Learn more about this land: We look forward to hosting you! This property overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river (no access to) has two cabins to choose from, one sleeps two people and the other can accommodate three. The property is such a peaceful spot! We have a rustic outhouse, and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available Monday thru Saturday from 8am to 9am. So that means Sundays are not available or evenings. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave and coffee maker. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well! Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to the birds. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. So, with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. Don't set an alarm, the loons or geese may wake you first!  Listen to the birds and relax!  And if luck is with you, you might spot a bald eagle!   Want to play with goats? We have them! Come say hi to Sam and Frodo! Fresh eggs are available for sale and you can even say hi to the chickens on site! $5.00 a dozen!! Hiking trails are nearby including Groton State Forest, hiking near Willoughby Lake is only about 45 minutes away and is worth the trip! Come experience the green mountains and we are not far from the White mountains of NH.

If you enjoy glamping this is the retreat for you!  Overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river.  The cabin is spacious with a comfy bed, fridge, microwave, AC in the summer and heat for the beautiful fall months! The cabin has a coffee maker and coffee!  Bottled water is always in the fridge as well. We are very pet friendly! We ask that dogs are kept on leash on the property. And pets are not to be left unattended inside the cabin.  Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. Don't set an alarm , the loons or geese may wake you first!  Plenty of trees to listen to the birds and relax!  And if luck is really on your side you might spot a bald eagle flying over! The main bathroom is an outhouse, Yes I said glamping!   Want to play with goats? This stick built home has all the modern conveniences, queen size bed and a twin size bed, fridge, coffee maker and microwave. It also has A/C for those hot summer days and a space heater for the chilly fall evenings!! You have a great deck with French doors looking out to the river. This is a very quiet, unique property with all the wildlife and birds around you! Cabin is always stocked with water and coffee upon your arrival. We are very pet friendly and ask that dogs stay on leash. All steps are taken to welcome our guests and provide a relaxing atmosphere that is private as well. Come and enjoy!!

Glamping on the River

I had a great stay at Ryegate. The cabin was warm and homey, a nice break from camping when the rain and cold arrived. Jessica was welcoming, communicative and responsive. She provided good information about the stay and was kind enough to let me use the shower in the farmhouse, which was much appreciated. The cabin really has all you need... shelter, a cozy bed, a microwave, fridge, and coffee station. Sitting on the front porch with coffee overlooking the river and the mountain tree line is a wonderful way to spend a peaceful morning! The cabin is decorated very cute, which is a nice bonus. Note: You need to be up for a bit of outdoor life ... like using an outhouse and washing dishes in a sink outside. It isn't primitive but it is glamping.

I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was adorably decorated with a cozy rustic aesthetic and felt very welcoming. The bed was super comfortable, and although there was a space heater provided, I didn’t end up needing it. The host was extremely communicative and helpful, even making sure I had a warm shower in the morning, which I really appreciated. The views of the river were beautiful—especially in the morning with the fog rolling across the water. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the animals on the property—it made the experience feel even more special. I also loved that I was able to bring my dog along with me.

Wonderful place all around! This place was so peaceful and beautiful. We loved the added bonus of being able to visit the goats, ducks, and chickens! The cabin was so cozy and warm- perfect for fall. Jessica was an amazing host and super attentive. We hope to visit again!

Jess was an amazing host and this was by far the most comfy cozy and CLEAN place on our fall New England trip!! The pictures honestly didn’t do it justice. She really took care of all the details you might need and it was very well presented. We got showed in the morning and the hospitality was amazing. The property is very beautiful and peaceful. The cabin had a great view of the river and I enjoyed my stay. My dog was allowed which I always appreciate. Jessica brought a heater for me which was perfect for the chilly nights. I arrived at night and did not see the sink/hose for water. You do have to turn the water on and off from the house. Jessica was very responsive and I was able to meet and chat with her. There are chickens, ducks, and 2 goats but I did not hear any of them at all from the cabin.

Jessica is fantastic and you couldn’t ask for a more well kept place to spend the night. We sprung for the s’mores and firewood packages and I’d highly recommend. Lots of great, dry wood, and you couldn’t pick up the s’mores supplies cheaper yourself— made it all that much easier to have an enjoyable evening.

The river view in the front of our cabin was beautiful. Jessica is a very accommodating host and we really loved the stay. She has done a fantastic job setting up the cabin and theming with bear and Vermont!

Jessica is a great host and the cabin was really clean and cute! The set up is really cool and the view is amazing but we can’t have access because the road is private as mentioned by Jessica. The rustic toilet was really tidy! Real dish would be highly appreciated like wine glasses, real plates, glasses instead of paper cup, etc. Also, an additional time to shower after the day (example from 4:00 to 5:00) would be nice after a long hike. Overall the place is great for 1 or 2 nights! Thanks!

The cabin was a perfect getaway for me and my small dog. Facing the river made it feel secluded, but the size of the property also didn’t make us feel too far out there (which is what we wanted). It’s situated perfectly so that you can explore both VT and NH, and Jessica included a variety of great recommendations for local things to do, some of which we did and loved.

The cabins were very cute and in a nice location. We left a cheery note in the guest book and were hopeful for a great weekend! Unfortunately there were quite a few spiders running about in the cabin, including in the bed and in the cabinets with the plates. We ended up leaving a night early because of it (only booked for two nights) and when we reached out to let the host know, we got no reply. This was a disappointing turn out for such an expensive stay.

We had a lovely time staying at the Getaway Nest! Jessica's location feels delightfully secluded while still being near several necessities for anything we needed or forgot. A great home base for either chilling overlooking the river or several day trips to nearby destinations. Jessica was very helpful answering questions and helping with requests while also giving us our space.

Beautiful views especially at sunrise. Great for the dogs. If you walk on the dirt road you will be greeted/scared by two German Shepard behind a fence. Nothing to do with the listing just fyi. Definitely book this place!

I loved the cabin on Jessica's land and it had a beautiful view. Jessica was super friendly and helpful, and Zoey and I had a phenomenal time. The cabin is a good distance from a bunch of fun places. You should definitely check it out!

Jessica was a wonderful host and was very friendly. My husband and I loved the week we spent in the smaller cabin. The location was perfect very close to the Ammonoosuc Rail Trail in Woodsville and the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail in St.Johnsbury.

Beautiful, clean, peaceful little cabin to enjoy! We would gladly return anytime we are in the area. The eggs (worth the additional cost) were the best eggs I've ever had. The farm animals were a fun treat and Jessica was a super awesome host! This is what Hipcamp is all about!

Cute, comfortable cabin. Clean & well-appointed. FYI, there's a slope from parking to the cabin so if you have mobility issues, be prepared. It's only about 30-40 feet but the slope could be a problem if you have a bum knee.

The cabin was perfect for what we needed on a night passing through. The cabin itself was clean and cozy. Additional items such as coffee, games made the stay even more enjoyable. Peaceful and serene location on with a view of the river. It rained the night we were there but the firepit was well situated and we had been excited to use the smores bundle we had purchased from the host. Jessica is friendly and present while allowing guests privacy. Bathroom facilities were clean and functional-no complaints. Using the shower at the farmhouse was easy and enjoyable. We would stay again!
