Just off the iconic Great Ocean Road lies our 6 acres in Mepunga! We are surrounded by dairy and beef farms and have 2 alpacas and a few beef of our own! Campers can enjoy mowed green grass looking out over the neighbouring farms. We are 20 minutes from Warrnambool, 10 minutes from Allansford and only 5 minutes from Nullawarre which has 24 hour fuel and a small supermarket and bottle shop. Come set up and then treat yourself to a sunset at Childers Cove, only 5 minutes down the road! A perfect stopover while travelling the Great Ocean Road!

Great Ocean Road Stopover

Enjoyed our stay at The Cove Stopover, though unsure about whether we were in the correct site. Not too far off The Great Ocean Road, which was very handy. Caitlin sent a lovely, welcoming email encouraging us to visit Timboon, which we absolutely loved!

This is a beautiful little spot in the countryside. The only downside is the no campfires rule. Owners sent us a detailed message with instructions on how to find the property. Would stay here again.

Look… Was it horrible? No. But, was it great? Also no. We just needed somewhere safe to sleep for one night and it did the job. It’s a little bit stinky, but that’s to be expected when you’re surrounded by cattle farms and the ground isn’t very level which makes it hard parking a van. Other than that for one night it’s fine, better than paying $70 a night at a caravan park. Would I pay close to $39 to park there again, if I had other options? Probably not. It’s pretty expensive for what it is. We have stayed at much nicer farm stays for $10-$20 a night.

Was a nice camp spot no bathroom which wasn’t a problem there is public toilets not far beside the petrol station , dogs nearby were barking throughout the night but not unexpected as it’s near farm land , would definitely be back

Nice little stopover as the name suggests if your looking to go great ocean Road at the start from west to east or at the end from east to west. Alpacas and the cows was a nice touch to the visit alongside the beautiful sunset over the land

Great little stopover at the end of the Great Ocean Road, quiet farming land with amenities (shops, toilets etc.) and an epic sunset spot (childers cove) all just over 5 minutes away!

Quiet and clean campground. It could be a go to if you need to setup somewhere between Peterborough and warrnambool. Can be quite windy sometimes as it is an open land so be mindful of that.

I arrived and realised I'd made a choice that wasn't right for me. It's fine if you want to be off-grid and get back to nature. Also, being in a field next to livestock isn't great. There were a lot of flies. So, I didn't stay. I found somewhere else for the night.

Total rip-off!! I paid almost $40 to sleep in someone's front yard with no facilities. No toilet, drinking water, bins, showers etc. Nothing but a roadside patch of grass in a front yard. I slept terribly because all through the night I woke up to the neighbours dogs barking at all hours, cows mooing all night, cars driving past only 15m from where I was camped & then in the morning all I could smell was a horrible stench of cow poo. A horrible experience while eating breakfast experience! I seriously regret that for just $6 more I could have booked a riverside camp at Port Campbell caravan park with all the facilities!! When I told the owner that I felt ripped off and asked for a refund they refused and told me that there's lots of people who love camping in those 'farm-like' conditions, being woken up at all hours of the night by dogs & cows & cars and the horrible stench of cow poo all morning. They clearly only cared about the money they got out of me, not my actual experience!!

Farm animals nearby, which was great! Great surface for tent camping. Lovely spot for some well deserved rest and very close to the coast! Perfect stay!

Hosts are adorable. Very welcoming and accommodating of our big RV. Open farmland - very natural and beautiful. Even treated to an electrical storm in the distance - stunning TV for the night! Thank you.

Open paddock close to Warrnambool and certain attractions. We arrived on an extremely windy miserable day. There is no protection from the howling wind so ended up being a pretty miserable night. The flies were extreme, even on a windy day. Nice a for a stopover on a decent day I’d say.

The Cove Stopover was a lovely stay. The campground had plenty of flat ground, and was very well kept with cows to watch graze in the neighbouring paddock! Conveniently located close to Childers Cove, my partner and I were spoilt with a wonderful sunset. Host was responsive, and friendly, we can’t wait to visit again.

Lovely little spot. Very quiet and flat. Perfect for a 1 night stay when travelling TGOR. Toilet a 5min drive away. Flies are terrible in summer but nothing some aero guard won’t fix! Cute cows and alpacas in the paddocks on the property. Easy access.

Lovely little paddock and so cool to see the lamas, Caitlin was very accommodating with some last minute changes we had Bring some leveling blocks if in a roof top as little bit of a slope.

Lovely grassed paddock at the front of the property on a quiet road. Friendly human and animal hosts - the alpacas on the adjacent paddock warmed up to us. Bring your mesh fly nets as flies and mosquitos are very persistent
