Great place to park if you're going to the city! Hookups and shower available! If you have a larger rig, use a Garmin to get there. Google will take you down roads with low clearance.

My second stay here, really love it as the only urban camping I’ve ever seen on HipCamp. Very safe, surprisingly quiet at night. Love the hot showers and Wi-Fi.

This place is pretty remarkable, because I’m sure you’ve never considered camping in New York City. The positives: easy to get to without a lot of City driving, plenty of space, electrical hook ups, safe section of town, bathrooms with toilets and showers, shockingly quiet at night. The Wi-Fi was fast and steady and it was good enough for me to have zoom meetings. The negatives: most of the sites aren’t actually numbered so you just sort of pick one but everyone who arrives looks very confused, the parking lot surroundings aren’t very beautiful and there’s a lot of weird stuff being stored in the parking lot from the gym next-door, and the bathrooms aren’t great. But, come on, it’s New York City. You’re not staying at the Ritz and this definitely is not the Ritz. This is absolutely the least expensive way to stay in New York while sleeping in your own bed. The subway is about four blocks away and it takes about 25 minutes to get to Manhattan. I absolutely loved it and will definitely be back.

I was in the non-view location. It was safe, peaceful, and friendly. I took the dog walking to the view every day, so I didn't miss being located on the river. It was an easy walk to the subway, and my dog walked right onto the train no problem. It's a super place to stay!

The lot was secure and relatively quiet. I felt comfortable in the neighborhood. "Jack" seemed nice enough, but not overly friendly. He hadn't gotten the message I sent weeks before until I was there and trying to pull into the lot, which I found to be kind of annoying. The bathrooms were on site but were not clean and did not have any soap. Overall, I would stay again due to how secure and relaxed the environment is. Brooklyn is not as convenient as I thought it would be due to having to take 3 different trains to where I needed to go in Manhattan --though the camp is just a short 5-10 minute walk to the G train .

Alex is an awesome host, the showers worked perfectly and I think they had about 10. The bathrooms were functional and had full sized sinks with lots of room for shaving and dental space. The showers are also sheltered from the elements. Parking and hookups were a breeze. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK FOR ROAD CLOSURES! The ride in was a breeze in our little rv but there was a bicycle tour the day we were leaving and all of NYC was chaos trying to get out. It was really nice that we were allowed late check out due to the circumstances our GPS was useless fortunately we knew our way around and had to go block by block to the 92nd street on ramp to the Verazanno. Greenpoint is awesome and very safe though always use caution at night and on thesubway. The lot itself is probably the quietest place I've ever been in NYC. At no point did I feel unsafe in the lot. There is a cool little movie theater a block away that was great. I would not call Greenpoint a community of early risers, before 8 am it's a ghost town. If you want to take a morning jog or walk you will practically have the place to yourself. I went to a polish restaurant called polizaski or something like that and it was terrific. Lots of little artsy shops and an axe throwing pub on the same block that was not loud or disruptive. YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS PLACE IT IS A TRUE GEM!

Parking lot in the best area in Brooklyn (Maybe all of NYC?). Absolutely loved the area and vibe. Felt very safe. No bathrooms or showers** there is a public bathroom ~3 minute walk away open 8-4 otherwise you gotta figure it out!

We never found the WiFi connection but no problem…. used the phone hotspot. We arrived at 50 Noble and the entryway was open… never needed any access and we left via the open entrance

This is an OK Hipcamp for being right in the middle of Greenpoint Brooklyn. The host. Alex is very nice, he’s always available to open and close the gate for you. There is a Pickleball court right next-door. And when I was staying there, they were some early morning pickle ball games. But all in all if you’re looking for an RV park right in the middle of Greenpoint Brooklyn, this is a great place. It felt safe and there are many amenities right in the area.

Overall, I had an awesome experience. It felt VERY SAFE and was close to all the activities I had scheduled. People are amazed that I went camping in Brooklyn! It was awesome! Having said that, some of the photos on the site give the impression that you will be closer to the East River and have a NY skyline view. So just do your homework and look on Google Maps to see exactly where you will be. In addition, I was assured multiple times that the brand new bathroom facilities would be finished well before my arrival date. They were not finished. There was a public bathroom in the gym that is adjacent to the lot, but it closed every night around 6 pm. In addition, the only option for a shower required me to have the Camp Host accompany me with an access card. As inconvenient as that was, the fact is, the Camp Host was not on site for most of my visit — meaning NO access to showers. I have to admit, I was pretty annoyed by that. But I found a way to improvise and not let it ruin my time. I could see that the bathrooms would probably be done in another week or two. So if the bathrooms are finished, I would DEFINITELY stay again AND recommend it. I would not hesitate to recommend it for people who have an RV outfitted with a bathroom. Like I said, it’s a very safe and quiet area and it was so cool to be camping in Brooklyn.

With only a little bit of confusion we were able to find the site and the view was beautiful. I recommend having an RV for the best experience but tents work fine on the concrete. No movie played when we stayed so don’t get your hopes up. Lots of people but nobody bothered anybody. Safe secure lot with 4-5 bathrooms that do get filled up quickly, be patient! Overall great stay for through travel.

One of the coolest places we’ve ever stayed. We were able to set up a tent next to our non hookup spot and wandering around the area was very cool - there’s lots to do! My friends and I had a blast and the view was wild. The hosts were so helpful everytime we had a question! If the movies were playing there, it would have an over the moon experience. Otherwise bathrooms were super clean and the place was great. Thank you for a great stay!!!

The very best thing about this hip camp is the mesmerizing view of the lights and skyline of Manhattan while the sun is setting. I'll never forget it. It's in a safe neighborhood of Brooklyn - Greenpoint. I had no worries about walking alone from the hip camp to the subway stop 4 blocks away. It was easy to take the subway to Manhattan. There are some nice restaurants nearby too.

Our experience here was fantastic. What a great spot with amazing views of the NYC skyline. We parked and walked to restaurants in the Greenpoint neighborhood; an eclectic mix of industrial and residential buildings with a real neighborhood feel. Great restaurants nearby and small grocery stores. Easy access to the subway and ferry to get anywhere in Manhattan and beyond. The bathrooms were cleaned daily, showers had hot water, neighbors were all friendly and from all over the world! Look; you’re camping in a parking lot. It’s concrete. It’s New York City. There’s lots of light and surprisingly not that much noise (particularly compared to my last midtown hotel stay). The view is AWESOME. The host is great. It feels safe to leave your setup and explore. It feels safe all night long. The surrounding streets are buzzing with people coming to and fro, but you’re off the beaten path down what looks like an industrial access to a construction site. Don’t be fooled, it’s great.

Alex the onsite manager was great to deal with. Very later back and easy to talk to. At the time of my visit the location lacked facilities as there was only one bathroom with a shower in it to share with the whole property. But I was informed that a few more were in the process of being completed. The New York City Boondocking experience was amazing! It’s hard to put into words and how beautiful and breathtaking the scenery is from this location. The night view has to be one of the best. Highly recommended.
