🌿 Hart in Stone Hideaway – A Weekend Retreat in the Heart of Nature 🐎 **No horses in camp grounds paddock - sorry for any inconvenience** Location: Coominya, QLD | 13 Private Acres | 25 mins to Gatton | 1 hr from Brisbane Step away from the chaos and into the calm. Tucked away on 13 serene, tree-lined acres, Hart in Stone Hideaway offers the perfect camping escape for couples, solo travellers, or nature-loving friends looking to unwind, recharge, and reconnect. Set on a private property surrounded by native bushland and gently grazing horses, this peaceful patch of country is all about wide open skies, quiet mornings, and rustic charm. Located just over an hour from Brisbane, and under 30 minutes to Gatton, Fernvale or Plainland, you’re close enough for convenience — but far enough to breathe. Whether you’re pitching a tent or parking a van, there’s room to spread out and enjoy the good life. Flat grassy areas provide easy set-up and campfire-ready spots, with a low-key atmosphere. Watch the sun rise through the landscape, spot wildlife at dusk, or just sit back and enjoy the company of the horses grazing nearby. Overlooking rolling paddocks, scattered trees, and our peaceful dam, it’s a welcoming space with plenty of fresh country air and room to breathe. You might see our horses grazing nearby or spot native birds between the gums. The dam is yours to enjoy—bring a kayak, take a dip on a warm day, or simply sit by the water’s edge and soak up the view. Campfires are welcome when fire bans are not in place—there’s nothing better than a crackling fire under the stars. Pets are more than welcome too, as long as they stay on a lead or are securely contained. While your site is spacious and mostly private, you may catch sight of other campers across the property. There are no bathroom or power facilities, so we ask all guests to come self-contained and to take all rubbish and waste with them. Lovely location! Beautiful and quiet. Close to Wivenhoe so perfect to go for a day trip in for a swim. Lovely land and lots of space! Would definitely recommend!

We were the only ones camped there for the one night we stayed. Due to the lack of rain the area was nothing like what is depicted in the photos. We weren't sure where the numbered camp areas were as it's all one big paddock. It was quiet and would be good for those wanting to experience camping in the country. We were there by ourselves (2 of of us), but it would be good space if you are going with a group. Easy to get into in our 19.6" caravan. It's not far to the small town where we filled up with fuel at a good price.

Great hosts. Open paddock so can set up wherever. A little noise from neighbours but within reasonable times. We extended our stay to enjoy the peaceful paddock all to ourselves.

Nice spot to relax with a campfire under the stars, there's plenty of firewood around. The dogs enjoyed walks exploring the property & dam. Shops are only a few minutes up the rd. Wade was friendly and showed us to the site where you are free to pick your own spot.

Lovely spot close to the rail trail. I was doing the trail solo and chose to book a campsite for the extra safety it offers over some of the free ones. Wade was great at making me feel welcome and he offers a lot of freedom for choosing a spot on the property. There was a shelter in the paddock for me to keep some of my gear under. There is a friendly horse living in the paddock though I didn’t see it, only heard it which was a nice touch. Thank you Wade for the lovely quiet spot, with lots of branches laying around for a warm campfire. 🙂 I will definitely be back next time!

Wade was very welcoming and helpful. In fact he even offered to cut up some firewood but after I'd seen the abundace of wood to gather there was no need. He leant me a shovel (for my hot coals) and was good for a friendly chat. The land was fantastic and very spacious with many optons of where to camp whether you like shade or a nice clearing . There is a beautiful big dam that wade intends to stock with fish in the future . Friendly cow in next doors property . Very peaceful place to camp with zero road noises . I enjoyed it so much I booked again for the very next weekend! I'd recommend this place to everyone . This place could accomidate a large group of campers with room to spare for other smaller groups or solo campers.
