At Hill River Farm, you'll find a peaceful retreat nestled on the banks of the Chapman River (though the river is not visible from the campsite), surrounded by gum trees and lawn, accompanied by the calls of kookaburras and other local wildlife.

In winter, horses sometimes graze freely in the paddocks,  and you feel the peace and quiet of a rural property. 

We offer potable water and a pristine natural setting, but we kindly ask that you bring everything you'll need to remain self-sufficient, however we now have a portaloo available for use.

Located just 15 minutes from Geraldton and its beautiful beaches, Hill River Farm is far enough away to immerse yourself in nature’s tranquility and safety and security that being rural entails.

The Cottage Garden

This property was owned by an Italian family who came to Australia in the 30's. We bought the house in Aug 2021 and fell instantly in love with it and all its quirkiness.  The original cottage is still on site and is a long term renovation project for us, it may be old but holds lots and lots of history behind them walls.

The verandah area is yours to use, if you wish, for a bit of extra room to escape the rain or provide a bit of shade (depending on season) it has a powerpoint and light for your convenience.  

Unfortunately, as there are building works happening at the back of the cottage we have closed access to the toilet area for your safety at this time.

The Mallee Manor Campground Dongara

Sharing our land to allow others passing by Dongara/ Port Denison the opportunity to enjoy the tranquility the property offers and time to explore the area.

Currently this is land only, no water or power so requires being fully self contained.  (Dump point available near the town oval)

Our property is located  only 4kms from town, a quick drive and you can check out the amazing array of cafes and eateries and the gorgeous little shops, drop in to the visitor centre and get all the know on the towns heritage plus walking trails.

Head to the marina precinct and enjoy the beautiful foreshore and its facilities plus south beach and the Seafolk Cafe. 

The Irwin river is also within walking distance, a beautiful little spot to sit and ponder and in the right season drop in some yabbie nets for a little catch .

Dogs are permitted, however there are sheep on the property and surrounding properties please ensure they remain under your control.

Kangaroos also frequent the area

Small fires are permitted during the winter season.

The main residence is visible from the paddock and is not for access.

Dongara Bush Camp

A Private camp ground nestled amongst wattle native bush and wildlife. With the smell of the ocean in the air. 

This property provides a base for off road enthusiasts, nature lovers and the fisherman.

With amazing sunsets and stargazing for days this property will not disapoint..

A 7km drive will put you in the heart of Dongara where you can browse the local township. Taking in the local heritage  or browse through the shops with a stop at the local for those that are working up a thirst.

Got a picnic basket?  then head to Port Denison Foreshore for a day on the beach. Sheltered picnic tables and bbq's with boat launching facilities.

Animals, bikes, canoes, walking

and swimming.

This property features paddocks with shady trees.  Situated close to the river. The beach is a short drive away.

Horses and small animal experience available, ask on arrival. I recommend booking a walk with the horses the river for an hour.

This campsite has access to a beautiful toilet/hot shower and drinking water supply in the workshop. There is also an outdoor shower in a water tank surround and an outside bath heated by a fire. Small camp kitchen with coffee machine, fridge, sink and bench also in the workshop. 

Large outdoor movie screen, we generally screen family movies on Saturday night among the gum trees and strings of lighting. Please enquire if you are interested.

Campfires and bonfires permitted in winter. No fire from October to May.

While you're here check out the Greenough walk and cycle track that follows the river. It's only 3km to the beach, and you can walk or take your bike there (bike hire is available in town). We have canoes.

Greenough Settlement/café and Wild Life Park close by.

Pets welcome on a lead. Off lead welcome after we had met and chatted. Dogs are a danger to all horses, guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens. Off lead without consultation will not be tolerated.

Please enter Devlin Pool Rd at the Northern end where it meets Jandanol Rd. We are the 3rd driveway.

Humble Abode

A convenient location that’s only 7 minutes from the beach and town of Geraldton. 

We welcome self-contained campers of all sizes onto our flat, grassy block of land. Create a sanctuary under the established gum trees, nestled amongst the birds and our friendly sheep. The land is fully fenced, has it’s own gate entry and plenty of space for you to set up wherever you choose. We are open to pets, and if need be, the sheep can be moved to our other paddock to ensure the safety and comfort for all animals.

The Humble Abode is the home of the owners, an adventurous toddler, our new baby and our two friendly dogs (who will likely do their job and bark on your arrival). This part of our land is sectioned off and not open to the public. 

*** A SEASONAL NOTICE ***
During the winter months, our land is lush and green. During our dry season, the land will reflect as so. Please be mindful of expectations when booking in the harsher, hotter seasons. We are proudly organic and tend to the regeneration of our land seasonally.

Melaleuca Hideaway

The campsite is located on 40 acres, just 10 minutes north of Dongara, 35 minutes south of Geraldton and a 6-minute drive to Seven Mile Beach. 

Seven Mile Beach is known for it's beautiful turquoise water and white sandy beaches. You can walk for miles and dogs can be off leash. You can also snorkel over the reef area close to shore, fish off the beach, kayak or just swim.

The campsite is secure and easy to access. You can set up anywhere in the vicinity of the lean-to shed in the neatly mowed area. The area is relatively flat with scattered limestone cap rock. It is easy to manouvre around, even for large vans including 5th wheelers. The camping area is approximately one acre, surrounded by trees.

You’re welcome to walk around the bottom of the property, staying within the boundary of the ring lock fencing.

We reside at the rear of the property in a fully fenced area with two dogs. The campsite is located near the front of the property. There are melaleuca trees/bush between both locations that offer privacy and the perfect setting for a campsite. 

You’ll have the whole site to yourself or with your traveling companions. (The site can accommodate up to 3 vans if travelling together). It’s self check-in, and we’ll respect your privacy — the area is yours to enjoy.

Pets are welcome off leash, provided they are under control and you remain mindful of the local wildlife. We often see families of kangaroos, the occasional echidna, and several bird species that love the Melaleuca trees on our property.

There’s a lean-to shed for your use and plenty of great spots to set up your van or tent. Please note you’ll need to be fully self-sufficient regarding power and ablution facilities. There is however a 3000 litre fresh water tank for your use.

During the autumn and winter months, once the spring/summer fire ban is lifted, you’ll have access to a fire pit and firewood for a cozy campfire.

At night time the night sky is amazing, so much to see. Most nights the ocean can be heard in the distance breaking on the reef. Perfect location to rest/recharge.

Greenough Nature Stay

Magnificent 15 acre block set amongst an abundance of mature native trees with flat camp sites. Set along side the Greenough river and Greenough nature trail.
You will enjoy a variety of birds whilst relaxing in one of the six natural bush sites.
Each site is private, has its own composting toilet, solar powered led lights and usb port. There is a unique shared bush shower from a tree.
Just over the road is the of 17 km nature trail around the very scenic Greenough River.
Only 15  minutes from Geraldton and 7 minutes to our treasured surfing and dog beach. 
Dogs are very welcome but must be on a leash whilst on the property as there is friendly chooks and sheep wandering around.

Knapps Stay

It is 4wd only as the tracks can get boggy in summer.
Nestled amongst coastal bush and dunes with private beach access, the campsite is located half way between Dongara and Geraldton. It has access to Head Butts and Flat Rocks surf breaks with excellent fishing and diving available.

Land only, NO amenities so must be self sufficient.
