Hinesy’s Place – Coastal Camping with Sea Breezes at the Base of the Mountain “Relaxed hosts, flexible arrival time, pet-friendly" Welcome to Hinesy’s Place — a peaceful 5-acre retreat nestled at the base of a mountain, where fresh sea breezes roll in and the beach is just a stone’s throw away. We’re only a 5-minute drive from the quiet township of Midge Point, easily accessible off the main road heading to Laguna Quays Resort. Set up camp your way! Our spacious, level grounds are perfect for tents, vans, and caravans — with no designated sites, you're free to pick your ideal shady spot and enjoy the ocean air. What We Offer: 🛻 Unpowered Camp Site; Non-designated Camping – Choose your own site on arrival 🔌 1 Powered Site – Located beside the dam 🔥 Campfire Area – Communal firepit with seating and firewood provided 🚿 Water Tap Onsite 🐾 Pet-Friendly – Well-behaved dogs welcome (must be on leash or enclosed – we have 3 friendly little dogs) 💨 Cool Coastal Breezes – Enjoy refreshing sea air day and night 🚗 2WD Accessible – Suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans, and RVs Nearby Attractions: 🏖️ 5 min – Midge Point Beach ✈️ 19 min – Whitsunday Coast Airport 🛶 10 min – Jimmy’s Rocks Boat Ramp (perfect for fishing & crabbing) 🛍️ 20 min – Proserpine 🌊 35 min – Airlie Beach 🌳 35 min – Cedar Creek Falls (a beautiful spot for swimming and picnicking, with a stunning waterfall to enjoy) Local Tips: Tavern Bistro – Just down the road for delicious meals, icy drinks, and a casual game of pool (best to book ahead) Explore the Area – Walk 10 mins to the Whitsunday Waters Estate beach access, wander a 2km bush trail, or hike up the mountain to the old Laguna Quays Resort lookout for breathtaking views (bring water, good shoes, and a camera — it’s steep!) Superb little spot flat and grassy, Vanessa is the perfect host very friendly and has plenty of tips for exploring and things to do. Highly recommend this camp for a relaxing getaway.

Great hosts, welcomed on arrival, easy setup on level site. Friendly without being intrusive. Thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay. Nice chats on departure. Thanks Vanessa and Craig.

Ripper little spot!! Town water and power if you need it! Great location to base yourself. Bob was a fantastic host with a wealth of local knowledge. We will be back cheers guys

Absolutely enjoyed our stay at Hinesy’s place. We stayed in front of the dam with access to power and water (via long hose that was provided). Communal fire pit was a hit! Our kids 7, 4 & 2yrs loved the open space and the puppies! Just a note to campers with kids, dam isn’t fenced just in case you have little run-aways.

Great quiet spot, well kept for and very clear guidance on arrival. Fire pit had wood in it which was much appreciated on the cold night. Would 100% recommend!

This was a lovely spot. Plenty of room to set up our caravan and water hookup was available if you needed it at no extra charge. The fire pit was stocked with wood which would have been great for a group, but we thought it was too much for just the two of us. Maybe a smaller pit would have been better. Vanessa is a great host and we would certainly recommend staying here

Beautiful hosts, we felt so welcome here! Sites are nice and flat, with heaps of room. The huge fire drum was filled to the brim!

Great spot and really friendly hosts. Shady or sunny spots on flat ground, plenty of wood for fires and close to Airlie Beach for day trips etc. We stayed an extra night.
