This property was owned by an Italian family who came to Australia in the 30's. We bought the house in Aug 2021 and fell instantly in love with it and all its quirkiness. The original cottage is still on site and is a long term renovation project for us, it may be old but holds lots and lots of history behind them walls. The verandah area is yours to use, if you wish, for a bit of extra room to escape the rain or provide a bit of shade (depending on season) it has a powerpoint and light for your convenience. Unfortunately, as there are building works happening at the back of the cottage we have closed access to the toilet area for your safety at this time.

Magnificent 15 acre block set amongst an abundance of mature native trees with flat camp sites. Set along side the Greenough river and Greenough nature trail. You will enjoy a variety of birds whilst relaxing in one of the six natural bush sites. Each site is private, has its own composting toilet, solar powered led lights and usb port. There is a unique shared bush shower from a tree. Just over the road is the of 17 km nature trail around the very scenic Greenough River. Only 15 minutes from Geraldton and 7 minutes to our treasured surfing and dog beach. Dogs are very welcome but must be on a leash whilst on the property as there is friendly chooks and sheep wandering around.

This is our 2nd stay at Hill River Farm and can't recommend this hipcamp enough! Anita (Host) and her children have been so accommodating - friendly and approachable, making us really feel at home. Our kids have had a ball petting the animals, riding bikes and playing on the playground. We feel very safe, have access to great water, lovely large grassy sites and have bought firewood from the host family, so am looking forward to spending Easter in this bush camp setting. Note: Anita has installed a porta-loo since our last camp. It's the nicest smelling toilet we've ever used and very clean. Unsure if it's just for the Easter period or a permanent fixture. But such an unexpected bonus!

We really enjoyed staying at Cottage #3. It was private and we loved having the beach all to ourselves! The cottage is very comfortable, the view is absolutely incredible and listening to the sounds of waves crashing all night is very soothing. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back!

Hill River was such a relaxing stay We were originally just going to stay one night, but after spending our first night here we decided it was so good we wanted to stay another one! Easy 15 minute drive into town Anita was incredibly friendly and accommodating The grounds were beautiful, lovely grass areas with shady trees for the hot days Couldn’t recommend enough and would love to come back and stay again!

What a lovely spot. A true hidden gem! We were pleasantly surprised to find this lovely spot with green grass and bore water available on the site so we could drive directly there without having to find somewhere to fill up our water tanks in the van. Very convenient with just a short 10 min to drive to town.

Dongara Tourist Park is a lovely holiday destination to visit as a family or on your own. It was well maintained and the amenities were kept clean daily. The other guests were respectful of noise. Places of interest weren't too far and it was close enough to the beach to be able to hear the waves crashing at night. I highly recommend Dongara Tourist Park, and would definitely visit again.

Sara and Paul are very friendly and welcoming hosts. Freedom to find your own spot on their property. Dogs allowed off-leash is amazing, makes everything much more relaxed. Very short walk to the Greenough River, will definitely bring kayaks next time. 16km Loop of the Greenough Nature Trail right on their doorstep offers wonderful scenery. Toilet and shower are more than enough for a camping trip and were well presented. We were self sufficient but the facilities offer services for those that aren't. Loved the outdoor movie night they put on! We had no problems with anything and would definitely stay again.

Animals, bikes, canoes, walking and swimming. This property features paddocks with shady trees. Situated close to the river. The beach is a short drive away. Horses and small animal experience available, ask on arrival. I recommend booking a walk with the horses along the river for an hour. This campsite has access to a beautiful toilet/hot shower and drinking water supply in the workshop. There is also an outdoor shower in a water tank surround and an outside bath heated by a fire. Small camp kitchen with coffee machine, fridge, sink and bench also in the workshop. Large outdoor movie screen, we generally screen family movies on Saturday night among the gum trees and strings of lighting. Please enquire if you are interested. Campfires and bonfires permitted in winter. No fire from October to May. While you're here check out the Greenough walk and cycle track that follows the river. It's only 3km to the beach, and you can walk or take your bike there (bike hire is available in town). We have canoes. Greenough Settlement/café and Wild Life Park close by. Pets welcome on a lead. Off lead welcome after we had met and chatted. Dogs are a danger to all horses, guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens. Off lead without consultation will not be tolerated. Please enter Devlin Pool Rd at the Northern end where it meets Jandanol Rd. We are the 3rd driveway.

This part of our land is sectioned off and not open to the public. The East paddock is where it’s at — Create a sanctuary under the trees, nestled amongst the birds and our friendly sheep. The land has it’s own gate entry and has plenty of space. We are open to pets, and if need be, the sheep can be moved to our other paddock to ensure the safety and comfort for all animals. *All campers must supply their own toilets / amenities. A SEASONAL NOTICE — Our land currently reflects the dry season that we’ve had, with minimal grass sprouting and lots of ground left uncovered. We are proudly organic, so we allow our sheep droppings to become a part of the soil once our rains come back. Please be mindful of this when booking during the hotter seasons!
