We had a great time camping at Amherst Farm. We had the site to ourselves, in a paddock looking out to the State Forest. There was ample space and our dog loved running around. We hired the metal detector for the day which was a bit of fun too.
Beautiful spot and Wendy is super welcoming and lovely.

Wendy was a lovely host and we enjoyed our one night stop over at her place. The campsite is flat and shaded and well maintained. Perfect for what we needed. While we didn't use the facilities, like the firepit, because we were only staying one night, it was lovely to have them.

Scrolling the hipcamp app we stumbled across Wendy’s camp site and the single campsite & reviews hooked us in and wow what a fantastic spot. It doesn’t matter where you stay - a Hipcamp, an air bnb or a 5 star hotel it’s always the little extra things that make it stand out and make your stay somewhere you want to return. We felt this at Wendy’s -

Everything was just easy, we drove out feeling recharged, relaxed and reconnected with nature.
We will return to Wendy’s as it’s only an hour away but feels like we are miles from anywhere.

We had a lovely time at Amherst farm camp. We were 3 families and had the place fully yo ourselves, it was amazing to have so much privacy and the camping space was fantastic. It The paddock was absolutely huge and meant kids and adults had endless space for any activity. The star gazing at night was perfect, whilst sitting around the fire pit provided by Wendy. It was so peaceful with only the nosie of the wildlife to go with the fire.
Wendy was a great host, very accommodating and quick to reply . She kindly gave our kids digging tools, ao they could search for gold, they loved it. Wendy was happy to help or leave you to enjoy the beautiful space. It was a great place to base yourself to go and explore.
Would highly recommend, great for groups big and small.

Perfect spot to set up base and explore the surrounding area. nice flat well maintained area with some trees around for some shelter and plenty of friendly kangaroos in the morning. easy to access and find. highly recommend

Beautiful farm site/paddock campsite with great views of sunrise/set and the stars! Wendy was an exceptional host - extremely kind, thoughtful and helpful checking in when we arrived and in the morning but gave plenty of space the rest of the time for a great private experience! Very private area away from the main property with good basics including fire area, kindling, water and clear signage/directions to get there - also saw lots of great wildlife around with nice trees but also clear and flat viewing/camping area too. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet and tranquil stay with only one site it's all to yourself. And we loved the visits every so often from her very cute and loving dog Maggie - although she checked when we arrived we were ok with dogs so no issue if you are - very thoughtful, 10/10 had a great time and was stunning!

We loved camping at Wendy's place. Easy to find. A great set up with camp fires and wood to buy, dump Point and nice flat ground. Wendy and her dog Maggie were very friendly and you have the option to hore a metal detector. We didn't find any gold but had fun trying! The dogs had fun running around the paddock and we had time to relax in the peaceful surroundings. Definitely somewhere to go if you want to unplug and unwind.

Had a great time camping on Wendy's land! Had the entire place to ourselves, property was easy to find and site was easy to get to, site was level and cleared well. There is a small firepit at the site with a grill for cooking, firewood was provided for a fee but there was plenty of firewood on the road in that we used instead. Overall good value for money and we had a relaxing time!

Great spot to unwind and disconnect.
Very quiet and private apart from the kangaroos at dawn and dusk.
The open night sky is easily admired along with the sunrise and sunset.
Wendy was very responsive and helpful.

Nice secluded location with plenty of space. Neat enough to a larger town for supplies or a cafe breakfast after the camp. Campfire space was really nice.

Was a lovely spot Wendy is very helpful with all the things you need the only negative would be no shower or toilet facilities ( that’s camping ) unless you take a caravan it’s very private and spacious and we did enjoy our trip though

Our stay at the Amherst Farm Camp Site in western Victoria was nothing short of spectacular. Nestled in a pristine location, the campsite features a spacious flat clearing dotted with smaller gum trees, which provided fantastic shade during the day. As the sun set, we were treated to a breathtaking view of the Milky Way core overhead—truly an unforgettable sight!
One of the highlights of our stay was the delightful visit from Maggy, the charming kelpie. Our dog, Odin, had an absolute blast playing with her, which added to the warm and inviting atmosphere of the campsite. It was wonderful to see how friendly and welcoming the local pets could be!
Wendy, our host, made our experience even more memorable with her exceptional hospitality. From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly helpful, bringing us firewood and personally guiding us to our perfect camping spot. Her attentiveness ensured that we felt right at home, which is hard to come by in many camping locations.
Overall, the combination of stunning natural scenery and top-notch hosting makes Amherst Farm Camp Site a true gem. I can't recommend it enough for fellow campers looking for a peaceful getaway. We left with lasting memories and a strong desire to return. I’ll definitely be going back!
