We recently stayed at this hipcamp site and had a great experience. The views were spectacular – from sunrise over the mountains to stargazing at night. The site itself was well-maintained, peaceful, and surrounded by vineyards, making it the perfect escape from the city.
We will definitely be coming back, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, scenic, and affordable getaway! 🌲⛺🌄

Easy to locate and responsive upon arrival.
Good little spot.
Not extremely private as you are within line of sight from the house on the property and neighbouring houses but certainly far enough to have no issues at all.
Booking site states camp-fires allowed and firewood provided; however, this appears out of date given no firewood or established place for a camp fire. Despite this owners were happy for us to have a small camp fire on the ground which we were appreciate of.

Lovely quiet spot next to the grape vines, with a dam beside you and rolling hills of vineyards all around. And totally level, important for those in a campervan. Will be back!

Mt Hope Vineyard was the perfect overnight stay. We were looking for somewhere quiet and pretty to relax before heading into Melbourne for work. We watched a storm roll over which was spectacular. The cows next door and sound of birds were an added bonus.

What a gem in the perfect location in the Yarra Valley!
We were guided to our camp by the wonderful host Tony, and set amongst the vineyard overlooking the hills and dam. This spot is in prime location to all the destinations within the Yarra Valley.
It was private which was ideal for our child free weekend away!
We will absolutely be back to this gorgeous little spot and will make sure we book in to Tony’s French Italian cooking classes too!

One of our better stays, location is great if you are wanting to explore the Yarra Valley. The site is clean and relatively flat with lovely views. We met Tony, who was very welcoming (and also runs the cooking school on the property).
We would certainly recommend this site and will be back

The views were beautiful. We saw a lot of kangaroos and the sunset was epic. We had a bit of luck because it rained all afternoon, but at sunset it was clear and dry. A lovely evening and a quiet night.

Beautiful location and incredible sunsets over the vineyard. Sandra was also lovely and very helpful. We stayed on Site 1 and it was quite a steep slope and bit of a challenging site to get set up, over a 1m fall from end to end of our 22ft van. The ground was also uneven in places so had to be careful not to trip in a few holes. Location-wise nice and central spot to explore the Yarra valley. Overall we enjoyed our stay there.

Our short stay was relaxing taking in the picturesque views around the dam and enjoying the quiet location, after the noisy water pump stopped. We were told it was on and would run out of petrol soon which was almost an hour after we arrived.

Overall we had a lovely stay at Mount Hope. Pros: The property has lovely views over the neighboring vineyards and the hosts are friendly. It’s close to popular wineries, such as DeBertoli, the beautiful Alowyn Gardens and Healesville. Cons: The site we were on was mostly level, but quite uneven. During our stay, the hosts decided to pump water from dam behind us, running a loud pump at 7am on Sunday morning. (They did notify us the day before, but surely this could’ve been done when guests weren’t booked in.) The pump spilled water under our van and mud over our camp chairs. Also, they sprayed the vines with fungicide during our stay (we have two young kids and a dog). I understand it’s a working vineyard, but they could’ve planned this for when guest were not staying.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sandra’s vineyard property. We camped down on the flat spot by the dam with friends. We really liked how quiet the property was, yet how close it was to Yarra Glen, Healesville and so many other local attractions. We also loved having our dogs come with us and being able to have a fire at night. Would definitely recommend this property to others and I’m sure we’ll be back!

I was advised that due to excessive rain my booking had to be cancelled. I am very new to hipcamp and did not realise that I had to go into my booking and do the actual cancellation. More information about the process would have been appreciated.

Nice spot. Poor communication with host. 30 minute prior to arrival we were warned we might not be able to canp due to site flooding. We were visited my the farms friendly dog but when we left the canpsite the dog ripped our canvas bin bag apart and tossed rubbish across the vineyard. When we attempted to contact the host we got silence no reply.

The spot is good, plenty of privacy. Beautiful view. We were lucky to have a sunny weekend, so all were perfect. If it rains though, it could be a bit messy.

It is a beautiful yet convenient site just a short drive from Melbourne.
Pros
- Stunning: nestled in the middle of working vineyards, gorgeous sunsets, rolling hills
- Location: 40 min drive from NE Melbourne, but far enough away to feel like you're still camping. Right next door to some great wineries. 10-min drive to Yarra Glen, 15-min drive to Healesville
- Privacy: One other site, but they were far enough away not to bother us

- Sloped site
- In a valley. If you're tent camping, there can be a decent amount of condensation even with a very ventilated tent with the windows open
- Close enough to a somewhat busy road to hear traffic

- No water on site, but you're close enough to a lot of areas to stock up

Site 2 shows it has non potable water with hose but not there.
Should remove that from site list.
I had to walk in mud into dam for water.

Sandra was a great host; super accommodating and friendly! We will definitely rebook to come back as Unfortunately due to the weather we weren't able to set up and camp.
The site itself was clean and easy to navigate to.
