The property is amazing. Taylan met me at the entrance to give me directions and off I went. Campsite was very private on top of the hill. Taylan provided firewood which was more than enough on a cold autumn night. Heaps of stars, Roos and serenity. As described it’s a bit rocky so bring a good hammer for tent pegs. If it’s a bit wet outside make sure you have a capable vehicle otherwise it may prove a bit slippery with the hills and stones. Would recommend and will come again.

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway. We will be back for sure. The set up and amenities are great and makes for an easy camping trip.

We stayed on a powered site in our motohome. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet. At night the stars were amazing with no light pollution. We failed to follow the directions. But a phone call to Taylan resolved our problem. New to Hip camp it was our fault. (Though two 78 year olds visiting from England are proud of our trip) This site is one we will treasure!

Another perfect stay with family and friends and Shiprock. We'll be back next year!

Weekend Trip to Weemalah Cabin & Camping

From the entrance to the 360 site is loose gravel and some steep hills, if towing you will definitely require a 4WD. Once at the site the views will blow you away, it is amazing. We will definitely be back.

We had perfect weather and enjoyed swimming in the swimming hole.

We had a great time at “catch a Yabby or two” we ended up catching 5! But released them back. Lovely spot for our pup as well. He loved sniffing around and dipping his paws in the water. The directions to get there were great and very clear. Luckily we brought our 4WD instead of our sedan as we don’t think it would’ve handled the terrain.

We were impressed with the fire ring and wood supplied, the table and chair, the rake and shovel provided. The toilet provided and how spread out the sites were. Only complaint was the roads throughout, definitely only suitable for 4wd

Had the most serendipitous weekend at Anne-mare’s campsite, it exceeded already very high expectations. The creek is stunning, and so fun for swimming, paddling floating, jumping off the rocks and (attempted) fishing. The landscape is so beautiful, plenty of space for camping and so much to explore. We also booked the cabin which was beautiful and the jacuzzi looking out on to the fields was such a delight!! Anne-maree met us at the gate and was super lovely and comprehensive showing us around and being available if we needed. Would 100% go back here!!

Weekend Trip to Springview Farm

We had a ball at Jo's hipcamp. It is such a unique and well set up camp, with so many extras provided, it was the easiest camping trip ever. We went with young kids (aged 2 - 8) and there were so many activities for them to do, from tennis, to feeding the animals, to swimming. The kids (and adults) loved the slippery slide, and watching the kids kayak in the evening whilst we sat by the fire pit in the evening was a highlight. I would 100% recommend and we'd love to come back.

1 night at Magic Mountain

Patrick’s spot is amazing! I stayed by myself with my dog & there was so much space for us! It would easily accommodate large groups. The views over the mountains and area are amazing, both sunrise and sunset are spectacular! Can confirm as mentioned the driveway/road in is steep, no issue for a 4WD, but any other car you’d want to leave at the bottom and hike up. I will definitely be back to this spot with friends, definitely recommend!

Shady spot with access to nearby swimming hole. Fire pit provided and bench with plenty of dropped wood. Located on the internal property road but no passing traffic to speak of. Nice spot.

Weekend Trip to Springview Farm

We enjoyed camping at the Creek Plains site. It was a bit dusty and dry but that's a given in summer. The fire, nearby creek (not flowing but swimmable in January), and wind in the trees was lovely. We even had some King Parrots visit us one morning. The drive in has some pretty sharp rocks in places so keep that in mind if you have low profile tyres. Was peaceful and nice and although there are plenty of trees we got a camper trailer in without any trouble.

Springview farm exceeded our expectations in every single way possible. The photos don’t do this spot justice - the privacy, the comfort, the small touches, it’s everything you could want for a weekend away. Jo went above and beyond to help us with things we were organising for our hens. We LOVED the dam and the slip n slide. The camp kitchen had everything we needed and the glamping setup was unbelievably cosy and comfy. We will be back without a doubt

Seven Hills Tallarook

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we have now entered our Fire Danger Period for the 2024/2025 Summer Season. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property & family.

Magic Mountain

Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds. This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, a clear campground, and plenty of wildlife. The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non-4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. Which is part of the appeal! We welcome self-contained campers, who bring their own toilet and take all waste with them. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy. Or choose to stay in our beautiful A-frame cabin, with plush bedding, cozy fire, and outdoor lounge. More than anything else this is a place to relax and be away from normal, live outside yourself, and rediscover what weekends are for. Dogs are welcome, so long as they don't bother the wildlife. Campfires are allowed, BYO firewood or campers can collect fallen timber from the property.

Shiprock Farm

Bring the family and friends for a secluded and private wilderness experience surrounded by 60 acres of forest. This totally separate wilderness camping paddock sits within our organic permaculture farm property where we grow fruits, veggies, nuts and flowers. Set up camp in the shade on a gently sloping 2 acre paddock all to yourself - that's right - we are offering only one site listing (for you and up to 23 guests) situated about 1 km from the main farm house and completely surrounded by forest. A genuine wilderness experience with forest (tree) bathing, spring fed creeks and total peace for you and your group very close to Melbourne. You can hopefully spot our resident platypus and kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats etc. There’s also abundant bird life including lyre birds and eagles. Explore all the Yarra Ranges has to offer including a short walk to Shiprock Falls. Grab a coffee or pizza in nearby Gembrook and checkout some farm produce from your hosts before you leave. We have added a composting toilet, a drinking water tank and a bush pole shelter with cold water kitchen sink, phone charger ports, lights and hot water to a private shower and a picnic table with seats under cover. We have an adjacent fire pit area with tree log seating. You can order firewood from us too and a Coleman gas cooker with gas bottle (see extras). Most of the materials are repurposed from another property or scavenged from our forest. We hope to see you soon.

Merriwoola

Merriwoola is a property of outstanding natural beauty and offers guests a sanctuary from the world surrounded by parkland bush, mysterious boulders resting amongst the trees and numerous native animals including wombats, echidnas, kanagroos, wallabies, possums, koala and the most extraordinary birdlife. The property is defined by an ancient water course that cuts a 1km ravine through the property. During the winter the dry boulder-strewn gorge is transformed with waterfalls and cascades along its length and regardless of the season transports you to another time and place. There is limited solar power (enough for phones and laptops) and low flow water (enough to brush your teeth). Neither is guaranteed to be available. A wood stove heats the hut, boils the kettle and cooks your dinner; firewood is included. An open outdoor bathroom includes a sink, bath and drop toilet. Hot water is available but not promised. The hut is fenced and well-behaved dogs are welcome. This property is suited to resourceful guests who are familiar with lighting fires, swinging an axe and understanding rural courtesies. The abundance of wildlife is used to peace so if you are taking a dog with you then please keep it within eyesight and always under your control. Please also consider that the mobs of kangaroos that roam the property include some large bucks (boomers) that can be confrontational if surprised so please proceed with caution if approaching grazing animals.
