Welcome to your dream destination!! We have two different locations available in Kangaroo Island with some options of sites in each. FIRST LOCATION: EMU BAY HIDEAWAY-30 hectares of peace, mainly vegetated with Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaved Mallee (Eucalyptus cneorifolia, a nationally-protected ecological community). Kangaroos and wallabies are in abundance. It has a wonderful feeling of remoteness and seclusion yet is so close to iconic Emu Bay. Those with 4WD may choose sites overlooking Shoal Bay towards Kingscote. Alternatively, you may set up camp anywhere on the property. There is even one under-cover position with a concrete floor for those concerned about the weather. There are no amenities so guests need to be 100% self-sufficient (including BYO drinking water and toilet) and leave no trace. It is a wild block and only five minutes from the iconic Emu Bay, where the white sandy beach runs for 4kms, most of which is backed by 10 to 20-meter-high dunes. It is one of the best beaches on the island with crystal-clear water. SECOND LOCATION: Farm Stay about 15 km from Emu Bay and 20km from the main town of Kingscote. This is an operating small sheep farm of over 100ha. For security reasons the exact location is not advertised, but will be disclosed upon arrival on Kangaroo Island. There are several beautiful sites. This location is fairly central to most KI visitor attractions. It is a secure place to set up camp and have peace of mind that your belongings will be safe while you are away from the site. Lovely quiet spot, greeted warmly by Michael. Stayed site 2 located rear the the block, really enjoyed Michaels informative wine tasting, cant help but be caught up in his enthusiasum, enjoyed the wine. Would stay again.

2 nights at McLaren Vale Vineyard

Kim and Michael’s property was a peaceful oasis overlooking the vines. We stayed here for 2 nights with family in 2 vans and loved the open space. Michael gave us a great wine tasting, explaining from start up of their family winery. Perfect location for exploring the McLaren region with Aldi close by for grocery top ups. We had a wonderful stay at Kim and Michael’s vineyard. The outlook and sunsets over the vines is truly beautiful. They were lovely hosts and we got to sample some of their very nice wines which are available for purchase. They will happily assist with suggested places to visit whilst in McLaren Vale. We would highly recommend this Hipcamp.

We came two years ago to Wagon Flat #1 and loved it more on the return. Flat with wavy field grass and yellow flowers, plenty of space for kids to roam around.

Great farm stay. Very relaxing and quiet. Nice and close to Victor Harbour. Toilet, shower facilities (both exceptionally clean), power, water made things easy. Phone reception and internet not great if this is an issue for you, wasn’t for us. Rob the host is a real gentleman. Loved watching the goats and the highland cows while having a drink by the fire each evening.

Absolutely gorgeous and picturesque spot! Surrounded by stunning scenery and amazing animals, it truly felt like a little slice of paradise. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and the location itself is just beautiful. Best of all, we didn’t even need to cook – Moo’s Distillery on the property served up the most delicious food. A perfect stay and we’d love to return again!

McLaren Vale

Foodies, wine lovers, and sunseekers are all welcome in McLaren Vale, one of South Australia’s most prestigious wine regions. In between wine tasting, swing by local farmers markets and farm-to-table restaurants to dine on fresh, seasonal cuisine, walk it off bushwalking or biking along the Coast to Vines trail, then cosy up around the campfire in the evening hours. Fleurieu Peninsula

Stretching south of McLaren Vale, the Fleurieu Peninsula is the ideal destination for a long weekend from Adelaide, a family beach vacation, or a scenic coastal road trip. Surfers, snorkelers, and kayakers can explore the rocky coves and sea caves along the St Vincent Gulf shore, while the south coast towns of Victor Harbor and Goolwa are renowned for their wildlife-watching opportunities.

Kangaroo Island

Ferries and seaplanes set out from Cape Jervis at the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula to Kangaroo Island, Australia’s third largest island.
