‘Kuntha La’ - peaceful place… We are on the water’s edge at the junction of Currency Creek and The River Murray. Our property sits within the International Ramsar Wetlands. Come and enjoy the water birds, kangaroos, spectacular stargazing and wide open skies. Bring your kayaks, explore the waterways and experience the beautiful bird-life, including egrets, herons, harriers, black swans, pelicans, cormorants, moore-hens, ducks and more. Goolwa is at the mouth of the mighty Murray River and the entrance to beautiful Coorong National Park, so there’s plenty of places to explore.
We are currently offering space for two self-contained campers. Please note that ALL CAMPERS MUST BE SELF-CONTAINED and LEAVE NO TRACE. There is public dump facility 5km away in South Goolwa.
Grounds can be wet and soft during wet weather so please be mindful of your vehicle’s weight and ability to go through wet paddocks.
Our property is approximately 4km from beautiful Goolwa township. Attractions include the Historic Steam Ranger Cockle Train which runs from Goolwa to Port Elliot and Victor Harbor each Sunday & Wednesday, and every day during school holidays.
There are also a range of cafes, restaurants, galleries, and a distillery. Spirit of the Coorong cruises leave from Goolwa Wharf, where you can also board the historic Oscar W paddle steamer.
Markets are held every Sunday at Jaralde Park adjacent to the Goolwa Wharf.

Springton is the home of the historic Herbig Family Tree; in 1855 Mr Herbig and his wife lived in this tree and welcomed 2 of their 16 children whilst living inside the tree.
We offer a wide grassy area peppered with trees, ideal for a relaxing spacious camp. No toilet facilities onsite so campers must be self-contained.
Our site is located along the Lavender Federation Walking Trail.
7km from Springton General Store where you can pick up all basic supplies including fuel and simple takeaway meals, or Springton pub across the road has pub meals.
25 mins to Angaston (with the Barossa Valley Cheese Company) and the wider Barossa area.
30 mins the other direction to Woodside (where you will find Melba’s chocolate factory) and the greater Adelaide hills.

A few good walking trails around.
Good facilities.
Uneven ground, and a number of slopes, so could be challenging if you have mobility issues.

Had a great stay at Cooinda! Definitely recommend the fenced sites if you have pets or little ones. It was a nice change not to have to worry about my bub wandering out on to the road like most campgrounds. The view was also amazing and facilities were clean. We did have a lot of wasps swarm in while cooking in the evening, that’s nature! But I’d definitely check in on that first if you have allergies. I also wish I realised that groups also use the property. While our site was away from the groups they were quite noisy. The school camps were having a great time in the mornings and evenings which was fine but the footy club blasting music past 10.30pm was a little unexpected. No one’s fault, I just didn’t realise they would be there and it was a bit tricky getting the little one to sleep lol. Overall it’s a beautiful property and we had a great time, would recommend 🙂

Cooinda was an amazing place to stay, awesome views, grest atmosphere. The fenced area was awesome for the children a the dog. It allowed us to relax knowing they were all safe.
The different types of camp sites or cabins to stay in offers so many options when planning our next holiday. Close to town to go shopping and outings. We are diffenantly going to book again. Close to the kids grandma for her to spend time with the kids and for us to have time with out the kids..
