Located on the tourist trail of the Fleurieu Peninsula, close to local wineries and producers. Honeycombe Tent is sensitively situated in a woodland under an array of Gum trees. It has it's own flushing toilet and cold water basin housed in a shed 6 metres from the tent, plus hot water gas shower for exclusive use of tent occupants. Towels, soap and face cloths provided. The 212 acreage includes a walk in only area of over 15.5 hectares of protected heritage scrub. The site is located less than an hour drive South from Adelaide CBD, and 2km North East of the beautiful and friendly community based township of Mount Compass in the Southern Lofty Ranges. This bell tent is situated in a woodland under an array of Gum trees. It has it's own flushing toilet and cold water basin housed in a shed 6 metres from the tent, for exclusive use of tent occupants and a hot water gas shower. Towels, soap and face cloths provided. It is not a parkland but offers a true taste of nature with native grass and vegetation . approx 15 mins from Magill and about 40 mins to the CBD / small caravans ok . Bushwalk on the property or Rock climb at nearby Morialta falls / hike Cleland / Mt Lofty or use the Grove as a base to expore the nearby Heysen trail , the many bakeries , eateries , wineries, breweries and distilleries nearby . Visit historic Marble Hill residence on open days, or enjoy many of the many events the Adelaide hills has on offer. ( Medieval fair / Adelaide rally / SALA / bay to Birdwood / Anzac / country fairs to name a few ) Enjoy pure Marble Hill spring Water ... Roast some chestnuts * over the campfire or gather some wild blackberries* , or mushrooms *. ( * in season ) . There are 4 sites to choose from, all peaceful spots with an abundance of natural wildlife plus a family of deer who often visit. We are just 15 minutes drive from Mount Lofty where you can enjoy some of the many trails available and see cascading waterfalls, scenic gorges and lush fern gullies brimming with bush birds and wildflowers. There are a number of great wineries in the area all with excellent wines and local produce you can enjoy. We also have several gin distilleries. We are a short walk to Wotton's Scrub (Kenneth Stirling Conservation Park) and close to Hahndorf, Oakbank and Stirling. Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and water and take all rubbish with them on departure. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
