Sherwood Cottage is located on 15 acres of lush grounds and although the gardens are still being developed, we boast a majestic 100+ year old oak tree reportedly grown from an acorn originated from Sherwood Forrest, England. The private residence 'Sherwood Cottage' is noted on the City of Albany Heritage Inventory. Post WW11 period, it is a charming rural Australian style cottage constructed of weatherboard timber and corrugated iron roof. Our secluded camp spots are nestled under native trees alongside the meandering Creek. Open grasses areas are available for 'drive through' caravan parking. Additional camping spots  are accessed via a small bridge. Access is limited to cars and small campers  only. Once you have crossed the creek, you can choose where to camp. The terrain is parkland cleared paddock, shaded by melaleuca. The creek runs closely by and can be heard trickling all year round. We have a large area for caravans, however we do like to offer our campers as much privacy as we can, so will only have two or three larger vehicles and /or vans in this area at a time.  As we are at the beginning of our journey to welcome campers, we have no facilities available at present. Campers will need to BYO everything and have their own porta-loo and dispose of their rubbish. Any human or pet excrement found in bush or paddocks will incur additional Hipcamp clean up & dogwash fees. the dogs will locate any waste left. Fire restrictions apply as per local gov and DFES notifications. Firewood and a fire-pit can be supplied, when permitted, for a small additional charge. One friendly dog per site. As our 'girls' (chickens) and ducks are free range along with numerous visiting wild birds, dogs are required to be on a leash at ALL times. Horses welcome. Must supply own portable yards/fencing. Our dog "Finn" is a frequent visitor to the campsites. He likes to ensure his property is safe and does a  'perimeter inspection' each morning. He is friendly, but quite large. PLEASE NOTE: ### DO NOT use our bush as a toilet. Clean- up fees will be charged (including Dog wash costs, as the dogs will locate any excrement.)  THERE IS A VERY LARGE WORKING WATER- WHEEL IN THE CREEK. This was hand build by Dave  It is NOT fenced. There is open water and working windmills on the property,  CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES. For safety reasons the Windmill towers and waterwheel are not to be touched. The beautiful King River is a 5 minute drive away, the Kalgan River 10 minutes and numerous beaches to choose from all within a 20 minute drive.
