Castella River Farm is an 8 acre property with many natural features including Mountain Ash trees and bushland near the camp sites. The Yea river runs behind the property and camping areas. Locally we are close to all the Yarra Valley and Kinglake Ranges have to offer from wineries to the National Parks for hiking. We are 10 minutes from Kinglake township and 15 mins to Yarra Glen, which means a quick trip if you need supplies. The highway is close by which makes it handy to get out and about. Wildlife we have seen on the property includes Wallabies, Echidna, and an abundance of bird life. Laugh with the Kookaburras at sunset. Dogs are welcome however due to wildlife and the bush location, we ask that you please keep them on a lead at all times. If you are planning on bringing a dog with you, please let us know in advance. We also have horses (separate from the campsite) that campers can feed a carrot if they wish! Water is available from our stables water tank. It is Tank water so not crystal clear but think of it as euculyptus tea! NB: **We do have neighbours and the highway near by so there will be some noise . Would suit campers who want to kick the footy, wade in the river and maybe go 4wding or out and about fishing. Ok to play your own music near the camp fire as you are far enough away down the back paddock! **Not suited to those wanting to be in the middle of nowhere

We are located only 50 meters from the Hanging Rock winery and just 700 meters from the famous General Store. The property is off-grid. We have made several sites available with amazing views and close to a lake filled with trout and yabbies. Each site has a fire pit. A generator is available on request. There is a toilet on site. You will be around an abundance of native wildlife. Feel free to explore and find the 100+ year old native trees around the property. You're more than welcome to pet our rescue minaret donkey, horses, feed the geese or even go for a fish - rods supplied. Take a bicycle ride down picturesque Jim road or to the general store for a coffee. Bikes are available on request. We are only 45mins from Melbourne CBD, 3 mins drive to Hanging Rock, 10 mins drive to Woodend town, 15 mins to Kyneton and in the heart of regional Victoria’s best attractions.
