The Guinea Farm, Field, and Forest

4 sites · Lodging, Tents18 acres · Diggs, VA
The Guinea farm is 18 acres of feild and forest on the rural middle pennensula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded beaches and a boat launch. There is verly little traffic or light polution here, nature is at your fingertips. Come visit the farm and experience agrotourism at it's finest. Pick your own veggies in the community garden and meet the Guinea fowl! Enjoy the windernes and learn about the local ecosystem here on the middle pennensula. There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria is a primative site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy is a suspended tree tent in the pines 700' beyond that and seperated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an offgrid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property. Each site is surronded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large feild. There are romaing guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack. There are free to use bicycles, an axe throwing board, and cornhole boards available. 4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

Shine & Rise Magic Food Forest

2 sites · RVs, Tents80 acres · Boston, VA
Our farm started as a soy field and has exploded into a biodiverse forest of fruits, nuts, vegetables, mushrooms, and more. The land is designed to mimic the strengths of a natural ecosystem so we plant to replicate the forest edge... except everything is edible. Think Willy Wonka's factory but with plants:)

Carolzy’s Secret Gardens

3 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Mechanicsville, VA
Twenty plus years ago, there was an ad in the paper listing ten acres for sale in Old Church. It has always been a special place and so the adventure began... We built the house and ever since, have been adding gardens, paths, trails, benches, swings and generally giving back the love to the land for the pleasure it has provided. As a result, there is wildlife and birds galore. Hummingbirds will delight you as will the tree frogs and lizard frogs at the frog pond canoe. Wander down the path to our first vegetable garden location which is now a prime spot for pitching a tent or just hanging out and watching for deer, turkeys, or turtles. Depending on the season, you can enjoy blooming azaleas, coneflowers, crepe myrtles or zinnias. This is a super woodland that will give you every opportunity to relax and wonder at the beauty of nature. The RV site is close to the house and we will be right here should you need us.

Gratitude at the Mill Pond

2 sites · RVs, Tents30 acres · Heathsville, VA
In 1831 formerly Northern's Mill had an old mill house, dwelling house, outbuildings, mill pond and water courses with about 31 acres and was bought for an enormous amount of $10.00! At the working mill the owner's wife baked pies for the workers to enjoy while they waited for their ground grains (most likely corn, soybeans and wheat). The pond is also recognized as Courtney Mill Pond and Kissinger Mill Pond. Fires in the 1980's have claimed the building creating a perfect place for you to enjoy nature outside. Learn more about this land: Fresh and salt water surrounds a birding, fishing paradise with 5 acres to explore. Bald Eagles are a common siting. We offer a primitive camping experience in the heart of the Northern Neck.  The road is washed out and fresh water pond mostly drained. You will access from Mundy Point Road. This historical site had a working Mill built in the early 1800's. Please check out my friend's place nearby at Callao Brewery and Rivah Vineyards at the Grove!  Grab some fresh local veggies from one of the Amish stands and don't forget your tackle and bait at RW's. Camp 1 has the most room for car camping and groups close to the road and overlooking the pond. Camp 2 is a short hike to a private knoll overlooking the grassy marsh of Mill Creek, this is tidal water that flows to the Potomac. Welcome to Gratitude!

Historic "GREEN HILL" on the Nomini Creek

3 sites · Tents25 acres · Montross, VA

I take great care in this land and continuing to work on weekly. The number of sites are limited so each camper feels the total remoteness and beauty of this land. It insures the land stays pristine and wild. With surrounding lands in conservation you are truly with nature when you arrive.Learn more about this land:Pitch your tent on historic "GREEN HILL", in the Northern Neck, Westmoreland county founded in 1653.The highest elevation in Mt. Visionary Trailz

2 sites · RVs, Tents35 acres · Saint Stephens Church, VA
Come and enjoy a piece of this 35 acres former Equestrian facility. Experience our growth as we reopen former trails through this lovely Indian Neck property. We have a level 2 EVSE (EV charger) with J1772 plug on site. We are minutes away from the Rappahannock tribal center and the chief's former residence is literally across the street. There is numerous wildlife including birds, deer, butterflies, groundhogs, skunks, and rabbits on the property. The town of Tappahannock in Essex County where there's a Walmart and dining options is a short 9 miles away. Also in Tappahannock is the Rappahannock River with boating, fishing, and great views of the river itself. Our home and some of the outbuildings was built in the late 1700's. When I think about the fact that we live in a house that was here during the war of 1812, it just blows my mind. The property itself was once part of a much larger plantation as was many of the properties in the area. The property was once a dairy farm and after that it was a equestrian operation. Throughout the woods there are overgrown trails that were once the horse riding trails. We are working to re-open those trails for walking and biking. In the future we would like to offer a dump site, electric and water hookups at a few of our sites, and porta-johns.
