We loved, our short stay at Mikkira Station Koala Sanctuary. The ability to see, the koalas up so close and in the wild was outstanding. The directions to get to the property were very clear and the host so helpful and friendly. A lovely night of off grid caravanning!\

Weekend Trip to Wattle Ridge

Great couple of nights at wattle hut 1, Ben was super friendly came and said hello on arrival and is very generous with firewood which we really enjoyed. It is a dirt road to the property that is in good condition easy for our 2wd van, the hut is inside of the enterance to the property but still felt nice and private. Highly recommend this spot, thanks for having us Ben!

We love camping at Parrara View. This was our second time visiting and I could easily pop into town for work or to feed out cat. The kids loved playing amongst the trees and the toilets and showers were immaculate! Thanks for having us Kerri, we will be back again soon!

We had a fantastic stay at Mikkira Station Koala Sanctuary! It’s the perfect spot for camping—especially in a motorhome, with plenty of space and a peaceful setting. We were lucky to see so many koalas up close, which made the experience truly special. Helen is absolutely lovely and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this spot for nature lovers and campers alike!

Excellent spot, very peaceful and relaxing. Fire pit and small hut was excellent. We took two large rigs no problem. 7 m caravan and 6m caravan with 5.5m tow vehicles, very easy. Ben the host was amazing and provided wood for the 4 nights and some produce from the farm. Highly recommended if you want some real peace. I also took a mountain bike and found some trails around the property. 10 out of 10

Great spot approximately half way between Coffin Bay and Port Lincoln. Large open paddock with plenty of space. Easy access for our large caravan. Great spot for a base camp. Lisa was very responsive and helpful.

Weekend Trip to Tiatukia Farm Campsite by the Sea

We had a great 4 nights Tiatukia, the views were awesome, the site was quiet and well located for exploring Port Lincoln and surrounds. Debbie was amazing to deal with, we were able to come in a night early with very little notice, it’s the small things that make you feel very welcome.

We loved camping at Hidden Gum. Perfect location between Coffin Bay and Pt Lincoln and for access to national parks. Loved the facilities and not having to take our own water. Would 100% stay here again.

Site: this was a beautiful camp-site with stunning views of the ocean and surrounding farm land. We stayed at the site Sugar Gum which was very spacious and facing the farmlands where we were able to see cows, sheep and alpacas. The campground is close to town as well. The toilets and showers were very well maintained and equipped. There was also a basin to wash utensils. Definitely recommend staying here. Caution: we travelled in April and our site was extremely windy as it is open from most sides. Make sure to pitch your tent in a safe spot (we didn't, and ended up breaking our tent). But other than that, it's a great place to stay :)

My partner and I stayed here to see koalas in the wild. We thought we would be lucky to see one or two but I quickly lost count of how many koala's there were and we visited on a rainy and windy evening. It is an amazing place and one of my highlights on our trip to the Eyre Peninsula. We stayed over the Easter holidays and there was still plenty of space to select your campsite away from other campers. Thank you to Helen for opening up her place to the public.

Great campground. You can find kangaroos , and koalas everywhere. The only problem was that hot water wasn’t working so I didn’t enjoy taking showers

1 night at Mikkira Station Koala Sanctuary

I was attracted to this site for the koalas and they we're amazing! I can't believe I came across a family tree of koalas! However, I did expect a hot shower which I was looking forward to as I had been shark diving that day and I needed a wash. Unfortunately there was not water pressure/water available the night I was there and confirmed the same with other campers, this was a disappointing and made do with another classic eyre penisula cold wash down. This wouldn't be a deterrent for me for a future visit, more of a consideration that due to availability of water in the area a shower may not be available.

The Claypan at Fishery Bay

The entrance off Whaling Station Road leads to a big camping area on privately owned land next to the council owned campsites. No facilities, sorry, but there is public toilets at the council carpark. Campers must only use the claypan area and not camp in the bush. Strictly no collecting of firewood, interference with the vegetation or leaving of any rubbish. Nearby attractions Whalers Way, Mikkira Station Koala Sanctuary and the Port lincoln National park.

Sunshine at Tiatukia

Enjoy a full water view of Boston Bay and the surrounds of Port Lincoln. At night, witness the magical display of the entire bay with moonlight reflections, fish farms, large ships, the Port Lincoln wharf, silos, and the surrounding area. During the day, marvel at the boating activities ranging from ships to old-style yachts and smaller fishing vessels. Situated off a main road, with only local residents using the road (positioned at the back of a large 2.5-acre block), the block is fully fenced with a gateway entrance. Power outlets are available, 2 x 15 amp power points located on the outside of the shed and a double 10 amp at front of shed. There is ample rainwater available, with multiple tap outlets, hose and pressure pump located at the shed for filling tanks or washing. While we don’t have toilet facilities on our block at this point, the closest public toilets are in the beach town of North Shields and in Port Lincoln. We welcome animal companions but ask that you are mindful if there are other campers. Although not far from Port Lincoln and North Shields, our location offers space, tranquility, and quality views. The shed is locked, and we have a shower facility at the back, which is currently locked until we install a septic tank. You can camp anywhere on the block, drive around to find a spot, or choose from a few little granite rock spots and a single olive tree. The front gate is unlocked with a pin that can be easily pulled out, and it is a double-opening gate. To access the rainwater pump and tap outlets, simply turn on the power point located on the backside of the shed. The power point for the pump is a double 10-amp outlet. It’s a beautiful spot and perfect for leisurely walks if you enjoy exploring on foot. There’s a great waking/ push bike trail that goes from North Sheilds to the port Lincoln Mariner at the bottom of the hill where our block is situated. There’s a winery about 4 km from our block which is opened most days.

Our property is located in the town of Fountain, 24kms from Port Lincoln. We are a hobby farm that is set amongst the gum trees and have large spacious sites for you to relax and enjoy. On a clear night, the stars are amazing. We are only a 15 minutes drive from Coffin Bay and its fresh seafood, stunning beaches, fishing and water activities. There are National Parks within easy reach where you can enjoy 4Wdriving, hiking and swimming. Guests are welcome to bring their horses with them for the duration of their stay. Please contact the host beforehand if you would like to bring your horse so we can prepare. We have great horse facilities, including a large sand arena, round yard, yards and places to ride, including a beautiful beach not far from here. Those who would like to come to relax and enjoy peace and serenity are also very welcome. We have a communal fire pit available to use outside of fire restrictions and other pets are also welcome. Campers must be fully self-sufficient with their own camp toilet and must take all waste with them on departure.
