Great open paddock, with generous size camp areas, perfect for groups of people, nice a close to the water for boating and fishing. Great for camping with your boat as well. Like anywhere close to the water, take your midge spray.

Awesome hipcamp. Very well maintained, private and close to everything in the area. Yes there's sand flys however anywhere from river heads to rainbow Beach has them. Just use appropriate repellent. Host was great and helpful with anything I needed and advice on where to go for fishing in the area. Heaps of room if you have a boat which I'd recommend to explore the Sandy Strait with opportunities for all bread and butter species as well as mud crabs and prawns. Bowls club is walking distance for a meal and the public park and toilet is right next door.

What an awesome spot!! If you're looking for somewhere quiet, easily accessible and love to fish, boat or kayak, it's up there. I've camped all around the place and this is by far in the top 5.
Fire pits are there. Fire wood in abundance, fishing Mecca (I hooked something big and snapped my 6.5kg rod after a good run!)
Super easy to get to rainbow beach, tin can bay, Maryborough etc. perfect without the hustle and bustle of the towns.
It's super close to community bbq and public toilets. Also has a bowling club a few hundred metres up the road. Right by the water as well!
Beautiful spot.
Make sure you bring repellant though, there are a few midgies around (like literally anywhere near water and mangroves though - we live in Australia so yeah, if you want to tent suck it up or get a cabin or camper lol)
10/10 would recommend!

Large flat space with plenty of trees for shade. Easy to find and access. Good 4G mobile coverage. No facilities but new public toilet within 100m. Good for a few self sufficient days if visiting Boonooroo or Tuan. Tuan boat ramp within 2kms with good access to Great Sandy Straight.

What a quiet and lush space to camp up for the night. It was very peaceful and a great space to see the stars at night. The host was very responsive and accommodating. I would camp there again.

Exactly what we were after. Boonooroo is a cool little town, locals are beyond friendly, bowls club had nice food (just a short walk anway), and lots of fun little fishing spots. Campsite was well maintained and very large. The big shady eucalypts offer heavy shade with a large variety of different native birds species. Would recommend. :)

We decided not to stay at the site after arriving and visiting the site. Lots of sand flies and territorial magpies making the camping impossible for us. We sent a message to the owner to let him know, he said the money would be returned but that never happened. Poor communication.

What a great quite camping spot! We were given great directions and met with owners who were super friendly! Kids absolutely loved it, within just metres of beach, caught many mud & sand crabs. Public toilet next door with playground, firepits and neat tidy grounds. We highly recommend especially for the price, excellent value 👌

2nd time coming here and it was just as amazing as last time! Such a chill and quiet place to come and stay and the owners are awesome and come say gday! Very spacious camping area! It’s one of our favourite spots! 10/10! 😎

Hidden, peaceful, beautiful gem! We were the only ones there and were told we could park wherever we wanted…we parked in the middle up the back. The grass was all mown, fire pits and wood supplied, and super easy process to book and organise spot with great host!!! Would be perfect for groups travelling together as such a huge area. Birds and Kangaroos came and said hi, otherwise just us, our music and fire…perfect 🙂

Easy to find, good flat block, kangaroos in the next field. fire pit and firewood provided and bowls club down the road for takeaway beer - what more do you need for the night?!

Easy to find and host responsive. Place is open, spacious and convenient to beach access, sports field and bowls club. Host had firewood and firearms for us to use and the local kangaroos hung around too. Very nice spot

Our Family loved camping at Boonooroo Hipcamp! Owners were lovely! Plenty of room, with lovely grassy spots. The facilities next door are great and definitely worth taking a tennis racket and balls for a game of tennis! We had a lovely meal at the golf club, but remember to book and they are only open on certain nights so you will need to check. Make sure you bring everything you need as there is no general store in Boonooroo, but you can go to Poona, Maaroom or to Maryborough, it’s not that far! We will have to come back as we weren’t able to find a fish worth keeping! 🎣

We stayed for 4 nights and had the best stay , we had the place to ourselves even knowing it was school holidays . It was so quiet .
We had beautiful weather .
There are toilets and a BBQ area 200 metres away
Fire pit right in front of us
Boonooroo is a beautiful little town .

Great piece of land that is well maintained with plenty of space to choose from. A few local kangaroos as well. Close to a nice parks and clean public toilets. Crabbing was pretty good too.
