Excellent hosts and site 1 was an excellent. Very easy to drive in and reverse into. The site was very spacious, level and with privacy. A must is to visit Gurneys' Cidery nearby, it was recommended by Bill. It had great pizza, drinks and beautiful gardens with a great view. Definitely be back to stay again

Loved our stay at this property. Great place to start your Hipcamp and or your caravanning journey. It’s was a nice place to have a stress free trip to get the ins and outs of our new caravan. And a plus our dogs are still exhausted from the off lead paddock nearby. Option to buy Firewood, with a pit on your site, and also available to purchase fresh eggs is a nice touch. Will be back and will recommend to our friends and family, Thanks Troy, Laura and Bill

We had an incredible weekend at this hip camp. We loved the quiet, the surroundings and added touch of having fresh free range eggs & firewood available to purchase. It felt safe and private. It was easy to find with the clear directions from the hosts- they were super friendly & informative of local attractions/ sites in the area. Thank you Laura , Troy & King Billy. Would definitely recommend 🙂

Off-grid Relaxation...

Easy access to Site 3. Nice big fire pit although it was a bit too windy for us when we were there. The site is a little shady for solar in the winter but we wanted to be off-grid. Still got a good bit of sun in the middle of the day. Laura was friendly and came over to check we were all good. Love the big bag of wood for $10 and a dozen lovely eggs for $5. Enjoyed easy access to Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, Inverloch, the Fish Creek Hotel and Trulli at Meeniyan. Would like to come back when the weather is a little warmer :)

A PERFECT FARM ESCAPE

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night escape at Troy & Laura’s property. It’s a little hidden gem of just 3 camp spots, that are not too far from each other but still afford enough privacy. Wild Bill was so welcoming and just one of the nicest treasures you could meet. Our two spoilt dogs absolutely loved meeting and playing with the super friendly farm dog, Chloe, Molly & Tex. We had site one and I noticed a comment from a previous guest re site size. Can we suggest that if you follow Troy & Laura’s directions on how to park in this spot, you will not go wrong. Just follow it to the letter. They provide very clear instructions. We have a “22 foot van and a huge tow vehicle and had no issue parking. Beautiful trees, the dam and your view overlooking the farm land, with visiting friendly cows, makes it so serene. They are incredibly thoughtful by having a great fire pit, and a movable table and bench seating, to suit where ever you decide to set up. Site 1 has power and for your convenience they have a honesty container to buy $5 eggs (the best!!), wood and kindling. There are even a great selection of books to choose from. The farm is in a magnificent position to visit Wilson’s Prom & exploring this region. Highly recommend Gurney’s (rated best cidery in Australia!) and they are dog friendly! Well done Troy and Laura for creating this little escape. This gorgeous couple are a delight to chat with and we absolutely recommend this spot & will visit again for sure.

Second time staying at JU Buffalo! Laura and Troy are great hosts and took the time to say hello and make sure we were all good. Booked two sites to spend the weekend with our friends and had a great time. Very peaceful site and great setting. Lots to do in the area! Thanks again, will be back again!

Great spot for exploring the region. Very welcoming and accommodating hosts. We had a fantastic time, fire pit provided, firewood and eggs reasonably priced, very dog friendly, easy access, good space between sites compared to caravan parks, the place is very quiet which was good for us. We loved our stay at the farm. Great sites, very quiet, peaceful setting. We found it was a great place to use as a base to explore Wilsons Prom, the beaches and seaside ports at Welshpool and Albert, Agnes Falls and the townships of Foster and Fish Creek. We also travelled a bit further to the Tarra Bulga National Parks. Thanks to Laura & Troy, Bill for welcoming us and also Molly!

We arrived in a campervan and the drive-in site was super easy to just pull into and set up on. Nice views over farming country with cows 🐮 and complimentary fire pit - large bag of wood only $10. The hosts have also installed some lighting along the driveway and on the site, muted so not disturbing but very helpful after dark. Less than 30 mins drive to the beautiful Venus Beach.

Lovely spot! Quiet and pretty overlooking the dam. We really enjoyed the ability to have a campfire in the evening and the close proximity to Wilsons Prom and other attractions. The added bonus of firewood and eggs to purchase onsite was awesome too! We had unpowered/ no water but we have solar and an off grid van so no dramas. Thanks so much guys and definitely recommend!

Troy and Laura deserve a big shoutout for putting their property on Hipcamp. Their setup is absolutely incredible, it made for a truly peaceful weekend getaway. We had the powered site for the weekend, and it was perfect - right across from the dog run. We brought our two dogs along, and it was great to let them run free in the dog run. They absolutely loved it, just like we did. We’ll definitely be back regularly in the future!

Really enjoyed our time at JU Buffalo. We chose site 1 with the paddock view and although unpowered, still the pick of the bunch. Exactly how you imagine from watching Journey Unknown. Good central location to some nice beaches. We had our dog so we’re limited but really loved Waratah Bay. Meeniyan was a nice little town for a wander. Will most definitely return.

Shakedown Trip

We bought a new Full Offroad van and decided to do a shakedown trip at Troy and Laura s hip camp. Real secluded place. Apart from the windy conditions on our days , the place is awesome, especially with fur babies. Our Kelpies and German Shepard lived in the small dam. Good facilities, ie firepits and small enclosed dog park.
