hobby farm our pet's free range so if you have a dog that isn't friendly towards other animals this Hip Camp is not for you. The local tavern is just around the corner, there is also a winery close by for those who love their wines. Our pristine beaches are worth the drive, only a 15-minute drive away. A wonderful area to enjoy some camping.

Please ask what exactly the type of dog they would accept. A long way to drive for them to say “No, your dog is not compatible with our dogs.

This is a lovely place to stay and all the people here are very friendly and helpful and it is so peaceful but this is basically a paid free camp and there are no facilities at all so you have to be fully self sufficient

Had a great time at ‘me mates place’ got to Esperance after crossing the Nullarbor only to find the place crowded with no room anywhere to stay. Hipcamp saved the day, had the place to ourselves, nice setup with camp fire and friendly dogs and other animals. Marie was excellent and very helpful, we had dinner in the tavern which was also very good. Stayed for three nights, the beach at Wharton was amazing with white sand and small waves, very beautiful scenery and no crowds. Driving on the beach was fun and easy and as it’s not in the national park we could take our dog everywhere. Highly recommend this camp. So glad Esperance was full.

Endroit tranquil où nous avons bien dormi même si réveillés par les coqs. Nous avons pu faire un super feu de camp 👌 C'est quand même un peu cher pour seulement se garer pour la nuit pour un selfcontained.

We had a great stay here. Marie and family were lovely, but not intrusive. Their dogs were friendly and visited us often but were not a bother at all, our kids loved playing with them. Enjoyed our stay here and van felt secure.

Marie and Mark were very helpful and the site was peaceful as I was the only one there. The camp fire under the stars with no screaming kids was a joy. I was 15 minutes from Wharton Beach which was the reason for me booking here. I would definitely come again and recommend to anyone. Thanks Marie and Mark.

We had an amazing time at me mates place saw some native birds and was lucky enough to to be visited by a pair of red capped parrots. Enjoyed the vineyard and beautiful beaches in the area, the kids got to feed the animals as well. Would definitely come again.

Great place to stay near some of the best beaches on WA. Wharton beach is amazing and after a day in the sun and water you can head back to the local Condingup Tavern. Beautiful little hobby farm stay. We are dog people, but if you don't appreciate a few mid to large size dogs wanting you to throw a ball or ask for pats at your door step maybe not for you. Marie is a great host and gave us plenty of friendly and helpful advice.

Great spot to stop over for a couple of nights. Very friendly dogs, sheep, ducks and chickens! Friendly hosts who made our stay enjoyable. Short drive to Wharton Beach and a 1 minute drive to the pub!

I didn’t realise that our camp was in a semi built up area. I thought that $30 was expensive for what we had. Maree, our host was lovely and suggested that the pub which was in walking distance would be good for a meal.

A peaceful spot, shaded if you need it. Short walk to town and the tavern. Good base for exploring the area. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

Hosts were really nice and had a good chat on arrival. Fake grass mats free to use to keep the sand out was super helpful. Hosts were really helpful with advice and even pulled us out of a bog. Would highly recommend. Super close to Wharton beach

Great location close to some of the most amazing beaches in Cape Le Grand. We loved cuddling the friendly dogs and saying hello to the sheep each day. Just be prepared for the early morning wake up call from the rooster! Thanks Marie and Sonny :)

We planned on staying 3 nights, but left one night early. You must be self contained (no toilets at site), which is generally fine, but not for 30$ per night. The public toilets at the oval are a 10 min walk away. The advertised water is from a rainwater tank, which you have to climb over a fence with a no entry sign on it. The dogs are nice, but be prepared to have them sitting beside you while you try to enjoy some food. The whole area is fenced in and you have to open two gates right beside the hosts caravan, which made us feel like we were locked in. Also we had no cell reception. On the plus side, the local tavern is really good and the camp is only 20 mins away from Wharton beach, which is just amazing.

Thanks so much to Marie, Mark, Rex, Hickey, Pepper, and the menagerie of other friendly dogs, cats, ducks, chickens and sheep, for making us feel so welcome and having us while we explored Cape Le Grande. Great peaceful spot. Would stay again in an instant. Hosts so welcoming and engaging with the kids, even had a lovely yarn with the permanent camper who was also lovely. Kids loved playing with/harassing the friendly dogs. Great location to beat the crowds to Wharton Beach first thing in the morning and the local tavern is walkable and superb for a country tavern.

Our family of 10 camped at ‘Me Mates Place’ for 4 AMAZING days. Maria and Sonny were so accommodating, they couldn’t do enough for us. We are an ocean loving family and Maria was very knowledgeable about the area including where to go and get abalone and fish. This is a farm stay, so be prepared for the early morning wake up call from the rooster, owls hooting, dogs barking and chickens clucking lol! It took some getting to use to but we loved it by the end of our stay. Would highly recommend ‘Me Mates Place’ if it’s amazing beaches you are wanting to visit as it is quite a drive to and from Esperance.

Very welcoming but could have been more proactive in offering up the water and generator that was advertised for the site when we arrived. We had to ask the following morning about the water and the genie was never mentioned. Mozzies caused some grief and we decided to move on with our travels rather than staying for the second night of our booking.

As soon as we arrived Marie greeted us at the gate and made us feel so at home. We camped in the field next to sheep and her lovely dogs were a great addition to cuddle. Had everything we needed for our self contained campervan, and even rented their generator for a hour or two. Great location and instructions to check in. Would stay again.
