Campbell’s Cove

The block is 64 acres, all to yourself. It is coastal and looks across the channel to Kangaroo Island. There are two valleys suitable to set up camp, both with access to the ocean. There are no facilities here, you must be completely self sufficient. You must also have offroad tyres to manage the roads both on approach and on site. We have taken care to clean the beaches and land of rubbish, please ‘leave only footprints.’ The nearest public toilets are a couple of km away just before Talisker mine. Open fires are risky to wind gusts and not permitted from november through feb when the grass is dry - please ask if you are not sure. All proceeds from camping go towards our revegetation project which aims to clean up, protect and rewild the land. We began by fencing out the neighbouring sheep and are now trialling different plant species to see what best tolerates this difficult environment. As a result we please ask you to refrain from removing the ground cover (or using it for firewood) because it plays an important role in slowing erosion and regenerating the soil. The land is locked and we must arrange for a key hand over, easiest from Adelaide. We are not a commercial campsite, just a couple who like to share this wonderful space from time to time. Therefore it is not our intention to have it booked out as we like to give the land the chance to rest, thank you for understanding this! Dogs are welcome, although there are some large kangaroos on site which deserve caution. We are coming into snake season and have seen multiple brown snakes in recent weeks, please be careful! Lastly, this site is dangerous and not suitable for small children. There are high cliffs and unstable edges…. However it is also spectacular, rugged, remote and isolated.

Just 25 minutes from Penneshaw & 20 minutes to Kingscote, this beautiful space is a central location to all attractions around the Island. The retreat is walking distance to many food options like The Oyster Shop, KI Lodge, Samphire and Glossy Black. There are incredible swimming beaches close by including, Pennington Bay and Island Beach just a 5-10 minute drive away. There are also many walking trails along the ocean, through the valleys and into national parks. Perfect spot for bird watching and bush walking and a memorable stay for nature, river and beach lovers 🌿🌊 Please note the following: There is no water or power on the site. There are toilets and showers a short walk into the RV area located next to the Deck Cafe. Guests MUST take their rubbish with them upon departure. An $80 fee will be charged if there is any rubbish left on site. There are two sites on this property so please set up allowing space for one other guest.

Furnished with quality bedding and furnishings, and including a full queen sized sleigh bed. This site is designed to be a romantic couple getaway and quiet retreat. Located on the tourist trail of the Fleurieu Peninsula, close to local wineries and producers. Honeycombe Tent is sensitively situated in a woodland under an array of Gum trees. It has it's own flushing toilet and cold water basin housed in a shed 6 metres from the tent, plus hot water gas shower for exclusive use of tent occupants. Towels, soap and face cloths provided. The 212 acreage includes a walk in only area of over 15.5 hectares of protected heritage scrub. The site is located less than an hour drive South from Adelaide CBD, and 2km North East of the beautiful and friendly community based township of Mount Compass in the Southern Lofty Ranges. This bell tent is situated in a woodland under an array of Gum trees. It has it's own flushing toilet and cold water basin housed in a shed 6 metres from the tent, for exclusive use of tent occupants and a hot water gas shower. Towels, soap and face cloths provided. Walk in only during winter, approximately a 250 metre walk from the parking sight. There are nine Dams on the property, with guests are welcome to Kayak or fish for yabbies. Learn more about this land: We live on a working farm with the Homestead and home paddock approximately half a km from the tent. The 212 acres includes a walk in area only of over 15.5 Hectares of Protected Heritage Scrub.The property has an abundance of wildlife, including, but not limited to: Grey Kangaroos in large mobs.
