Welcome to Kirar Nulla Family Farm Tucked into the hills between Woodford and Kilcoy, Kirar Nulla is a family farm where Mary Smokes Creek winds along the boundary, cattle graze the paddocks, and kookaburras provide the morning wake-up call. We offer just a handful of generously spaced campsites across the farm, each chosen for its own unique character—beneath established trees, beside the creek, overlooking the paddocks, or tucked away in a quiet corner of the property. Rather than a conventional campground, our aim is to give each group their own little piece of Kirar Nulla for the night. Campers have access to shared toilets and a hot shower, along with our covered shelter and camp kitchen—a comfortable place to cook, eat, meet fellow travellers, or retreat to when the Queensland weather has other ideas. There is plenty of room to slow down and settle into farm life. Wander down to the creek, watch the cattle grazing, listen for frogs and birdlife, sit beneath the trees, or simply pull up a chair as the sun goes down and the stars come out. Campfires are part of the Kirar Nulla experience when conditions and fire restrictions permit. Each campsite has a designated fire area, and Campfire Provisions—firewood, kindling, and firelighters—can be waiting for you upon arrival. Extra firewood and a few other fireside treats are also available from the farm. Your visit begins at our restored 1950s red telephone booth near the farm entrance. Part tiny museum, part cabinet of curiosities, and part farm-gate shop, it offers a small introduction to Kirar Nulla before you head off to find your campsite. We are deliberately keeping camping at Kirar Nulla small. You won't find rows of sites, powered caravan bays, or a busy holiday-park atmosphere here. Instead, expect a working family farm, plenty of space, simple comforts, and a chance to spend a little time closer to the landscape. Kirar Nulla is an easy country escape from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, and the surrounding towns, while Woodford and Kilcoy are close enough for supplies, a pub meal, or a day exploring the region. Come for the creek, the campfire, and the quiet. Stay for the kookaburras.

The Sentinels Campsite

Tent site · Sleeps 8
The Sentinels Camp beneath the watch of The Sentinels — a stand of mature trees that have quietly marked the passing seasons at Kirar Nulla long before there were campers here to notice them. Tall and weathered, they give this campsite its name and its character, standing like old guardians at the edge of the clearing. Beneath them is a peaceful place to make camp, with the trees framing views across the surrounding farm and providing a distinctly Australian backdrop of bark, branches, birdsong and shifting light. By day, watch for kookaburras and other birdlife moving between the trees, or simply settle into the shade and let the farm carry on around you. As the light fades, The Sentinels take on a different character — dark silhouettes against the evening sky as the first stars begin to appear. The campsite offers plenty of room to settle in while retaining a sense of being held within the landscape. Shared toilets, a hot shower, covered shelter and camp kitchen are within easy reach, providing a few welcome comforts while you enjoy the simplicity of camping on the farm. When conditions permit, gather around the designated fire area as evening settles in. Campfire Provisions — including firewood, kindling and firelighters — can be ordered ahead and waiting for you when you arrive. There is something reassuring about sleeping beneath old trees. They were here before you arrived and will still be standing watch after you've packed up and gone. Best for: couples, families, nature lovers and campers drawn to big trees, birdsong and a campsite with a little story of its own.

The Outlook: Perched on a gentle rise overlooking the farm, The Outlook is the place to slow down, breathe deeply and watch the landscape change with the light. A short drive from the red telephone booth, the track winds past towering trees before opening into a spacious clearing with broad views across Kirar Nulla. Morning mist often lingers in the valleys below, afternoons bring warm golden light across the paddocks, and as evening falls the sky opens to stars and the distant sounds of the bush. The Outlook is one of our most open campsites, offering plenty of room for tents, swags or a family camp setup while still feeling tucked into the wider landscape. It's an ideal place to enjoy a quiet campfire, settle into a comfortable chair with a book, or simply watch kookaburras, cockatoos and other birdlife moving through the trees. Shared toilets, a hot shower, our covered shelter and camp kitchen are all within easy reach, giving you the comforts you need while preserving the feeling of camping on a working family farm. When conditions allow, light a fire in the designated fire area and let the evening unfold. Campfire Provisions—including firewood, kindling and firelighters—can be ordered ahead so everything is ready when you arrive. The Outlook is for campers who appreciate a little extra space, sweeping skies and the simple pleasure of watching the day begin and end from their own corner of Kirar Nulla. Best for: couples, families and campers chasing sunsets, stargazing and open-country views.

