Penzance Bushland Retreat
Wow! What a great little camp. We booked here to be close to Sovereign Hill for the kids. It was a lovely little camp for our group of two families. The grass was green, the sun was shining, there was plenty of shade and great facilities around the camp fire, like tables. We loved the rusty relics but a true highlight was the Powder Room. Thanks for having us Chris. We hope to be back one day. Don't hesitate in booking Penzance. One of our favourite campsites this trip.

Really nice secluded, private spot with a ripper toilet and friendly, likeable host. Chris' place is spacious and secluded with some interesting rustic metal antiques placed around the property. There's a couple of very solid tables for storing food stuff and doing your cooking & washing up so don't bother bringing a camp table like we did!

Beautiful property and a great camping area all to ourselves. We unfortunately chose a very rainy weekend to stay but would definitely go again with some sunshine.

Loved this camp. Very private, serene, peaceful. Can't fault it. Location was wonderful, it was close to Buninyong which has a wonderful pub, nice cafes and shops. We loved sitting by the creek and watching the Wrens, Honeyeaters, and Thornbills. We even saw a Tawny Frogmouth the last night. The sound of the frogs was lovely and we just felt so immersed in nature with how peaceful it was. We want to come back!
The bathroom of course was also a very lovely perk!

The best Hipcamp Bathroom ever!! Beautiful, peaceful, private and very well equipped with not only the best powder room, there tables and chairs, huge fire pit, interesting historical pieces, a creek and plenty of wildlife. Close to the Buningyong Village for cafes and great walks/drives to Mt Buninyong. We cannot wait to go back.

We had a great stay at Penzance Bushland Retreat. The campsite was peaceful, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the bush surroundings. The facilities were excellent – the toilet was very clean and well-maintained, which made the stay even more comfortable. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, nature-filled getaway!

What an amazing spot, this quiet and very relaxing bush space was just what my husband and I required.
Beautiful walks, watching kangaroos, listening to the birds and the night time silence. The fire pit was large and welcoming and the powder room was a beautiful touch. Thankyou for sharing your space.

We had an amazing stay at Penzance Bushland Retreat! The site is peaceful, private, and surrounded by beautiful bushland — perfect for a quiet getaway felt right at home. Great location too, with Sovereign Hill and other Ballarat attractions just a short drive away. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to unwind in nature with plenty to explore nearby.

Absolutely loved it here. The check in and directions were made easy and welcoming. Such a lovely tranquil and private site. Enjoyed a lovely glass of red by the cosy fire in the fabulous fire pit. We enjoyed walking through the surrounding bushland and our dog loved it too. The powder room was a delightful surprise. We will definitely be back and would love to bring our grandchildren here to have a wonderful camping experience. Thank you for having us Lesley and Chris

We loved the serenity and being in nature. We especially loved the comfort of the powder room! And we loved the fire pit. It was our first camping experience with three dogs and the camper trailer. We had plenty of room for camping and the dogs loved exploring the property. Thank you Lesley for a relaxing stay. We would love to visit again!

Lesley's camp site is just amazing. We enjoyed our one night camp stay at her place. We also saw a glimpse of a few kangaroos at around 6a.m in the morning from a little distance from where we set up our tent. The best part was big camping tables facility provided at the campsite which was really beneficial for us as we were with our toddler. Sitting around fireplace was so much fun and the toilet facility was so good. We definitely recommend the place and wish to come back and stay for more nights.

Had a great fire pit, plenty of wood nearby to gather for a fire. Well setup with tables and a nice sitting area. The toilet facilities were also a game changer, as my wife would not have come along without facilities and these were great.

We spent an amazing night at this property. Chris had delivered a huge pile of firewood for us on arrival and was very friendly. The campfire was great and the quiet bushlands surrounding us were a massive hit with the kids. Having a powder room next to our site was also great! We would definitely be back, thanks to Lesley and Chris for allowing us to spend our trip here!

Thankyou so much for sharing your piece of heaven with us .
Lesley and Chris were so accommodating. This is a great place to stay and do absolutely nothing or explore the surrounding area of Buninyong.
There is a great swimming hole within 15 minutes drive of Penzance retreat .
We loved our time here camping with friends . There are so many nice touches from the firepit, toilet and table and chairs .
The timber bench makes for a great massage table too .

Lesley and Chris were absolutely stellar hosts!! Their camp site is immaculate: all the features made camping a breeze; the camp fire was perfect for a camp fire roast, the powder room was spotless and well functioning! the surrounding bush was so lush and we enjoyed hiking around the property. We had an amazing time together and we can't wait to come back again!

We had an amazing time camping at Lesley's land. Lesley was a superb host and the site had everything we could ask for.
There was enough shade and space for 3 large and 2 medium tents. It had the best looking toilet I have seen so far camping in Australia. The site had all the amenities including a 6 seater table and chairs, full set up firepit with cooking options, and firewood was provided on request (separate payment).
The site was quiet but had ample birds and occasional roos to keep us company. Definitely coming back in future.

We had a wonderful stay at Lesley’s land last night. The campsite was neat, it had amazing views and nice hike. Very peaceful and pleasant. The bathroom was very clean. Perfect place for a night with friends and family. Highly recommended.
