Animals, bikes, canoes, walking and swimming. This property features paddocks with shady trees. Situated close to the river. The beach is a short drive away. Horses and small animal experience available, ask on arrival. I recommend booking a walk with the horses the river for an hour. This campsite has access to a beautiful toilet/hot shower and drinking water supply in the workshop. There is also an outdoor shower in a water tank surround and an outside bath heated by a fire. Small camp kitchen with coffee machine, fridge, sink and bench also in the workshop. Large outdoor movie screen, we generally screen family movies on Saturday night among the gum trees and strings of lighting. Please enquire if you are interested. Campfires and bonfires permitted in winter. No fire from October to May. While you're here check out the Greenough walk and cycle track that follows the river. It's only 3km to the beach, and you can walk or take your bike there (bike hire is available in town). We have canoes. Greenough Settlement/café and Wild Life Park close by. Pets welcome on a lead. Off lead welcome after we had met and chatted. Dogs are a danger to all horses, guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens. Off lead without consultation will not be tolerated. Please enter Devlin Pool Rd at the Northern end where it meets Jandanol Rd. We are the 3rd driveway.

This property was owned by an Italian family who came to Australia in the 30's. We bought the house in Aug 2021 and fell instantly in love with it and all its quirkiness. The original cottage is still on site and is a long term renovation project for us, it may be old but holds lots and lots of history behind them walls. The verandah area is yours to use, if you wish, for a bit of extra room to escape the rain or provide a bit of shade (depending on season) it has a powerpoint and light for your convenience. Unfortunately, as there are building works happening at the back of the cottage we have closed access to the toilet area for your safety at this time.

Magnificent 15 acre block set amongst an abundance of mature native trees with flat camp sites. Set along side the Greenough river and Greenough nature trail. You will enjoy a variety of birds whilst relaxing in one of the six natural bush sites. Each site is private, has its own composting toilet, solar powered led lights and usb port. There is a unique shared bush shower from a tree. Just over the road is the of 17 km nature trail around the very scenic Greenough River. Only 15 minutes from Geraldton and 7 minutes to our treasured surfing and dog beach. Dogs are very welcome but must be on a leash whilst on the property as there is friendly chooks and sheep wandering around.

Please Note: There is a security camera notice up. Pease note it only covers entry to the front gate. After that, once through the front gate you have complete privacy. It is for insurance purposes. The property is on the coral coast, Irwin Shire. It is 2km from 7 Mile Beach, 10 km north of Dongara and Port Denison, 55km south of Geraldton. Camping is on the front entrance of the property only, it is fairly flat land with a high western bush rise protecting from westerlies. The site overlooks the surrounding valley landscape. The access road is fairly quiet. The property is surrounded by restaurants, north and south, amazing beaches, like South Beach in Port Denison and up and down the coast. There is a wild life sanctuary in Greenough and a Tavern in near by Walkaway. There are also several dog boarding kennels. In Geraldton north is a very popular international wind surfing community and surfing is well catered for as well. Bookara is surrounded by organic farms and there is a local goat cheese factory, and many other enterprises. Up past Walkaway is Denison's pool a local gorge and an indigenous heritage site. It goes without saying that the fishing is good too. There are sheep on the property, so care must be taken entering and leaving the property. Property next door to the Greenough Village Historical township. Important!! PLEASE MAKE EARLY CONTACT WITH OWNER TO OBTAIN THE GATE CODE. Please lock gate when leaving the property.

Would highly recommend stopping at this beautiful place. I arrived to a warm welcome from Sara, she was very accommodating and understanding as she helped me settle in. The place was beautiful with heaps of room for for families and a walk away from the river . I got to park near the horses and the pony , too cute 😊 Thank you Sara for making me feel welcome 🙏

We really enjoyed the relaxed, secluded powered site beneath a huge shady tree, and our dog was very reluctant to leave after a two night stay. The spacious sites are level and mostly covered in grass, we were lucky to have the whole area to ourselves. Despite some traffic noise, the wandering chickens created a countryside atmosphere.

This has to be our favourite Hipcamp ever!!! Sara was so kind and took amazing care of us. A stunning and peaceful location just out of Geraldton and only a couple of minutes off the highway. Our boys loved saying hi to the horses. We loved having a camp with a hot clean shower and a kettle!!!

We have a great time at Dougal’s retreat, we loved sitting by the fire watching the stars. Sara was delightful and was so good with our 4 year old taking her to see all the animals and letting her feed them and put them to bed. Would highly recommend this place as a base to explore Geraldton, thanks again Sara!

Was one of the best places we stayed driving from Broome to the south coast NSW. I would recommend this any day. Beautiful views excellent raw honey and just down the road some of the best fishing you could ask for

We loved camping at the Cottage Garden. It’s a great space and the perfect spot from which to explore Geraldton from. Erica and Alan made it all very easy, giving us great directions on how to find them and how to get into the property. The kids loved running around the garden and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Would happily stay there again.

My family and I were on transit to Monkey Mia and was certainly glad to be hosted by Sara. Sara helped to make us feel comfortable. Hot water shower was working, and my boys would have enjoyed a campfire if not for the dreadful rain. Location is easy to find, and short drive to Geraldton for coffee or a groceries run! Sara and Paul were awesome Hipcamp hosts! They showed me around their property on arrival, helped me gather firewood, and fixed a tweaked part on my campervan! The property is spacious, easy to navigate, and SO MUCH BETTER than a caravan park! Would absolutely stay again and thanks for the hospitality!!
