Hi everyone Big thankyou for all the people that gave us a go to come and stay at the property We had nothing but positive feedback and was reinvesting the money into making the sites more accommodating for future bookings Unfortunately due to some of the neighbours not liking the idea of people enjoying themselves or visiting the Clare valley we have subsequently been asked to refrain from any future bookings from the local council We’re going to be fighting this as much as we can to try to reopen but for now there is nothing we can do For anyone wanting something similar to stay at, we would highly suggest Seven Sisters which isn’t too far away from where our property is Thanks again and we hope to open our doors once again Located only 10 minutes south of Clare, Straub Estate’s beautiful vineyard has been established for close to 60 years, growing a dry Shiraz grape variety. Only 1 km down the road from Skillogalee and 2 km away from Mitchell Wines, these are truly some of the best wineries in the Clare Valley. The Sevenhill bakery and pub are also just around the corner, so there are plenty of options for dining in or grabbing a quick bite to eat. Within the property, there are plenty of shaded areas along with a variety of spots to park a caravan or set up a tent. No matter what your setup is, we are able to find something to suit everyone. Please note that some sites at the back of the property will suit an off-road caravan or 4WD much better. We are slowly working on opening these areas to make them more accessible, along with adding driveways and gravel paths. We will be homing some very friendly sheep and alpacas in the winter months, who will happily roam around the property. We are happy for you to feed them, just as long as the gates are kept closed at all times. This is our first time setting up a camping vineyard, so we are still finding our feet and installing signage. We appreciate your patience and for giving us a try. The first few bookings will be heavily discounted, and we appreciate any constructive feedback.

    Into the Woods (Site 1)
    We loved our stay. Weather was amazing so we were able to make the most of the great location. Walked to Sevenhill for dinner and rode our bikes to nearby wineries from our camp. We also enjoyed a nice camp fire. Site 1 is not too far from the road so you do have some traffic noise but it didn't bother us too much.

    Behind the Dam (Site 4)
    We loved it here, it was so peaceful by the dam. Would have been great if the weather was a little bit kinder so we could have a campfire meal & sit outside but that’s the joys of caravanning & the weather but we made the most of it, we got to see around the Clare region which is a beautiful place. Will be great to return again in the future to see the improvements Luke is intending to do.

    Great little spot between the vines. It’s close to everything you need and the pub is only a short drive up the road. Easy to access with only a bit of leveling required. Luke was helpful and happy to answer our questions.

    Into the Woods (Site 1)
    Perfect location with great views. Luke was very responsive and directions were clear. Site was easily accessed with 2WD and a couple of different options of level spots to set up on this site. Optus coverage good. I stayed on a long weekend and the nearby road traffic was busy with people visiting the multiple wineries/cellar doors.

    Great sites in an awesome location. Loved the peace and quiet while still only being minutes away from towns, wineries and walking trails. Luke was quick to respond to questions and very helpful. As an Adelaide local we’re looking forward to keeping this spot on our list to return to.

    Great place to camp with our kids and dogs. Plenty of space, beautiful scenery, close to town (only short drive) and wineries. Plenty of firewood. Luke was a great host, responding very quickly and great recommendations. Would recommend anyone coming to the Clare Valley to stay here.

    Into the Woods (Site 1)
    I really enjoyed my time at Straub Estate, tucked away between natural bushland and vineyards, it is a beautiful spot, really peaceful and made a great base for visiting the local wineries and Sawmill Gin. A great alternative to the packed caravan park. Id recommend for anyone looking for a private camping experience near great wineries.
