The River is the flattest of the campgrounds if you require a completely level site for your vehicle. A number of alpacas and sheep share the camp grounds. Sites suit bush camping with limited amenities. Potable water is available upon request but there are no toilets or services on site. There are a number of great wineries in the area all with excellent food and produce you can enjoy. Close to: Hahndorf - 5 min drive Stirling - 10 min drive Mount Lofty - 15 min drive Tour Down under (TDU) - passes at the end of the road several wineries Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and water and take all rubbish with them upon departure. There are many native animals to enjoy watching including kangaroos, native birds, bats, etc. A native tree reforestation project has taken place and the owners are all about regenerating the land. This is a place to connect with nature, there is a mixture of trees and native plants, and a winter creek runs through the property that fills a small dam and creates a small waterfall when flowing. There is also a loo with a view which is a composting toilet built from recycled materials. We are just a 10-minutes drive from Victor Harbor where all boating, surfing, shopping, and restaurants are located.
