Just down the road from historic Smithfield, Surry, Jamestown, and a ferry across to Williamsburg. Enjoy the peaceful quiet of camping on the farm. The wild blackberries are coming into season and the nightly fire fly show is amazing. Tons of sunflowers and other wildflowers have been planted and will be in full bloom during July/August.

Our weekend at Shine & Rise was exactly what we needed! Jay was super responsive and I highly recommend getting the farm tour - my partner enjoyed asking questions about the farm and it was the perfect end to our trip. Campsite was spacious and Jay provided a large picnic table and a toilet for us which was great.
Short drive to Cape Charles and Savage Neck and there’s a Walmart 9 minutes away if you forgot anything.

Nice quiet, clean, spacious spot on the edge of one of their farm fields. Picnic table and fire pit set up there for campers to use. It was absolutely perfect for someone like me driving down south needing a last minute spot to pitch a tent for the night, in order to catch some shut eye before hitting the toad again at 6am.

What a GREAT spot! The directions were spot on. The hosts were great. Greeting me and making sure I had everything I needed and replied to messages quickly. It was very quiet and lovely.
I brought bug spray, but they were too bad. Except, I did find a tick on me. So be careful. Nothing can be done about that. I WILL be back to the fabulous spot. Thank you Hosts for making a perfect place for me to pitch my tent.

This campsite was exactly what I was looking for to have a serene and private camping experience. The hosts were very hospitable when I arrived and they showed me all the amenities that I had access to with the campsite. I recommend this place for other Hipcampers and I look forward to coming back in the near future.
