Surrounded by three big lakes, just off the Yellowhead, and nestled into a community of hobby farms and cattle ranches, Hempcrete Haven is a perfect hideaway. The 40 acre family farm has been wild pasture and forest for decades. Rolling pasture, ponds, forests and native berries galore. We steward this land with care. Stay tuned for more cabins! Including a smaller dome in the back 40, and dome greenhouses!Welcome to our 40 acres! About 10 minutes off the Yellowhead and surrounded by a treasure trove of activities and nature. *** NOTE: The dome is currently undergoing extensive upgrades, including a new roof, more windows, and refinishing walls. It should be ready for campers by the end of July! We have rolling fields, ponds, forests and natural abundance. Go for an herbal walk and respectfully collect herbs. Enjoy the easy/moderate hike to the deep dark black spruce forest. Or, just relax on our safe and secure site. Perfect for those who want a bit of extra security during their stay (owner lives/works on site), and are interested in learning about natural building! We have several demonstration structures, including a hempcrete greenhouse, outhouse, and under-construction tiny house. The hempcrete dome is located near the main house, is about 16 feet in diameter or 200 square feet. It has three beds, a double and two singles, that fold into seating when not in use. There is a trick to the folding (ikea) so let us know if you need a hand. Bedding is not included. We do have free run hens, so please respect their search for tasty bugs in the grass. ----- Why hempcrete? Hempcrete is a code-accepted engineered infill technique made using local materials. The walls are naturally anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. They actually clean the air, as well as keep it cooler in summer, and easy to heat in winter. It's also virtually fireproof. Yes, you can build hempcrete to code. ----- Within 10 minutes you can head to Wabamun Provincial Park and town, and Alberta Beach. We have an excellent popular fishing hole just over 5 minutes away (Pitt Lake). We are about 25 minutes from Pembina Provincial Park. The dome is perfect all seasons! We have a heater available if needed, but these super insulated structures are very cost right up to the coolest parts of winter! We are just off the Yellowhead, and only a few hours from Jasper. Please note we do have a loud noise curfew of 9:30 pm. ********************************************************************************** DUE to EXTREME FIRE risk there is no smoking or fires of any type on the property. **********************************************************************************

Was a beautiful morning waking up to the birds and trees on the farm! Christina was understanding of last minute check-in changes, and the hemp dome was very homey and cozy. Had a great stay.

Super amazing little get away
Hempcrete Geodesic Dome
Amazing place would highly Recommend. It is so peaceful and quiet. And we got to walk quite far on 40 acres and there was horses and everything and it was just amazing time greatest place ever to get away. The host was amazing super nice And we're going to definitely come back

Perfect place to unwind. The Dome was awesome and very unique. Christine and the boys were so nice and down to earth. Loved have the cats and dog come visit. Nice location, far from the hectic world but close enough to lakes and small towns.

I loved Christina's land. It was so unique. The dome and the tiny house were amazing. She has the cutest kittens too. They come and visit you :-) I really appreciate that she made a fire pit for us despite of a lot of snow there. She was super friendly and accomodating. I am planning to go back there in summer. Thank you so much for the hospitality. My son still talks about you and the kittens. I hope he will have a chance to play with your boys next time we visit there. It was such an amazing weekend. Thank you, Christina!!

We were amazed by the hempcrete dome's structure. It is more spacious that we thought. Christina is friendly and thoughtful. She prepared a heater inside the dome for us before we arrived. The land is peaceful and beautiful. Christina sent us a pin that was really helpful for us to get to the place.

Quiet and relaxing
Hempcrete Geodesic Dome
A great location to unwind & disconnect. There are gentle walking trails all around the property, and a friendly dog, free ranging chickens, and goats to hang out with. Plenty of higher-octane activities very close by if you want that too. The hempcrete dome is very comfortable and Christina will educate you as much (or as little) as you want about how it is constructed and the environmental benefits of passive temperature control and air quality.

Hempcrete Geodesic Dome
Hempcrete Haven Farm has 2 tiny homes available to rent. Hempcrete Haven is located on the water table of the healing waters of Lac St. Anne. There are lots of trails to explore, horses, goats, free range chickens and of course the star of the show - Rocket the Blue Heeler. Christina and family are gracious hosts. Christina is very passionate about hempcrete and loves to answer questions about the product and the building process. There is electricity on site, well water available through a hose and firepits available for cooking or heating water. Please remember to bring your own pots and dishes! Christina has compiled a great list of nearby restaurants and entertainment if you aren't the "cook over the fire" kind of folks. A hemp composting outhouse is available on site. The hempcrete is a great insulator. A tiny space heater will keep you snug and warm at night. It's a great "get away from the city" spot. I can't wait to share with friends and family!

Affordable glamping
Hempcrete Geodesic Dome
My friend and I enjoyed our stay in the Geodesic dome! The Hempcrete dome was very cool, and Christina was a very responsive and accommodating host. We even had access to electricity which was unexpected! One thing I will mention is the proximity to the house on the property so that no one else looking to stay here is surprised. We could not tell from the photos that the dome is in the owner's backyard, so that is one thing to keep in mind though this did not impede our stay as Christina gave us all the privacy we wanted. The dome also is quite hot in the summer and the heat brings out the smell of the hemp, so just something to keep in mind for those looking to stay here in the future! But you can't go wrong for the price.

Hempcrete Geodesic Dome
Our stay was fantastic ! We are a family with 2 young children and a dog and we were all comfortable! The host is extremely friendly and nice. The dome is really well made and the property is beautiful. Really nice spot close to Alberta Beach, Wabamun Lake and East Pit Lake (which has tons of trouts). 100% recommend, we will be back!

Was a good stay, the dome was unavailable so instead we stayed in the hemp house. Heat was good, fire out was good. Private wasn’t bothered by anyone. Overall I’d refer them to another

Hempcrete Geodesic Dome
The hempcrete dome was very comfortable and the farm is beautiful! Christina communicated clearly and was very accommodating, and even put out a bowl of water for our dog which was a nice touch. All in all it was an excellent experience and we’d definitely recommend it!

Just wow!
Hempcrete Geodesic Dome
Such a unique building on a lovely property. One will be greeted by Rocket, the dog and free range chickens. Christina and her two boys are so welcoming and helpful. And if you enjoy the air quality in the dome and sre curious about the cause, just ask Christina. She is happy to share her knowledge and experience. We will be back for sure!!!
