Complimentary rooster wake up calls
We really should have checked the reviews before booking this spot - that’s on us. We chose this spot for its convenient location near an event, but unfortunately, many of the negative reviews were accurate.
The property felt more like a large backyard with about six campsites packed closely together. There’s a big gum tree in the middle with a lot of debris caught in the branches, hanging directly above two of the sites. Luckily, ours wasn’t one of them - it looks like a potential hazard if something came down on a car, trailer, or person.
We had site #4, the most exposed spot, right next to the owner’s house. They keep chickens that roam freely across the property and at least two roosters that started crowing around 3am. A neighbouring rooster joined in, and by the time we packed up and left around 9am, the occasional crow was still to be heard.
If you’re considering staying here and are looking for a relaxing get away, let me save you the trouble - don’t.
