Beautiful stay among the horses
Us city girls had the most memorable stay at Honeywood Valley. Itâs a proper working equestrian park, like a horse hotel crossed with a lifestyle farm, and it was exactly the kind of country escape we were hoping for.
From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by horse paddocks and could watch the horses all day long.
Two gorgeous camp spots to choose from â one perched up on a hill with sweeping views over the property and rolling hills, and the other tucked down by a peaceful little pond. We picked the hilltop site and were treated to stunning views and even the distant twinkle of Hobartâs city lights at night. The site is beautifully peaceful in the day. It gets windy at night but that didnât bother us.
Kate is a fantastic host. She met us on arrival, showed us to the site, made sure we were settled, and then left us to enjoy the serenity. We asked if sheâd be open to giving us a quick tour around the property â she agreed without hesitation, and it ended up being the highlight of our stay.
In the morning we joined Kate on her rounds as she delivered feed to the horses. We got to meet the whole crew â every horse was gentle, charming, and full of personality. Kate even let us hop into her ute and took us around for a proper behind-the-scenes look. I learnt so much about horses and what goes into caring for them. You can really tell how much love and hard work she pours into the place.
Honeywood Valley absolutely delighted us and we couldnât recommend it more!
