Established as a caravan park in 1954 Brownhill Creek Tourist Park is the perfect place to relax and unwind in tranquil surroundings. A short 15 minute drive to the city, hospitals, beaches and fabulous shopping precincts. A 60 minute drive to the wine regions of the Barossa Valley and 25 minutes to McLaren Vale. Welcome to your dream destination!! We have two different locations available in Kangaroo Island with some options of sites in each. FIRST LOCATION: EMU BAY HIDEAWAY-30 hectares of peace, mainly vegetated with Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaved Mallee (Eucalyptus cneorifolia, a nationally-protected ecological community). Kangaroos and wallabies are in abundance. It has a wonderful feeling of remoteness and seclusion yet is so close to iconic Emu Bay. Those with 4WD may choose sites overlooking Shoal Bay towards Kingscote. Alternatively, you may set up camp anywhere on the property. There is even one under-cover position with a concrete floor for those concerned about the weather. There are no amenities so guests need to be 100% self-sufficient (including BYO drinking water and toilet) and leave no trace. It is a wild block and only five minutes from the iconic Emu Bay, where the white sandy beach runs for 4kms, most of which is backed by 10 to 20-meter-high dunes. It is one of the best beaches on the island with crystal-clear water. SECOND LOCATION: Farm Stay about 15 km from Emu Bay and 20km from the main town of Kingscote. This is an operating small sheep farm of over 100ha. For security reasons the exact location is not advertised, but will be disclosed upon arrival on Kangaroo Island. There are several beautiful sites. This location is fairly central to most KI visitor attractions. It is a secure place to set up camp and have peace of mind that your belongings will be safe while you are away from the site. The host takes care to situate sites to give campers the feeling of exclusiveness. NOTES; Check with me before lighting a campfire - this depends on the season and risk. Dogs are permitted if well controlled (register visiting dogs with local council). We had a perfect spot on Koala Ln. Check in was so easy, got everything by e-mail and sms. Lots of amenities, clean bathrooms, hot water. A beautiful national Belair park right beside the campsite. 25 min from the city. It was a great stay! Would definitely stay there again!

We took a group of friends here for their first camping experience. Lots of space, and the amenities (toilet, hot showers, communal kitchen) helped ease them in to the camping lifestyle. David and Michelle were such great and welcoming hosts and were very easy to communicate with. We definitely will come back and highly recommend this campsite

Weekend Trip to Brownhill Creek Tourist Park

I had the chance to spend the night in a beautifully maintained and well-equipped tiny house! The welcome was warm, with reception located right at the entrance. The campground is stunning, surrounded by nature, and being so close to Adelaide is definitely a big plus. I was also impressed by the local wildlife, especially the birds. I even got to hear quite a few kookaburras, which was such a lovely experience!

It’s a wonderful little park with great toilet/shower facilities. There are lots of beautiful shady sites, but as we booked a week before our trip we were up the back on red dust/gravel. This was really unpleasant. It didn’t help that there was no shade and it was sweltering. 90% of sites were in nicer areas. There was a beautiful little cafe, playground and a pool with pool area. The park owners were wonderful to deal with and check in couldn’t have been easier. All in all it’s a fantastic little park close to Adelaide city.

5 nights at Brownhill Creek Tourist Park

While it was very hot on the weekend we stayed at Brownhill Creek, and a little dusty, the park was very well set up. It had a camp kitchen and wash up area - perfect for tent campers. The bathrooms were clean and accessible. The pool was an absolute treat, as was being able to get a morning coffee from the park cafe. In a good spot, not far from the CBD (about 15 min drive), and yet located on the urban fringe / the bush. The only downside is there is a road directly adjacent the park, so there was a bit of road noise. This probably impacted us more because we were in a tent with little sound protection. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
