We are approximately 4km from the shops at Ellendale with stunning views of Mt Field East. Our property contains two camping grounds next to a healthy creek, all with plenty of space and privacy, and an orchard where seasonal fruits (Late Summer/Autumn only) can be handpicked. For experienced hikers there is direct access to the track for Brown Mountain. We are listing our property as 4WD only if you wish to take your vehicle directly into the camping areas. 2WD vehicles can be parked in a safe area just after the entrance to make your way on foot to camping spots.

The town has a children's park which contains play equipment, exercise equipment and a BBQ facility and public toilets. The shops provide basic essentials and a post office. A supermarket is situated in the nearby town of Ouse approximately 20 minutes drive from our property.

Nothing is provided, so please be self-sufficient before arriving and leave no trace. Campfires in designated areas only (not during fire ban periods).

Ravens Nest Tasmania

A small farm in the beautiful Central Highlands of Tasmania, near the best fishing spots in the country. We are on the Lyell Highway, halfway between the west coast and Hobart. Come and stay for a day or two. Enjoy clean air, wildlife and our farm animals. Help feed them if you like.Enjoy the quiet life in Tasmania. Go for day drives and be back at night. Launceston is only just over 2 hours drive. Or just sit under the trees and let life pass you by. We came here and never left.Dog friendly but dogs must be kept under control. Campers need their own amenities as there is no toilet or shower. Closest public toilets are at Wayatinah Village, about 10 kms away, where there is also a pub where you can get meals at night and a general store/post office/fuel outlet that is open for a couple of hours each day.

Small farm and vineyard at Macquarie Plains in the Upper Derwent Valley, southern Tasmania. The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna.

4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access.
Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). 

Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

Shires of Myrtle Forest

Shires of Myrtle Forest is a heavy horse stud located at Myrtle Forest on the back of Mount Wellington, just outside Hobart. We are a highland mountain property in the cool temperature rainforest just 15 minutes from the outskirts of Hobart We have a beautiful year round creek, resident heavy horses and great walking tracks. We are located a few hundred metres from the Myrtle Forest walk and waterfall.  We have unpowered sites located on the forest fringe, each with a firepit. We have firewood available so you can sit and enjoy the cool mountain evenings around the roaring fire. We have lovely rainforest to explore where wildlife abounds... wallabies, potoroos, wombats, bandicoots and Eastern quoll. Visitors must be self-contained. Dogs not permitted.In summer we have balmy days with views of Mount Wellington and in winter we often have snow to play in.Our resident horses love attention and a few carrots :) we breed shire horse and Freyja our resident drum horse loves a pat. Facilitated Daily walks available by appt.

Bomana - Bushland Delight with Breathtaking Views

Bomana is a 36 acre property in Carlton River, on the way to the Tasman Peninsular. It boasts stunning views of Fredrick Henry Bay, kunanyi and neighbouring rural landscapes. The owners live on site (top corner of the block). We are offering two opportunities to camp/van/caravan on this delightfully private land. When you book, you can be assured that the property is yours alone, making it a quiet and private experience. The unpowered site gives you the opportunity to enjoy the land. The powered site additionally gives you access to a bungalow which has a couch, TV, bed and dining table, as well as a very basic kitchenette with a toaster and kettle. There is also a power lead if you just want to run power to your own set-up. Campfires are a must - nothing better than watching the sun set around the campfire.

This is a leave no trace property that suits campers who bring everything they need (including a camping toilet) and remove everything they bring. Good access for 2WD vehicles and caravans.

 Lots of opportunities to capture photos of sensational sunrises and sunsets.

The property is 3km from Primrose Sands Beach (great for safe swimming). It is 4.5km from Carlton Beach (great for surfing), 37km from Port Arthur and 13km from Sorell. Hobart is 45km.

We have goats on the property so pets will be considered on a case-by-case basis, please ask before booking with pets.
