This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, bugs, geckos, free roaming chickens or other elements to be expected in nature, this might not be the place for you. Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. Tucked away on our family farm in the backroads of Waimanalo, this private wall tent is situated where we once housed horses, looking out onto the orchards, freshwater stream, and mountains. The area is entirely your own, with a private bathroom and covered lanai. The tent is tastefully styled with a very comfortable queen sized bed, reading chair, full electricity and wifi. A single cot can be set up for additional guests. The lanai has a picnic table overlooking the fields and Olamana mountain peaks. There is a single burner campstove with hot water kettle so that you can brew morning coffee and tea, and a mini fridge for cold goods and perishables. The private bathroom is just behind the tent and has a sink, hot shower, and flush toilet.

Tucked away on our family farm, this tent is situated under the covers of our old barn looking down into a banana patch and freshwater stream. This tent and area was recently renovated, with a larger tent, very comfortable queen sized bed, and a chair that folds out into a single futon. Alongside the tent is a private seating area with picnic table, propane cooktop, cooler, sink, and basic cookware and utensils. The barn bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet is just a stones throw away. Wifi signal is strong and the tent has electricity. This tent and lounge area is shielded by a cedar privacy fence, but the bathroom is shared with two farmhands. We really enjoyed our time here! We were able to find it in the dark just fine, the directions they send are super helpful/detailed! We really enjoyed the outdoor shower, the bathroom was clean too. The chickens are loud in the morning, this didn’t bother us at all because we’re heavy sleepers and just rolled over and went back to sleep but if you are a light sleeper this would probably be an issue for you. Was located pretty close to town too and things we wanted to do which was great! We were able to book last minute with no issues too. I would definitely recommend! Beautiful views!

Exactly as described. If you can't handle bugs don't stay here. Aside from that, this place is an amazing place to stay in Oahu if you want to be removed from the hustle and bustle. We stayed in Waikiki for 4nts and here for 3nts. Total opposite ends of the spectrum but totally worth it. The farmstay has a backdrop you only see in movies. The natural sounds were soothing and the facilities were just fine (as long as you don't expect A/C and a TV. It was great to be disconnected from the real world. There's a backup generator for power if the solar battery bank runs out. With that being said, it was nice to be in complete darkness to be honest. If you've camped before then this would be perfect for you. If you have not camped before but want a break from city life then give this amazing place a chance. Wonderful experience.

Don’t listen to any of the mixed reviews. This place exceeded all of our expectations. It was the perfect place to spend a few nights, the hosts were kind, showers were hot and views were to die to die for. We are very grateful that the farm allowed us to experience a slice of their life.

I had a wonderful stay here. The view is incredible to wake up to every morning. The outdoor shower is hot and you can see the mountains as you shower. The owner was very nice and answered all my question’s.

This campsite seems to be very popular because of it's gorgeous surroundings and easy access back to Honolulu, with that said, I'd prefer if there was a 2nd bathroom, or even a portable potty to avoid waiting.

The site itself is lovely, (no shade/trees) but it is close to neighbors houses and had three of us hipcampers in a relatively medium sized open space. The neighbors threw a fairly loud music party Saturday night with something that sounded like cannon fire near the end. My fellow campers were the ones who made the rest of my time there not as good as it could have been, mostly the knocks on the single stall, but also their late arrivals with lights. I would recommend insulation foam for the hot water shower pipe, I caught it with my wrist and got a burn. The ground between the campsites and the bathroom is dirt, which when wet from a shower or rain leads to dirty shoes so have a spot to store those. I would absolutely stay there again, the view is incredible.

Such a beautiful place to camp on the north side of the island. So cool to see what they have done with the farm and the views are incredible. Will definitely camp there again if we make our way back to Oahu!

What fantastic hosts at the most peaceful local farm that we enjoyed to the utmost. We we attending an event in Waimanalo & though enjoyed the event wished we could have stayed at the our tent camp the entire time. The unit had all the amenities we needed & more. The deluxe tent with the most amazing comfortable bed, well placed lighting & cozy comfort. We slept so well, we ordered the same bed. Thank you so much Dave & Lex for everything. A wonderful spot that we'll return to someday soon!

We really enjoyed camping at Waimanalo Farmstay! The place has everything you need — a nice, clean bathroom, a sink and a lovely covered seating area. We also loved the location and the beautiful views! Communication with the hosts was very friendly and easy. Thank you so much — we’d definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It felt like we were a world away. The farm was so beautiful and peaceful. Dave is a wonderful host, he is kind, friendly and easy to communicate with. You will feel the aloha spirit here. Bring some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. You can hear everything around the farm, especially the numerous roosters that roam around the area and crow at odd hours of the morning. :) Definitely bring mosquito repellent as there are lots of mosquitos that hang out at this super cool place.

Awesome hosts, Dave is a great guy and you can tell they put a lot of work and love into their beautiful space! The views were unreal, especially being able to see the mountains while you’re taking a nice hot outdoor shower! It was so fun to learn and be lucky enough to score an avocado and banana’s from Dave! Everything was perfect and is as described! But better 😉 thank you again for your guy’s hospitality!

It was so peaceful and relaxing. We rolled in late, but followed the directions, and perfectly found our place. We joked it was like waking up in Jurassic Park without the fears of being eaten. Surroundings were like a movie set! It was an absolutely breathtaking experience

Mixed feelings with this spot. There's clearly effort here, but the site wasn't what we expected. The good: the area is stunning. Could make the highlight Hawaii views. Plus, the shower, bathroom, and sink are super nice. The bad: most pictures showed a car in the middle of a green field. We expected that, some privacy and remoteness. The actual campground is a small horse arena, on dirt. Camp spots are 10 steps away from each other. The result is that this is less of a remote camping near beautiful mountains, and more like a camping hostel. The first night was loud, with music and shouting past 11pm. It's good if you want to make friends and hang out, not great if you want to rest and get solitude.

It’s nice :) shower and toilet are clean, quality for a campsite, sprawling views to wake up to and only four campers in quite a big square pitch so you have a bit of space from each other. Little seating area under a shelter in case it rains in the evening so you don’t have to hangout in tent. Outdoor sink is drinking water to refill for the day. Chickens weren't TOO loud compared to other locations haha

Lovely spot in a lovely location. The tents are well-equipped and comfortable. Short drive to town and beaches, yet it is a pleasure to return to the farm setting of a night. Highly recommended to stay in this area of Oahu.

Great hidden spot with nice view, bathroom is super clean beyond expectation, though share among other camper so just have to wait a little until the other is done. Close to the beach, shaved ice and market, yet very quiet at night. Could be hot at times so bring a fan, and no light/electricity at bathroom after dark, but hot water is very hot and always available.