The Grove Campsite

Booked 1 time
RV/tent site · Sleeps 8 · Vehicles under 12 m
The Grove: Nestled among the trees, The Grove is a peaceful, sheltered campsite with the feeling of having found your own little clearing at Kirar Nulla. Surrounded by greenery and dappled shade, it offers a softer, more intimate camping experience than the farm's open paddocks. The trees frame the campsite and provide a natural backdrop for slow mornings, afternoon reading and long evenings gathered around the fire. Birdlife is never far away. Listen for kookaburras calling through the canopy, watch smaller birds moving between the branches and enjoy the changing patterns of light and shade throughout the day. The Grove has enough room to settle comfortably into camp while retaining the cosy, tucked-away character that makes it special. Shared toilets, a hot shower, covered shelter and camp kitchen are within easy reach, giving you a few welcome comforts without losing the simplicity of camping on a family farm. When conditions permit, light a fire in the designated fire area and settle in beneath the trees. Campfire Provisions — including firewood, kindling and firelighters — can be ordered ahead and waiting for you when you arrive. Quiet, leafy and unhurried, The Grove is a place for campers who would rather wake beneath the trees than out in the open. Best for: couples, small families, birdwatchers and campers looking for shade, shelter and a peaceful place to retreat.

The Round Yard Campsite

RV/tent site · Sleeps 8 · Vehicles under 12 m
The Round Yard: Set alongside Kirar Nulla's old round yard and adjacent to Mary Smokes Creek, this campsite puts you right in the heart of the farm. The old round yard gives the site its distinctly rural character — a reminder that Kirar Nulla is first and foremost a family farm. On one side, the paddocks open out beneath big country skies; on the other, Mary Smokes Creek winds quietly along the edge of the property, creating a green corridor rich with birdlife and wildlife. Listen for the distinctive call of whipbirds from the creekside vegetation, kookaburras laughing from the surrounding trees and the many other birds that make this part of the farm their home. If you're particularly quiet and fortunate, you may even catch a glimpse of one of the platypus that inhabit Mary Smokes Creek. The Round Yard offers a generous, open camping area with plenty of room to spread out and settle in. One of its particular advantages is its direct connection to the farm's gravel driveway, providing straightforward access for campers, caravans and RVs without sacrificing the site's sense of space or connection to the surrounding landscape. It's an especially convenient choice for larger setups or campers who simply prefer an easy arrival and departure. Its position makes The Round Yard particularly well suited to families and campers who enjoy being close to the life of the farm while still having their own place to retreat to at the end of the day. Shared toilets, a hot shower, covered deck and bespoke camp kitchen at The Shelter are within easy reach, so you can enjoy the simplicity of camping without giving up a few welcome comforts. When conditions permit, gather around the designated fire area as evening settles over the paddocks and creek. Campfire Provisions — including firewood, kindling and firelighters — can be ordered ahead and waiting for you when you arrive. The Round Yard isn't polished campground camping. It's a place to pull up a chair, listen to the farm and creek grow quiet, watch for wildlife along the water's edge and spend a night or two immersed in the rhythms of rural life. Best for: families, caravans and RVs, nature lovers, birdwatchers and campers looking for easy access alongside open paddocks, creekside wildlife and the everyday character of Kirar Nulla.

Waters-meet Campsite

Booked 2 times
RV/tent site · Sleeps 8 · Vehicles under 12 m
Waters-meet: Tucked beside the water at Kirar Nulla, Waters-meet takes its name from the place where a small stream slips through the farm to meet the creek. Set just before the little bridge that crosses the stream, the campsite occupies a quiet, leafy corner of the property where the two waterways and surrounding vegetation create a natural sense of enclosure. Pull up a chair beneath the trees, listen for frogs and birdlife along the creek, or settle in around the fire as evening falls. Waters-meet is particularly suited to campers looking for a more intimate, nature-focused place to stay. It feels tucked away without being far from the shared facilities, with Kirar Nulla's toilets, hot shower, covered shelter and camp kitchen within easy reach. When conditions permit, light a fire in the designated fire area and settle in for the evening. Campfire Provisions — including firewood, kindling and firelighters — can be ordered ahead and waiting for your arrival. There are no rows of tents or numbered campground bays here. Waters-meet is simply a little clearing beside the place where two waters meet — your own corner of Kirar Nulla for a night or two. Best for: couples, small families and campers who value shade, water, wildlife and a little seclusion.
